Stuffed peppers and the weekend

I have never made stuffed peppers in my life. I saw some red and orange bell peppers when I was at the grocery store and decided get some. I hope to make this recipe on the weekend. I won't be adding rice in it, which makes it non-traditional.

This workweek feels long. I am ready for the weekend.

Battery percentage and a surprise parcel

On Sunday, I upgraded my MacBook Air to Big Sur, which is the latest and greatest MacOS. The upgrade went well and I like it so far.

The only thing that bothered me was that the battery percentage was gone. You have to select the option in System Preferences. I understand keeping things simple, but having this percentag hidden by default is odd to me.

Switching gears a bit, I got a small parcel from a local vendor in Toronto. I have been a fan of this vendor's products that I had asked the owner about a small little plushie that I've seen on his social media feed. I asked whether it was for sale. It wasn't, but he was happy to send me one for free for being so supportive. It was such a kind gesture.

Well, guess what? I didn't get one. I got two small plushies. So generous. These small gifts made my day.

Happy Easter!

To those who celebrate Easter, may it be joyous and peaceful.

On Saturday, I probably purchased the most expensive turkey in my life. I had to get one that was already stuffed. Slim pickings this year. That's okay. I look forward to leftovers.

Cooking is healing and comforting. I'll need it.

Decongestant and noise

I went out first thing today to get cold medicine with decongestant. My local drug store opens at 9 am. I got there a few minutes early.

It'a amazing how well decongestant work. I also notice when it wears off. Ugh!

My staycation is going well. I am checked into the hotel. It got a bit noisy with families enjoying chatting in the hallway of my floor after I had checked in, in front of the elevator. Geez, that's convenient for me trying to roll my luggage past an audience. Luckily, I have earplugs.

Here's hoping that I can get some rest.

Sick, missing, and tired

I am still sick. I will likely take a sick day from work today. Currently, my nose is stuffed up, I'm tired, and I have a slight cough.

Being sick makes me think more about my guy breaking up with me. I miss what we had. I don't miss being hurt, as I'm already there.

He just sent me a video to watch. In his own way, he misses me. It makes me even more upset that he is perfectly fine carrying on. I can't do that. I need time to grieve. He isn't in tune with his emotions as much as I am. I wear my heart on my sleeve.

Although I have moments of sadness, I cannot sob in despair like I did the two previous times that he broke up with me. It's that inner strength this time that demands being treated better. It is his loss. I simply need to move on. It will happen with time.

I took naps throughout the day on Sunday. I felt better after each nap, but I am tired. I believe that I have earned a sick day to shake this cold off and heal from this breakup.

Coming down with a cold, having fond memories, and seeing a movie

The good news is that the workweek is over. My team got our software release work done ahead of schedule.

The bad news? I feel like I'm coming down with a cold. My nose is running and stuffy. I also have a slight sore throat. Ugh!

I took a nap for nearly an hour. It happened two hours ago. It's not a normal thing for me. I am hoping that some extra hours of sleep will kick my cold to the curb.

Now that things are less hectic, my guy not being the love of my life anymore has set in. I think of the fond memories that we have shared, but am also annoyed at how he decided to call it quits. I truly deserved a lot better.

I am hoping to go see a movie later on today. I have amassed a ton of points that it's time to splurge. I also have a movie gift card to use. I need some time for me and perhaps a hot dog.

Hugging purple Woolly and waiting for a spanking

I have mentioned that I love my stuffed sheep that my guy bought me earlier this year. He's purple and his name is Woolly.

Woolly makes me smile when I see him. He's huggable and is always smiling. He also has a uniform head, just like my guy.

My guy and I had a chat about Woolly.
"Woolly is such a perfect gift. He makes our time apart more bearable. I cuddle up to him every night," I admitted.
"You're so sweet," my guy remarked. "I wish that I was in bed with you, spanking my bad girl."
Just over a week, he can do just that.

Purple Woolly is my guy in disguise

I tell my guy often that the purple, cuddly stuffed sheep that he bought me was a wonderful, thoughtful gift. I hug him often, as he reminds me of my guy.

We had a talk about my stuffed purple sheep, Purple Woolly, recently.
"When I hold Woolly, one hand caresses his head and the other gropes his butt, kind of like what I do with you," I said.
"I'm glad," he said, smiling at me.
My guy thinks that he isn't a great at giving gifts. He is terrific at it.
