Weekend is over
The weekend has come and gone. I do miss the longer weekend that I had before this one. I am all for a five-day weekend.

Good weekend and packing
It has been a great weekend. I saw two friends on Saturday and went out on Sunday to fetch a few things.
I'm starting to pack for my trip. I leave on Friday. This week is rather busy, especially with a concert on Thursday night.
It'll be nice to relax a bit once I'm over the border.

Popcorn
On Sunday, I went out to pick up a dessert order. I rarely go out on Sundays, so it felt weird.
I managed to drop by a popcorn store that I haven't visited in over a decade. I was so happy that it's still up and running.
I love popcorn. I bought three large bags. There was a special where you buy two bags and get your third for free.
My popcorn stash should last me another week.

Cooking, baking, and the long weekend ahead
I spent Sunday cooking and baking. I made cornbread muffins, and brussels sprouts with maple syrup and parmesan.
It's the last workweek before Labour Day weekend. I don't have any travel plans, but hope to get together with a friend and pick up a couple of orders.
Here's to a good week ahead!

The week and Friday
This week has flown by. I am pleased. I simply need to get through Friday and all is well.
I have dinner plans later today. I rarely go out on a Friday night. It's nice that I get to see the world a bit.

Stuffed peppers and the weekend
I have never made stuffed peppers in my life. I saw some red and orange bell peppers when I was at the grocery store and decided get some. I hope to make this recipe on the weekend. I won't be adding rice in it, which makes it non-traditional.
This workweek feels long. I am ready for the weekend.

Weekend reflections
Blink and just like that, the weekend is over.
I got two free bubble tea drinks on Saturday. I cooked and baked on Sunday. I also trimmed my bangs and can see again. It was been nice, relaxing weekend.
The spot on my arm where I got my vaccine injection is a tad sore. It's not horrible. I can sleep on it just fine. I only notice it now and again.
My friend and colleague checked up on me after I got my shot. She's sweet that way.
Have a great week, everyone!

Long week, especially dealing with a colleague who jumped the gun
This week feels long already. I had to deal with a project manager who can't read.
I had sent a bunch of links for a couple of developers to review, clearly asking them to review my work. This project manager decided to forward them to a different department and said that my work was done. What? It was an incredibly premature move.
It's sad that I had to explicitly state that it's not done in my eyes. My work needs an internal review first.
It's unfortunate that the developer who originally forwarded his work to me had copied this project manager on it. Next time, I will remove her completely from the message when I respond because she can't read.
Ugh!

Wrapping up the weekend with businesses reopening
My weekend is practically over.
I went out on Sunday to pick up an order. I do like curbside pickup. I have been out on Sundays more often. It's nice.
Today marks the first day that businesses reopen in my area. It doesn't exactly make me want to dine out or hit a mall. It's a small sign of hope during this long pandemic, which is nice.
Have a great week ahead!

Bittersweet week
My vacation has started. It has been a bittersweet week.
I will write more about a positive recognition that I got on Friday. I'm simply exhausted right now.

My manager on vacation gives my inbox a rest
My manager is on vacation for three days. He took three days smack in the middle of the week. He didn't bother making his vacation a longer weekend for some reason.
For me and my e-mail inbox, we feel like it's a vacation, too. I don't get as many e-mails when he isn't around.
I am also more productive without a ton of interruptions. It's nice.

My intern's final week at our workplace and during a pandemic
This week is my intern's final week at my workplace. It's odd that I cannot wish him a proper farewell during a pandemic.
I normally get a small gift as a token of my appreciation for all the hard work that each intern brings. This intern, in particular, has been outstanding. We share a love for food and get along well.
As a team, we send each intern off with a farewell lunch. I have told him that we'll have a deferred one for him once we are able to socialize again.
Last night, I sent him an e-gift card. It seems informal, but I wrote a personalized message. It's better than doing absolutely nothing.
Luckily, we get to talk tomorrow. We have exchanged cell phone numbers, so we'll keep in touch.
I'm not sure how my team will manage without him. He has played such an important part of our team that the void will be difficult to fill, especially when we can't backfill his role.

Working from home for a while, as the office is locked down
I have a virtual meeting every single day this week with my manager. It makes the week longer. Thank goodness each meeting is only an hour.
I haven't been outside since Saturday. I will need to step out tomorrow and get some groceries.
Tonight, my office will be locked down. Our badges are deactivated. Strict measures are in place.
So many changes. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

One more workweek to go before vacation
This week is my last workweek before the holidays. I am off for two weeks and I need it.
I went out on Sunday and caught up with a good friend. I'm tired. I need a weekend to recover from the weekend.

Work,working from home, and balance
I am working from home today. I have a dentist's appointment in a few hours. Here's hoping that all is well.
Currently, I'm doing a bit of work. I normally don't log on at this hour. However, this work requires that my colleagues are off our authoring tool.
I like that things are quiet. I don't have any interruptions to deal with right now. It's nice.
I haven't worked from home for over a week. It feels odd. Yet, it's precious time.
Sadly, I have to go to work on Wednesday. Next week will be back to my regular work-home balance.

Menstrual cycle and foot spasms
This week has been odd. On top of the rough start to the week, my period happened just before I left work on Tuesday morning. It's roughly four days late.
Being on my menstrual cycle drains me. As of late, they have been different. I haven't experienced a ton of cramping, likely because I am out and about. Physical activity helps.
My period also takes weird pauses. It stops for a few hours and then begins again.
Training is going well, except that my student doesn't have access to an application that he needs all the time. It's annoying that one of three approvers needs to say yes and they are all out to lunch.
My foot is going through spasms. Oh, joy! Here's hoping for better days ahead.

Short post for a busy week
It's a busy week at work. Last week was highly stressful dealing with yet another incompetent person on my team. I will need a post to describe that fiasco.
I have finally calmed down about the situation. I am so glad. It was highly frustrating dealing with her.
She has finally realized that she has damaged our rapport. I no longer trust her to independently do her work. She messed up and she knows it. I'll elaborate in a future post.
I am working from home on Tuesday. Sadly, I have an early morning conference call. I am in the office for the remainder of this week. It's not bad, but I would rather be sleeping in.

Survived the workweek by napping
I got through this week in one piece. I like my new student. She is bright and highly mature for her age.
I went into work every single day this week. I haven't done that in ages. I do miss working from home, although it was nice to spend more time chatting with various folks at work.
The downside to going into work is getting up early and then needing a nap before my bedtime. I have had a nap a couple of times this week. It's the main reason why I am writing at this hour. I took a nap a couple of hours ago and have slightly more energy.
Okay, I spoke too soon. I'm off to bed.

Sleepy and not working from home all week
Sleepy.
I am in the office all week. It's weird not working from home to break up the week.
Sleepy. More later.

Long weekend and sleep
It's the start of my long Easter weekend. I'm glad that it's here.
This week, although short, has been rough. I did tons of troubleshooting and it all worked out. I lost a colleague. Some colleagues that I have are tedious to talk and listen to.
I'm sleeping in. I'm looking forward to it.
