Heading back to work today

I go back to work today. Luckily, our company goes into the office once a week. It's not Monday, so I'm happy.

I will admit that it was nice working a single day between December 13 and now. I will miss sleeping in and focusing on getting better health-wise.

I am down to a mild cough. I also find that I get tired faster. I'm not sure if it's because I have been indulging in carbs over the holidays or if it's a symptom of coughing up a lung.

If you are heading back to work this week, I wish you an easy transition. I am now trying to figure out when I should take my next vacation!

Merry Christmas and more!

Hi, there! It has been a while. I hope that you are well.

I'd like to wish you a happy Christmas with family and loved ones, if you celebrate it. This year will be the first time in years in which I am not cooking a turkey dinner.

I just came back from a week in the Twin Cities and Winnipeg. I ended up catching a nasty cold. I have been sleeping it off for days. Right now, I feel the most energetic in days. I still have a phlegmy cough. At least I am on the mend and don't have to go back to work until the second week of January.

I was too weak and sick to hit the grocery store. I'm fine with soup and items that I have at home. It's just not a full-blown turkey dinner that I typically make for my parents and me.

On Christmas eve, I had a financial counselling appointment pertaining to my consumer proposal. The Teams link didn't work. I sat there waiting to be admitted. I cancelled the call, which prompted the woman to say that we could do it over the phone.

I have a lot of thoughts about my consumer proposal. I am happy with it on the whole. The firm preparing those who are going through one for the first time needs to provide more support.

I hope to write more here. It has been a challenge trying to focus when my blog has changed its original purpose. It will be about whatever I am experiencing in my life. I haven't thought about spanking in ages.

Long nap and later meeting start

I took a long nap after work on Monday. I did so much that I crashed after my workday was over.

Here's hoping that I can sleep well tonight.

Every month, I normally have a ridiculous meeting at 7 am that goes for four hours. Since Daylight Saving Time happened in Europe, and not in Canada, my meeting starts an hour late. So, I start at my usual time of 8 am. Sweet!

Knowledge and getting shelled with questions

I am one of those breathing fountains of knowledge. A while back, the diva on our team nicknamed me the data bank. I don't mind it.

The downside to being fairly knowledgeable is that people often fire questions at me and forget that I'm a person who doesn't enjoy constant interrogation. How about saying hi first, for instance, before you start firing your questions at me?

I have one friend who has been doing that online in direct messages. It's always a question that he poses.

The weekend, I had proudly mentioned that I got my vaccine shot in a public post. He congratulated me on said post and then privately asked me what vaccine I got.

I decide not to respond. It was the first time that I felt good about not replying. It's always a question. It's never how I am doing or a simple hello. I had had enough.

I am still training a new member of our team from India. Although he is good at asking me how I am doing, I find that he asks questions that are too advanced for his current understanding. It's not horrible, but it means that I have to explain the same concept twice. The first time is a basic version until we get to the actual topic in training where I need to explain it in more detail.

On Monday, I learned that his questions that he had about late last week's training sessions were off, meaning that he had either forgotten or he is the type who isn't the research-on-my-own type.

I have him working on an exercise on his own. We'll see how he does when we meet later on today.

Being the interviewer and interviewee

I have so much to say, but I'm tired. I'll get around to these posts soon.

I have an interview to conduct at 08:00 today. The candidate is in India. Chances are that the next person hired on the team will require my training this person early in the morning. Luckily, I am able to span it across two weeks, so I'd be training three to four hours each workday.

The other night, I had a thirty-minute discussion with a recruiter. It went well. I am not looking for a job. Rather, this person found my resume and wants to find a position within the company that suits me. It's interesting.

I'll be working on updating my resume shortly.

Tired, less sugar, and happy

I've been tired the last couple of days. All is well. I'm happy that it's the weekend!

I decided to cut back on sugar as of Friday. I have been indulging in desserts that I've noticed how I don't sleep as well as I used to. My clothes also fit tighter.

Video of my late friend

I wanted to sleep in on Friday. I did manage to get more sleep, but I received a couple of text messages at 09:00.

They were from my dear friend's husband. She had passed away in early January. He was using her phone to text me, like he did back in January, and said that it automatically put all photos featuring her into a video. He then texted me this video.

It's a nice keepsake to have. When we met up, we rarely took photos together or of each other. I have a handful of them from trips spent with her over the years and I cherish them. This video is special, to remember her by.

The last photo is recent one, probably closer to her passing. She looked thin and tired, which would be expected going through chemotherapy.

I have been thinking about her often. It's nice that I am now keeping in touch with her husband.

Cell phone cases and software updates

On Tuesday, I went out briefly to pick up a parcel at the post office. I also got some takeout for dinner.

I got two cell phone cases in the mail. One is purple that glows in the dark. The other is a clear case. I love them both. It's nice to have a protective case on my new phone.

I am currently upgrading a few software applications on my Mac mini. I'm ready for bed. I'm exhausted!

Update on my phone and panties

Things are busy at work. We are less than a month away from a major software release, so it's expected.

My new phone is expected to arrive on Monday now. Although the wait seems like an eternity, I am okay with it. I bought a purple cell phone case online, so I hope that it arrives roughly at the same time as my phone. I still need to get a screen protector. I'm making progress.

I'm exhausted, which was one reason why I decided to skip posting yesterday. However, I wanted to say that my cute panties are so comfortable that I am considering getting a pair each month.

Verdict on using a tissue to eliminate eyeglasses from fogging up

I decided to skip a day posting here. Friday was pretty busy that I ended up taking a nap at around 22:30, woke up, brushed my teeth, and went to bed for another 7 hours!

My appointment with my ophthalmologist went well. He says that my eyes are healthy such that I don't need to see him for another six months. It's good that I don't need an eye injection. Here's hoping that this trend continues.

As for my eyeglasses fogging up, I tried the tissue technique where I had it folded as a strip at the top of my mask. At first, it did fog up, but not as badly as if I didn't have the tissue. Within a minute, there was no fogging at all. It was nice to do the eye test and not apologize for not being able to read the chart due to fog.

Another tip that I got was to wash your lenses with baby shampoo. You then let your eyeglasses air-dry. I haven't tried it, but I'm curious.

Deep breaths help

It's Friday. I am exhausted from the workweek.

I've been practising taking deep breaths while my eyes are closed, which helps me unwind. It calms me. The problem these days is that I am working at such a pace that I tense up, which seems to trigger panic attack symptoms.

I need to take some time to break. I'm horrible at it.

Thursday was much better, except when two people pinged me on our work instant messaging app. The disruptions and their inability to read annoyed me. It triggered my stress for a brief period. I did more deep breaths and I was fine afterwards.

As for working from home, my workplace has extended this period till the first week of July. I am taking a week of vacation then. It's much needed. I had planned to vacation somewhere. Instead, my plans have changed and I'll be doing a staycation instead.

I do need a break from this hectic pace at work, which I am looking forward to enjoying.

Sleep, work, and time

I didn't sleep well last night. I woke up a few times during the night, so I felt tired by the time that I needed to get up.

I've received about 67% of content delivered to me at work. They are essentially three large chunks of information. I got the first one done yesterday. I suspect that the other two chunks will be larger, but it's hard to gauge.

My workplace is closed till June 1 know. I have a feeling that this deadline will be extended for a while.

There are some positives to staying at home. I don't spend as much. I also enjoy cooking meals and having more time to myself.

Here's hoping that I sleep better tonight.

Took a nap and dreamt about my ex fondling my butt

On Friday, I got a software release out the door. It was a painful set of tasks to complete throughout this entire week.

After all the chaos had ended, I was tired and took an afternoon nap. It is one of the perks these days when you are working from home.

I dreamt about my ex-guy. He came over to me and kissed me. He then fondled my butt.

I woke up. I was startled. Did I dream about him because I wrote about him the night before? Or, is there another meaning behind the dream?

Here's hoping that such dreams don't return to haunt me.

Recovering from food poisoning

It has been a while. Here's the scoop.

I got food poisoning on Wednesday. I was working from home and wasn't feeling great. I ended up vomiting on four separate occasions. It wasn't fun.

On Thursday, I was starting to get better. I had a couple of crackers with water for a couple of meals. I was happy that I could hold food down.

I graduated to soup on Friday. Chicken noodle soup tasted so good from a can. I had to go to the supermarket. I felt weak walking to my car from my home. Luckily, I did much better walking around the supermarket.

Saturday left me exhausted. I went to run a few errands and took breaks, My stamina and energy are not fully there.

I took it easy on Sunday. I also have a cough. Raw honey helps soothe a sore throat.

I go back into the office on Monday. We'll see if I survive. I am thankful that I am on the mend.

Here's hoping that you're doing much better!

Back from a blogging break

I have taken a couple of days off from blogging. It has been refreshingly nice.

Monday was my travel day back home. I was pretty tired that I decided to take a break from blogging. All is well! It's nice to be back.

My Mac mini is still acting up. I have a feeling that my photos on its hard drive is taking too much space. I will need to work on moving them to an external drive. Otherwise, I am eyeing a new Mac mini either this year or next. It's a decade old.

Today, I worked from home. There was some snow and I decided to avoid driving in it. I'm glad that I did.

Longer weekend and starting it off by falling asleep

I'm checked in to a hotel room by work, which is close to the airport. I am flying out in the early afternoon.

I am looking forward to this longer weekend, although it will feel short.

I was so tired this evening that I crashed just before 9 pm. I woke up before midnight to shower. I'm now wide awake.

Here's hoping that I turn in within in the next hour or so. Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

Early starts tire me out faster

The great perk about starting my workday at 7 am is that I can quit early.

The downside is that I'm tired. I should be in bed now.

I am nearly packed for my trip this weekend. I still feel like I have forgotten to pack something, though.

Trip,Tuesday, and tired

I need to start getting ready for a brief jaunt down to the Twin Cities. I have somewhat packed, but I'm missing a few items.

This week, I only have Tuesday to work from home. I need to get my packing done after work. It's a busy time releasing software out to customers. I have a writer who is taking over some of my responsibilities. We'll see how she does.

I do have plenty to say, but I'm tired. I'll save it for another day.

Take care, everyone!

Good things came in threes for me

The year is winding down at work. I got a bunch of gifts on Thursday.

A project manager thanked me for my hard work recently. She got me a Belgian chocolate cake. I was feeling chilled and not the best yesterday, so I'll eat the cake when I am back to my normal self. I thanked her for the kind gesture.

A colleague got me chocolates. Yum!

Finally, my manager gave me a bunch of points towards anything at our online store. He thanked me for my efforts getting five software releases out the door within the last three weeks.

No wonder I felt under the weather yesterday. Work has just been weighing me down. Today is my last workday before I go on vacation. Yay!

One more workweek to go before vacation

This week is my last workweek before the holidays. I am off for two weeks and I need it.

I went out on Sunday and caught up with a good friend. I'm tired. I need a weekend to recover from the weekend.
