Happy shopping outcome

The weekend is here. Yay!

I have some errands to run later on today. I made a decent shopping list. Most of the items are food! Here's hoping that I get everything that I need.

On a slightly different note, I had placed an order online for an item with a small business that I frequent often. I got to exchange e-mail messages with the owner. I had ordered a plushie. She said that there was some glitch on her end and it wasn't available. I got a refund.

However, there was a larger version of the same plushie that she had, but wasn't listed on her site. I got it without tax. It was such a lovely outcome that I didn't expect. She has always been nice to me and it was such a nice gesture to have the tax knocked off.

Great customer service from a small, local store that has survived this pandemic. It's one of many reasons why I return.

Battery percentage and a surprise parcel

On Sunday, I upgraded my MacBook Air to Big Sur, which is the latest and greatest MacOS. The upgrade went well and I like it so far.

The only thing that bothered me was that the battery percentage was gone. You have to select the option in System Preferences. I understand keeping things simple, but having this percentag hidden by default is odd to me.

Switching gears a bit, I got a small parcel from a local vendor in Toronto. I have been a fan of this vendor's products that I had asked the owner about a small little plushie that I've seen on his social media feed. I asked whether it was for sale. It wasn't, but he was happy to send me one for free for being so supportive. It was such a kind gesture.

Well, guess what? I didn't get one. I got two small plushies. So generous. These small gifts made my day.

Early morning meeting and a generous plushie gift

I should be off to bed now. I have a meeting that starts at 7 am for four hours. Oh, joy!

On a nice note, a local business has a small monkey as a mascot. It has a small plushie version of this mascot. I asked whether it was available for purchase. I got a response from the business immediately. It doesn't sell plushies, but the owner wanted to send me one for free for being a supporter for a few years now.

This generous gesture has made my week!

Packing more than I had expected

My vacation is coming to an end. Later on today, I fly back home.

I have bought more items than I had anticipated. I have spent the last hour packing. I have two stuffed plush Peanuts characters. I think that they should fit in my luggage, but they are so oddly shaped that I'll have to scrunch them in. Otherwise, they may need to be  in my rolling computer bag.

Luckily, I don't fly out until late in the afternoon, so I should be able to sort these details out by then.

Missing my guy and cuddling sweet gifts

I miss my guy.

He's still working on training materials for a course that is rather new. He's training and tweaking it as he goes.

I miss talking to him. Holding his hand. Hearing about his day. Everything.

It's nice that I have a couple of stuffed plush toys, a purple sheep named Woolly and an owl named Owly, that are on my bed. I'm glad that I can cuddle them when I miss him.

Hotel, gifts,and lots of kisses

On Thursday, I drove to my guy's town. The drive wasn't bad, as I had bypassed most of the ugly rush-hour traffic. I also have a hunch that other folks have taken this week off, like I have.

I checked in at the hotel room at 16:30. I then went to grab a pizza and more, and came back to the hotel.

My guy called me. He was commuting and said that he'd drop by at 20:00. I was thrilled.

I wore a cold-shoulder top, which he has seen me in once before. I had my skirt ready. I had asked him to call me when he was close by. He completely forgot. Instead, I was wearing shorts when he got to the hotel. They still worked.

After he knocked on my door, I let him in and we hugged tightly. I always feel good in his arms.

He took off his winter gear (it has been -22°C during the day, with a windchill that makes it feel more like -30°C) and we moved over to the loveseat.

He was sweet to have brought a couple of gifts for me. The first was a small, cuddly owl plush. I love it! The other was a pressure cooker cookbook. I didn't have a chance to leaf through it. My guy was too busy kissing me all over.

It's amazing how much he misses me. I've missed him, too.

Parking next to my guy's car is comforting

I miss my guy.

On Friday, I went out for lunch with my colleagues. It was at an all-you-can-eat sushi place. Both my guy and I typically avoid such restaurants, for we don't enjoy overeating and wanting to nap for the rest of the day. However, I was pretty good about not going into a sushi coma. The variety was nice.

After we had finished eating at the restaurant, I drove three of my other colleagues back to the office. I got a free spot in the parking lot, which was next to my guy's car.

Even though he has been away for a week, I feel comforted parking my car next to his. It's good.

Last week, when I drove over to the restaurant to meet my guy for dinner, I couldn't find his car. I drive a blue car, so it's easy to spot. In contrast, he drives a white car, which is pretty common.

I tried calling him, but his cell phone was dead and needed charging. He is horrible at charging it, but has always remembered my trick of putting it in airplane mode to charge it faster on the plane.

He walked over to me, as he spotted me when I first drove into the restaurant's lot. We walked over a part of the parking lot with gravel. He instinctually grabbed my hand and wanted to make sure that I was okay.

I miss his natural sweetness of just being himself.

On a good note, I have my purple woolly stuffed plush that reminds me of him. I would miss him a lot more if I didn't have purple woolly to cuddle.

One week down. Two more to go before I see him again.

Testing out seats in my guy's car and cuddling two woolly guys

On Saturday, my guy and I met at work at 15:30. I am the punctual one. I got there twenty minutes early. My guy made the effort to get there on time. He was only three minutes late, which is pretty good. Sometimes, it's far worse.

We parked next to each other. We both got out of our cars. I asked if I could drive his car and fix the slight crookedness of his parked car. He just told me to get into the car. I did. The driver's side.
"No, get back here," he told me, pointing out our treehouse.
"But, I've never been in the front seat. Can I at least sit here?" I asked him.
"Sure," he replied.
"It's nice. I'm a step closer to driving your car," I said enthusiastically.
"Keep dreaming," he stated bluntly.
"That's not nice. Your seat is warm. It's nice."
I then got out of the front seat and joined him in the treehouse.
"Can I have your car keys?" I asked him.
"Um, nope," he replied. "You can have these gifts instead."
My guy is sweet. I wasn't expecting gifts. The first one was a purple plush sheep.
"It's purple woolly!" I exclaimed.
"It had your name written all over it. I had to get it for you," he explained.
"He's huge. He's like a second pillow," I noted.
"He is. You can cuddle him," my guy said, watching me automatically cuddle purple woolly.
"I will, like I do with you," I said, which made him smile.
My guy also got me a practical gift. It's a car trash can that you loop over the headrest. I teased that he thought that I was messy. He knows that I like thoughtful gifts. He actually bought himself one and showed me how it works, which was great.

The gift were a nice start. I then cuddled with my true woolly guy who had a wool coat on.

Shorter week means more work, trips, and cuddles with Woolly

A shorter workweek sounds good. For me, it tends to be hectic. Unfortunately, I predicted correctly.

I work from home on Wednesdays. My boss booked a two-hour meeting yesterday. I was asked to join online. I decided to join for half an hour, citing having an appointment at 10:30 am. I am glad that I did. I spent the remaining time catching up on work.

It is pretty hectic trying to complete my own work on top of working with two summer interns. I spend a decent amount of time making sure that they know what they are doing. I then spend even more time reviewing their work, which involved a total of 1000 pages of edits within the past two days.

The fun part? I finished filing my travel expenses for last week's conference. As strange as it sounds, I enjoy filing expenses. I am organized. It's probably a math thing. I had all my receipts photographed. My boss knows how I tick. He immediately approved everything.

Guess what? I get to go on campus to one of the universities I had visited back in February to interview a new set of prospective interns to start work in September. I get to do a mini road trip this Friday with my boss, who likes that I end up expensing everything and driving us there. It really means that he will approve what we have for lunch.

He actually trusts me so much with my food recommendations that he has asked that I pick a place. Back in February, I chose a ramen place right off the bat, without even being asked to do this task. He was game. It's good that we both love food and I have a say in what yummy food I want to eat.

I miss my guy. I was cuddling Woolly, the stuffed plush sheep that he gave me, earlier. I had him in between my breasts. The way that Woolly looked at me reminds me of my guy doing the same thing after playing or sucking on my breasts.

My guy chose the perfect gift as a sweet reminder of him.

My guy is back!

My guy's flight was scheduled to land at 18:30 on Saturday. I got a call from him at 18:05.
"Hey! Your flight must be early," I said to him.
"Yes, I just landed," he said, with a tone in his voice implying that he was happy to hear my voice.
"Oh, no! I'm not at the office yet," I indicated to him.
"It sounds like you're driving. Take your time, sweetie," he told me.
"Okay! I'll see you soon, sweetie."
It's a good thing that I am a pretty punctual person. I managed to get there before he did. He walked over to my car and opened the passenger-side door.
"Hey!" I exclaimed.
"Hey," he replied. I reached out to hold his hand.
"You're woolly!" I replied, admiring his maroon wool sweater under his jacket.
"Yes, I am. I see that you are wearing a skirt... or are they shorts?" he asked me.
"It's a skirt," I said.
We got into the backseat, which would be the first time that we are truly christening the new treehouse.

My guy handed me a bag of goodies:

  • From Budapest, he got me a boomerang. I will obviously need to try it outdoors.
  • From Ireland, he got me a Shaun the Sheep plush toy and a doorplate with my name. He thought that the former would be perfect for me to cuddle with. The doorplate is nice, as it has Ireland on it.
  • From Cairo, he bought me more Egyptian Turkish delight, which looks like a dong, but it's really fresh walnuts with Turkish delight wrapped around it.

My guy is sweet. We spent a bit of time hugging and kissing before my spanking.

Mini my guy plush doll

Since my guy had an incredibly long travel and work day on Sunday, his original plan to drive into work on Monday has been postponed. It's understandable, although we can't wait to see each other.

On the phone last night, I told my guy that I found a company that will take a photo that you submit of a person or a drawing, and it will make that person or object in the form of a plush doll. For a while, I have been thinking about having a stuffed doll that looks like my guy. I joked that I could use Velcro for his hair and rip it off when I felt like seeing the previous version of my guy. He felt that it was too violent for his liking!

My guy asked me whether this plush doll had a penis. I told him that it wasn't anatomically correct. Instead, I could sew a few versions of his manhood, and use Velcro to attach each one to his mini-him. We both laughed.
"Are you going to do it?" he asked me.
"I would do you anywhere," I replied. "Oh, you meant get the plush doll!"
"Are you?" he asked, after he had stopped laughing.
"Yes. When you're away, I can cuddle up to the doll."
"You're so sweet."
I just need to take a photo of my guy and get my order started.
