Receiving my friend's voice message

Yesterday afternoon, I received a text message from my dear friend's hubby through my friend's cell phone. He had texted me a voice message from my friend that was played at her funeral service. He thought that I'd like to have it to remember her.

It was such a nice gesture. I texted him back and thanked him. I was grateful to have been able to attend her funeral from afar. Hearing her voice again was and still is comforting.

I sent him my love and thoughts to him and his daughter. He appreciated it.

It's hard to believe that it has been a week since I got the news about my friend's passing. Although I am healing, it will definitely take a while to get back to my regular self.

More thoughts from my friend's funeral

My friend organized her entire funeral. We are similar in that we are natural planners. She wasn't a control freak. She simply wanted to take care of it without burdening others. It was just who she was.

She made sure that everyone had a bagged lunch after the service. It made me smile. It was so her.

She left a voice message to all of us. She said that we were her miracle. Her daughter let out a sob. I lost it there as tears trickled down my face. It felt good hearing her voice.

She chose the music that was played. I have the list, which is now a part of my playlist and will always remind me of her.

At the end, Amazing Grace was played. The Mayo Clinic managed to record her heartbeat. Her heartbeat was then used as the beat for the song, which had guitar as the melody. It was unique and I felt connected to her -- as if she were saying to everyone that they would be okay.

I managed to grieve at her streamed funeral. I felt a lot better today. It was a lovely service celebrating her life. She somehow managed to reassure us that things were going to be okay. I am healing one day at a time.

Miracles at work and exhaustion

It has been a busy week. We just finished two software releases. My new students have done well in helping push them out.

I had a rare moment the other day where all three of us attended our team meeting and were actually excused after ten minutes to go back to our software release work. I thought that there was a blue moon. I got up and ran out the door before my manager decided to change his mind.

I'm exhausted. Thank goodness it's Friday!

My guy returns home on Saturday. He hasn't enjoyed staying at his hotel. He tends to stay in there and work after he comes from from work. Otherwise, he is sleeping.

Monday surprise - eye candy

Every Monday, I drive to work and participate in a conference call. The one this past Monday was pleasant and productive. We finished the call in half an hour.

I had fifteen more minutes to get to work. I finally made it.

The parking lot at work requires a bit of care. There is a pedestrian crossing, so you are expected to yield. Sure enough, a good-looking guy started crossing the lot. He looked at me. I waved at him. He smiled. I reciprocated.

I pressed the button to roll down my car window.
"Oh, my gosh, you're early!" I exclaimed.
"Yes, I am," my guy turned back and smiled.
"I'm super impressed," I admitted.
"Me, too," he chuckled.
I wish that all Monday mornings started off with eye candy.

Long lost photos have been delivered!

My guy and I travelled to Seattle nearly a couple of years ago. He was there on business and I made it a vacation.

On our last day there, we had breakfast at our hotel before we headed off to the airport. I had forgotten to bring my phone down to the restaurant. Instead, I took photos using my guy's phone of what I was eating. I have been taking food photos for years, mainly to remember what great food I have had.

He ended up saving all his photos to his hard drive, which I refer to as the abyss or black hole. I felt like I would never see these photos again.

He surprised me an e-mail tonight:
Hey Cutiebootie,
Hope all is good on your end. Could you please check the attached pics and see if they are the ones that you wanted?
Miracles do happen! I also like the mention of end. Yes, he's hinting at my backside.

Tardy guy surprises me with an early welcome

I arrived in my guy's town at around 18:00 on Saturday. My guy texted me.
"Hey, are you at the hotel?" he asked me.
"Yes, I just checked in. You can swing by whenever you're ready," I wrote back.
"Are you good if I swing by at 19:00?" he asked me.
"Sure," I replied, providing the hotel room number.
My guy tends to be tardy. I am the punctual one.

He knocked on the door at 18:45. Miracles happen.

I opened the door. He had a huge smile on his face. He walked in. We hugged and kissed.
"You're early," I said, surprised.
"Yes. I couldn't wait to see you," he said sweetly.
I'm glad that he showed up early.

Hot dogs and an upcoming spanking

Conversations that my guy and I have are fun. Part of our conversation the other day went like the following:
"I'm hungry and I don't know where to go to grab a bite to eat," I said to my guy as I was driving (my phone was connected to my bluetooth speakerphone in my car).
"Why don't you go to Costco and get a hot dog?" he suggested.
"What?!" I questioned, as if I had heard him incorrectly. "You're letting me get a hot dog?"
"Yes," he replied.
"See, miracles can come true," I stated factually. "When you come back, I will drive your car."
"Um, no," he replied.
"Sure, I will. I may need another two years to convince you, but it will happen. I am a good girl after all," I hinted.
"You will never be a good girl. If I weren't away, you'd have a sore butt."
"No, you're wrong. I'm definitely a good girl," I teased.
"When I am back, the first matter is to punish you and give you a hard spanking," he said.
I love our conversations. He does, too.

Spanking me and potentially spanking him

This week has been a bonus good week with my guy. He came into the office to talk to various folks about an upcoming course that he is planning out.

On Monday, I had a last-minute meeting to go to. Unfortunately, we couldn't go out for lunch together. However, I did manage to drop by the room that he was in a couple of times.

My guy gently brush my hair away from my face and tucked it behind my left ear. He admired my pink earrings again and told me that liked them. He also looked at my helix piercing and played with the beaded hoop.

He can't keep his hands off me at times. I am not complaining. He simply is making up for lost time. He managed to caress my breast by going under my v-neck purple sweater to play with it.

I had to go to my meeting. I was standing up and mentioned that my butt was still sore from the spanking I got from him on Saturday. He gave me a couple of smacks. He's so mean, but I liked it.

He told me that we should explore spanking him one of these days. On Saturday, I caressed his butt, told him that I liked it and found it attractive, and gently gave him a few lovetaps. He enjoyed them.

Miracles can happen. I am glad that he is open to trying out being spanked.
