Skin tag in the corner of my right eye - gone after a couple of years

During the pandemic, I developed a skin tag in the corner of my right eye. It didn't hurt. It didn't obstruct my vision.

I can't pinpoint how long I've had it. I looked at photo and it has been there for a couple of years, at least.

The other day, I looked at it in the mirror. I felt it was time to get it removed. I had only had one other skin tag in my life. It was in my armpit area. It was so minor that I squeezed the base of it. A few days later, it fell off on its own.

I knew that the one in the corner of my eye wouldn't be that simple to remove. Its base was thicker. I decided to freeze it off with Compound-W's over-the-counter skin tag remover.

It was easy. I bought it from the drugstore and immediately used it in my car. It has this blue adhesive circle. You basically have your skin tag jut through the tiny hole, to target it for the freezing solution. It also protected the area around the skin tag, so you can't mess up the application.

You apply the applicator with the freezing material on your skin tag for twenty seconds. It did feel like my skin tag was burning, so I applied it in five-second intervals four times. It was more comfortable that way.

An hour ago, I brushed the corner of my eye because it was a bit itchy. My skin tag fell off.

Wow! The package said that it takes up to two weeks for the skin tag to fall off after the application. Mine didn't even take a full two days!

This area did sting a bit when I went to wash my face. It'll need some time to heal, but it's quite an effective skin tag removal kit. I highly recommend it.

It does run a bit on the pricy side. However, it worked like a charm. Here's hoping that I don't get another skin tag. However, I do have a kit to remove it, so I'd be fine.

Anti-blue light-blocking computer glasses

I ordered a pair of blue light-blocking computer eyeglasses. They are non-prescription ones. I am wearing them right now. They are comfortable! We'll see whether they reduce my eye strain.

This week, I have been taking more breaks away from my laptop, which has helped a lot. Luckily, I have two more workdays before a long weekend, so that should help me recover.

Since I have changed my blog's comments access to members-only, the spam messages have ceased. I will keep it on for a bit before I test out going back to the original setting. Exciting!

Work laptop issues - ugh!

I have had a couple of issues with my laptop since returning to work. Tuesday consisted of my laptop screen going completely dark. I have a feeling that looking at that screen for a bit caused my eye strain, which I haven't felt in years.

Yesterday, I spent half the day with the IT helpdesk to get me connected to the corporate network. I had a Windows update, which screwed up the corporate connection.

It's enjoyable to be back at work. I need to go back on vacation, where I didn't spend a ton of time looking at a screen and dealing with technology issues. Ah, memories!

Eye update and relaxes after decluttering

On Friday, I visited my ophthalmologist. I haven't seen him for five months, which is a good sign.

I called earlier in the week to find out whether my appointment was still on. In a pandemic, sitting in a waiting room to get an injection in my eye is not the ideal situation. The woman at the clinic speaking to me over the phone indicated that safety precautions were top priority.

I asked about seating in the waiting room. Each row has four seats. I told her that I didn't feel comfortable if someone sat next to me. She said that they have measures to space people out. She also said that only patients who needed injections or were emergencies were being accepted. I felt better and went with it.

I was asked to wear a mask when I dropped by the clinic. I let her know that I didn't have one (I have since ordered one, which came in the mail after my appointment), and used a scarf instead. It worked well.

Sure enough, staff were great making sure that everything was sanitized. My regular diagnostic tests were streamlined down to my right eye, which had the issue.

My ophthalmologist was in good spirits. He said that he'd evaluate my eye in another five months and will likely stop injections. So, it is possible that last Friday was my last injection, which I am grateful.

I am fortunate that my blood vessel burst hasn't recurred. I bounced back nicely and my eyesight is practically back to what is used to be.

Switching gears a bit, I have been reorganizing my bedroom and decluttering. It's therapeutic. I feel relaxed and accomplished.

Evil eye bracelet - leaving the past behind

I have been wearing an evil eye bracelet for years. I had two different ones years ago, but they both broke.

My ex-boyfriend tried his hardest to get me a replacement. He first bought one from Winners, but it was too short. He eventually went to Istanbul and got me two different styles. I have been wearing the same one ever since.

Well, since he broke up with me, I have been wearing it because I love it so much. However, it was getting tarnished. It wasn't real silver. I decided to search for a new one. It took a while, but I finally have a sterling silver one with a blue evil eye.

Last weekend, I retired the old one. I also closed another chapter of my time with the ex-boyfriend. I have been doing it in steps. It's progress.

Vision is good

Yesterday, I got to squeeze in my appointment with my optometrist. All went well. I have nearly 20/20 vision again. Yay!

My prescription  is relatively stable, except for my astigmatism. It's exciting to get a new pair of glasses. I haven't for the last four years.

Eye appointment and sniffles

I am working from home day. I look forward to some quiet time, away from incompetent folks.

I need to schedule an eye appointment. I am due to see an optometrist. Here's hoping that I can get an appointment this week.

I'm a bit sniffly. It's not the best time to catch a cold, but I feel something coming on. Let's hope that I am wrong.

Being nice can make someone day and your own

I had my ophthalmologist appointment yesterday. I am doing great. My next appointment has been extended to five months. This one was four months later.

I didn't like dealing with one staff member there who had a horrible tone in her voice, accusing me of not signing a consent form and then asking for my health insurance. She was shocked when I questioned her on how often I needed to sign said form. I don't sign things because you tell me to. I need to know why. I enjoyed giving her advice to call patients for such details before they come into the clinic. No one likes surprises. No one likes to be told, "You didn't sign the consent form." Why can't people word things well these days?

Anyway, with my eyes dilated, sitting in the waiting area, an older woman sat down across from me. Our eyes met. I was smiling. She reciprocated. I think she made my day and vice-versa.

We started talking. My name was called. I apologized and went over for yet another brief test. We ended up sitting next to each other, as there are a couple of tests that shuffle you around the waiting area.

We got to talk. It was nice. She and her daughter drove from Wasaga Beach. It's a good distance to travel down for a medical appointment. She told me that there's tons of snow up there. There isn't any snow left in Scarborough.

When it was my turn to get my eye injection, I wished both of them a good day. They reciprocated.

It's good to be nice. Pass it on!

Diagnosing my mom's pink eye

I visited my parents after work on Friday night. My mom asked me to take a look at her left eye. It was all red where it should be whitish. It made me think that she has pink eye, which is also known as conjunctivitis.

I have had two bouts of it in my lifetime. The first was a good decade ago and it was the worst. An intern at my workplace had used the washroom and didn't wash her hands. I had washed my hands and then touched the same doorknob. I probably rubbed my eye and there it was. Pink eye.

After work that day, I went to get over-the-counter pink eye drops. A few days later, my pink eye had cleared up.

After letting my mom know what I think she had, I went to the local grocery store to get the same eye drops. I told my mom to give them a try.

On Saturday, I dropped by to see how she was doing. I could see some white in her left eye. She told me that she feels better, and that both my dad and she feel that she's getting better. Cool.

I'm not a doctor, but I am kind of glad that I have experienced pink eye to recognize it in my mom. Here's hoping that she's on the road to recovery.

Eye is doing well

On Friday, I had my eye injection. Even though I have been doing eye injections for over a couple of years, I am still not used to getting a needle in my eye.

I am thankful for each injection. I have recovered well from blood in my central vision, which was pretty scary when it happened. My ophthalmologist continues to tell me that I'm doing well. I like it.

Updates on my eye, Valentine's Day, cooking, and my guy

I have a few updates on various things.

On Friday, I went to see my ophthalmologist. My right eye is still doing well. I had my eye injection. I still see him every fourteen weeks, which is my favourite number.

He asked me an interesting question. He asked whether I have any new year's resolutions. I'm not the type to declare them. I have goals that I feel are attainable, such as decluttering in phases.

Then, there's Valentine's Day. One of my students indicated that she was bummed out not having a boyfriend to enjoy this day. I had to tell her that the day is overrated. Love happens all year round. Valentine's Day is just a reminder to those commercializing on this day to get flowers, candy, and hit a nice restaurant. It also tends to alienate those who are single. They need to know that they are loved by friends and family.

I cooked up a storm on Sunday. I made broccoli cheddar soup for the first time in my life. The recipe called for eight tablespoons of butter. Really? That seemed like way too much butter. I put in four tablespoons and felt that it was a ton.

My guy has made it safely to India. I have a feeling that he will have a tough time adjusting to the timezone, which is normal for him. I hope to hear from him when he isn't working or sleeping.

Evil eye bracelet and my guy

Roughly a month ago, a colleague complimented me on how pretty my evil eye bracelet looked on my wrist. I thanked her.

My guy bought me two evil eye bracelets while he was in Istanbul. I am wearing the one with evil eyes all around the bracelet. The eyes look dark blue on the outside. However, when light hits the blue parts of each evil eye, they appear purple.

It's a thoughtful gift. It reminds me of my guy when I look down at the bracelet. He's happy seeing me wear it.

Evil eye bracelets and pouring rain

Before I drove my guy to the airport over a week ago, he gave me presents from Istanbul. He had asked me what I wanted from the city.

It's easier for me to think of things that I'd like, for I have been to the city before. I asked him for looseleaf tea.

When we first met, I had an evil eye bracelet. It had a dainty chain that eventually snapped. I tried to repair it, but I couldn't salvage it after a couple of tries.

I then got a replacement one. Months later, that one died, too.

Istanbul is known for all things evil eye. So, I asked my guy if he could get me an evil eye bracelet. Not only did he get me one similar in style to the ones that I once owned, he got me another one that has small evil eyes all around the bracelet. I loved them both when I saw them.

It was raining fairly hard that day. I got soaked walking from the restaurant where we had dinner over to my car.
"I'm wet right now," I said, as my shirt and hair had absorbed some of the rain.
"Of course, you are," he said with a smirk.
"I didn't mean that!" I said. "Then again, I am sitting next to you."
"You're sweet," he said, holding my hand.
We got to the airport. I gave my guy my umbrella so that he could fetch a cart for his luggage. An older gentleman saw our umbrella exchange and smiled.

My guy came back and loaded everything onto the cart. We kissed and hugged. It seems more romantic when it's raining and you're saying goodbye to a loved one for a brief period.

A couple hours later, he called me.
"Hey, is your flight delayed?" I asked him.
"Yes, but only for forty minutes," he said. "I heard that it's pouring in Toronto."
"It was quite the downpour driving home, but I'm safe," I replied.
"That's good," he said.
"You're sweet. Thanks for the evil eye bracelets. I'm wearing one of them now. I love them," I remarked.
"I'm so glad," he replied.
He's thoughtful and sweet. It was nice to hear from him before his flight took off.

Evil eye bracelet and horniness

I had a good chat with my guy as I drove home from work last night. He was his usual sweet self, asking what I would like from Istanbul.

When we first started dating, I had an evil eye bracelet. It was a western version of the evil eye. The bracelet was sterling silver, except for the eye, which was a light blue colour. The eye itself was round. Sadly, I broke that bracelet. It was pretty dainty.

I got a replacement evil eye bracelet after that. The chain seemed less dainty. The evil eye was oval in shape and the blue colour was more pronounced. I also managed to break that bracelet. I tried fixing it, but it was a lost cause.

I asked my guy for a Turkish evil eye bracelet. I never thought about getting one while I was there, for I still had my evil eye one in working condition. If there is a place to get one, Istanbul is the place.
"No problem. Consider it done," he said.
"Thanks, sweetie," I said.
"You're very welcome, sweetness."
I also liked how he ended our call.
"Be good. If you are bad, I will need to spank you when I am back," he said.
"Now I'm horny as I drive home," I said.
He knows how to make me a happy good girl.

Being dopey after a handful of orgasms

After my guy had pleasured me a handful of times, we stretched out on the bed and cuddled for a bit. I reached down to play with his member, but ended up touching a different hard object.
"What's that?" I asked him, feeling an object similar to his hard cock.
"It's a hose attachment for hard water," he said, pulling it out of his pocket.
"It's looks like a butt plug," I pointed out, which made him smile.
"I need to go to the hardware store and get a replacement," he explained.
"I already have a hardware store here with you," I said.
I was pretty dopey. I held the hose attachment and looked through it.
"Hey, there's a hole. I can see!" I exclaimed.
"Yes," my guy said endearingly.
"Whoa, I can see your eyeball! I'll put it down," I said, scaring myself, which made him laugh.
I then decided to talk through it as if it were a microphone.
"Is anybody home?" I asked.
"I love when you're dopey," my guy said, kissing me.
It was partially his fault for getting me to this state. No complains from either of us, though!

Searching for a piece of my contact lens in my eye

I have been wearing contact lenses since my last year of my undergraduate studies. My experience cleaning and wearing them spans a couple of decades.

You would think that I have seen everything (no pun intended). Well, something new happened to me on Friday morning.

I did my usual routine of taking each contact lens out of my case filled with solution. I put my left lens in. I blinked. The lens immediately came out of my eye. It had split.

I was missing a chunk of it. My left eye felt fine. However, I had a feeling that it was still in my eye.

Naturally, I did a quick scan. I didn't see anything. I tried placing my finger over my eyelid and pushing down gently. I got nothing.

I could then feel something when I moved my eyeball left and right. I decided to gently cup water in my hand and dunk my eye in it. I did it several times.

Finally, I blinked my left eye and the remaining contact lens piece came out. Yay!

This experience was unexpected. I'm just glad that the missing contact lens puzzle piece has finally been solved.

Monday surprise - eye candy

Every Monday, I drive to work and participate in a conference call. The one this past Monday was pleasant and productive. We finished the call in half an hour.

I had fifteen more minutes to get to work. I finally made it.

The parking lot at work requires a bit of care. There is a pedestrian crossing, so you are expected to yield. Sure enough, a good-looking guy started crossing the lot. He looked at me. I waved at him. He smiled. I reciprocated.

I pressed the button to roll down my car window.
"Oh, my gosh, you're early!" I exclaimed.
"Yes, I am," my guy turned back and smiled.
"I'm super impressed," I admitted.
"Me, too," he chuckled.
I wish that all Monday mornings started off with eye candy.

Text messages to quick make the day better

It's almost instinctual these days that when I miss my guy, he will send me a pick-me-up message. It's just gut instinct.

He sent me a quick text message. He hoped that my eye is getting better and that I'm still enjoying the pics that he finally sent me after nearly two years since I had taken them on his phone.

The good news is that my left eye is back to normal. My rash on my wrist is still there, but the hydrocortisone cream that I apply on it seems to be helping.

I can also tell that it's a mutual vibe. He sends me texts more often when he misses me, too. It's nice.

Saving money thanks to my stable eye prescription

It has been two years since I last got my eye exam. Although I have felt that my nearsightedness hasn't changed, I still needed a new prescription.

Ah, the joys of getting older! Two years ago, my optometrist indicated that my nearsightedness was improving, which meant that I would start seeing changes when I read. Sure enough, it has slightly. I read better with my contact lenses out or my glasses off. Otherwise, wearing my contacts with my reading glasses (it's an extremely low prescription) works just fine.

On Wednesday, I had my eye exam. Typically, it costs me $90, with my health insurance helping to cover that cost. Since I had my eye stroke, my eye exam was considered a followup appointment. As a result, the Ontario health care system picked up the tab instead. Sweet!

My prescription hasn't changed. I get to keep my existing pairs of glasses. Yep, I got two pairs two years ago. There was a deal that essentially got me two pairs for the price of one. I love the cost savings!

Today, I ordered a six-month supply of contact lenses that combine correcting my nearsightedness and reading. I am looking forward to them. I tried them in the past and they were helpful, but that was roughly a year ago. My insurance picks up the tab.

It's nice saving some money. I am thankful.

My right eye is back to normal... yay!

Last Wednesday, I went to my ophthalmologist for an appointment. I used to go monthly. This appointment was the first one in two months, which is good news. It simply means that my right eye is making good progress.

To recap, I had an eye stroke back in late March. I had no idea what was going on. All I knew was that I was constantly looking through a water droplet and was getting dizzy.

I didn't think that I would make a fully recovery. Just reading up on various studies saying that it was rare wasn't the best news. My guy felt that if anyone could make a full recovery, it would be me. I didn't want to set my standards so high. He understood.

He was right. On Wednesday, I went in and did my eye test. I could read even the tiniest print during the eye test. I was shocked!

My doctor said that my right eye is 20/20, meaning that the blood splats have disappeared from my central vision. I am now seeing him every three months for my eye injections. There is still a chance that fluid will seep out.

I am thankful that my sight has been restored. It also helps that I have kept my stress and blood pressure controlled. My ophthalmologist cites bad luck as the cause. He also indicated that I am young to have this condition happen to me, so my recovery was easier. Handling a crazy workload at work back then didn't help. I am glad that things are much better these days.
