Happy 2026! Thoughts and dry eye

Happy 2026! I hope that your year has started off well.

Where I am, we had a record snowstorm on Sunday. Toronto Pearson International Airport got 46 cm of snow. Those closest to Lake Ontario got 60 cm, including my old neighbourhood of the Beaches.

I live in the suburbs. I got a lot of snow. I don't think it was 60 cm. It was a lot.

Last year wasn't the best. I ended up with a stomach ulcer, which required some medication, yogurt, probiotics, and Gravol. The medication made me gag, which explains the Gravol. Since then, I do feel like I gag more when I see something that triggers that feeling.

Weird.

I keep on saying that I have a lot to say. I truly do. I have a lot to post about my mom's recovery from her broken arm and my difficult relationship with my dad.

I will start off with December and work my way backwards in 2025.

I get my eyes examined every two years in December. Earlier in the year, I noticed that my eyes were getting dry wearing contacts. My eyes felt gritty and I'd often take my contact lenses out.

For most of 2025, I wore my glasses instead. My eyeballs felt better. I'd be putting in eye drops whenever I needed them.

My eye doctor said that my eyes were in great shape and that my prescription hadn't changed. She did notice that the pores were clogged under my eyelids by natural oils. It explains my dry eye.

She recommended putting warm compresses over my eyelids to melt the oils. I did that by heating up a mask in the microwave. It felt great over my eyelids, but the heat would die down after ten minutes.

I bought a plug-in eye mask instead for more consistent heat. I use it every day over my eyelids for twenty minutes. It's me time. I like how relaxing the heat is.

I feel that this eye mask procedure has helped. I wore contacts lenses for the first time in months last week. I had them on for three hours. They were comfortable. I didn't feel any grit.

I haven't tried wearing them to work. Baby steps. I'll probably wear them this Saturday when I run errands for a few hours and see how I feel.

I still use eye drops. I lubricate my eyeballs twice a day. It has been easy. I have eye drops in the washroom. I remember applying them after washing my face in the morning.

Just before bed, I apply eye drops before I fall asleep.

Time to use my eye mask. I'll try writing another post before January is over. I need to ease into writing more regularly again.

Verdict on using a tissue to eliminate eyeglasses from fogging up

I decided to skip a day posting here. Friday was pretty busy that I ended up taking a nap at around 22:30, woke up, brushed my teeth, and went to bed for another 7 hours!

My appointment with my ophthalmologist went well. He says that my eyes are healthy such that I don't need to see him for another six months. It's good that I don't need an eye injection. Here's hoping that this trend continues.

As for my eyeglasses fogging up, I tried the tissue technique where I had it folded as a strip at the top of my mask. At first, it did fog up, but not as badly as if I didn't have the tissue. Within a minute, there was no fogging at all. It was nice to do the eye test and not apologize for not being able to read the chart due to fog.

Another tip that I got was to wash your lenses with baby shampoo. You then let your eyeglasses air-dry. I haven't tried it, but I'm curious.

Foggy glasses when wearing a mask

I have an appointment with my ophthalmologist today. Last time I was there, I had to read the eye chart with my glasses and mask on. My glasses fogged up, so this task was difficult to achieve.

I just learned to use a tissue inside your mask, at the top, to prevent fogging. I'm going to try it and see how things go.

Years ago, I had anti-fogging spray that I used on my lenses. Perhaps I should get something similar again.

Working overtime

Yesterday, I put in a fourteen-hour workday. It's all thanks to three software developers who could not get the software deployment steps right until noon.

I have a deadline to get a draft out today. They added an extra eleven pages of content and revamped two major sections of this document.

Yeah, I'm not pleased with the extra hours that I have put in. On a good note, I hope that I can take Monday off with the extra hours that I have clocked.

My tarot reading post will need to wait. I need to rest my eyeballs.

My ex and his YouTube channel

I feel that I need to get rid of my ex-guy as a connection on LinkedIn. It's good that he was never interested in social media, so distancing myself from him on those platforms after he broke my heart has been easy.

He isn't on LinkedIn much. Neither am I. I go on there once every month or two. Well, in my feed wiht twenty notifications was a post from him. He invited people to look at his YouTube channel where he does book reviews.

My eyes rolled. They rolled hard. I checked one video out. I stopped after a minute.

He isn't the guy I fell in love with. All I see is an insensitive jerk who only contacts me these days when he's horny. He looks sincere in the video. I know better. It's a facade.

It took him a year to post these videos. He actually posted these videos in August 2019. I don't know why it took him a year to promote his channel.

I'm glad that he has a hobby. I simply don't want to hear about it.

Computer eyeglasses - do they work?

I am contemplating getting computer eyeglasses to reduce eye strain. I've noticed it more since I came back from vacation and have been back to the grind.

Do these computer eyeglasses help? Is it better to get something similar, but as a screen protector for a computer monitor or laptop screen?

I need to do some research. I haven't got a clue. I do know that I'm much happier not looking at a computer screen for hours.

Vacation, eyewear, and contact lenses

My vacation has begun. What have I done so far? I have ordered two new pairs of eyeglasses and two boxes of contact lenses.

Riveting stuff, right? I'm off to bed.

Happy weekend, everyone!

Allergic reactions, leather, and silicone

It has been an interesting week as far as odd allergic reactions go. I typically don't have any. This week, I had two.

On Monday, my left eye was itchy. It then decided to go into discharge mode. My contact lens hadn't torn, and I didn't have an eyelash caught between it and my eyeball.

It was snowing on my way home. I remembered that I had a small bottle of lubricating drops in my purse. Traffic was stop and go. When my car was at a full stop at a red light, I got some relief putting some drops in both eyes.

I got home and took my contacts out. My left eye had more of the itchy discharge than my right. The latter was starting. I had discharge all evening. Oh, fun! I did some research and it was an allergic reaction. What I was doing, which was putting moisturizing drops in my eyes, was the best solution.

Right now, I have a slight rash on my wrist. I have been using a stainless steel band on my Fitbit Alta. I have a feeling that I am allergic to it.

I changed my band to the replacement silicone one that Fitbit replaced. My original one broke and it was under warranty. We'll see if my rash will go away.

I suppose that I am simply either a leather or silicone strap person. It seems to be the case for watches, Fitbit devices, and perhaps spanking implements.

Reminiscing about my eyesight these days

I have been nearsighted since I was sixteen years old. The nice part about my nearsightedness is that it has never been a horrible prescription.

For a few years after getting my first pair of glasses, I could still get away with not wearing my glasses all the time. It wasn't until I got my first pair of contact lenses towards the end of my undergraduate years that I embraced my prescription.

I have been working from home these past couple of days. On Wednesday, I did a quick outing. I hopped in my car and drove off.

It wasn't until I was at the stop sign at the end of my street that I realized that I wasn't wearing my contact lenses. I was letting my eyeballs breathe. I didn't have my glasses with me, either. Yet, my sight was pretty good. I continued to drive to run my errand and was fine.

My right eye has gone through an eye stroke back in March. It's amazing how far I have come. My eyesight these days reminds me of being sixteen years old again. It's neat. I am just glad that I'm not that age!

W is for wine and whine

My guy and I had dinner one evening at the Olive Garden restaurant. I introduced him to this place when we were both in New Jersey a few years ago. We were both there for work. I was in a two-week training course. My guy was teaching a different course to fellow colleagues for a week.

The restaurant offers free wine-tasting. We both sampled the red wine offered that evening. He took one sip and gave me a boyish I-don't-like-it expression on his face, which included a lot of eye blinks and tongue flickers.

On the contrary, I loved the wine. My guy have me his and I finished it. Needless to say, I am more of a wine fan than my guy.

I playfully whine about how sore my backside is after my guy has punished me. We both enjoy that. When we aren't being playful or intimate, we rarely whine about much.

However, my guy does break out and whine about something now and again. It mostly deals with items at his favourite store, Costco. He only whines about not getting a shirt or wool pants in his size to me. I try to console him and often suggest that we visit another Costco location. This suggestion helped fix one of the two problems recently.

Although my guy doesn't like being referred to as boyish (it makes sense, as he is a mature, grown man), he is. It is who he is. There's nothing wrong with that at all.

L is for lap

I love being across my guy's lap for a spanking. It is probably my favourite position when I've been a bad girl.

I feel comfortable in this position while getting a decent spanking. I love grasping my guy's thigh tighter as he spanks me harder. It's fun attempting to use my free hand to cover my backside from his hand slapping me. Instead, he'll grab my hand, tightly hold it against my lower back, and continue punishing me.

As you know, I have Fifty Shades of Grey, the movie, on my iPhone. I am sharing a few screenshots of the movie taken off my phone.

The spanking scene where Ana rolls her eyes when Christian tells her that he sold her old Beetle for a brand new Audi makes me happy. He leads her over to the couch, pulls her across his lap, hikes up her skirt, and spanks her.

I like the motion shot when he is about to smack her bare backside. It reminds me of how my guy spanks me.

Of course, I like this screenshot, too. Christian asks Ana whether she wants more. She doesn't say anything, but you can tell that she likes it, which makes him smirk a bit.

I don't grow tired watching this flick. Thank goodness for purchasing movies from iTunes.

C is for cutting bangs

This past weekend, it was fairly nippy outside. I had to wear my knitted winter cap. Wearing this article of clothing isn't unusual these days, considering that it has been a cooler spring than the norm.

I have always had bangs. My bangs certainly needed to be trimmed. With the hat on, I could barely see.

So that evening, I decided to cut them myself. I think that I cut them shorter than I normally do. The good thing is that I won't have to trim them for a while. The bad aspect to trimming them so short is that I feel that they are actually too short.

Anyway, my guy is in the office this week for a few days. He is attending a seminar, which is a change from delivering one.

On Tuesday, we missed each other. We were supposed to go for lunch, but I was away from my desk when he had pinged me. Instead, my guy thought that we could talk after work for a bit. He had to leave to go to an appointment, but still managed to squeeze in some time.

We talked in one of the lunchrooms at the office. He was hungry and was heating up some oatmeal. I was hungry, too. He offered to share his oatmeal with me, but I didn't want too many carbs in my system to make me feel sluggish driving home.

He noticed my clear gel nail polish and loved how my nails looked. We chatted about our day for nearly half an hour.

My guy is perceptive. He told me that my bangs looked good, which made me look good. He is sweet.

We're going to try having lunch on Thursday. Yay!

Observations while being spanked and groped

My guy and I went out for lunch with a colleague today. I chose a local Chinese restaurant to frequent and drove us there. The food was delicious and the company was wonderful!

We had a good 1.5-hour break there. We chatted up quite the storm. We laughed a lot. My guy and I were sitting across from each other once again.

He looked longingly at my hands that were laying flat on the table. I could tell that he had missed me.

When we were leaving the restaurant, he held the door open for me, like the polite man that he is. I walked through it. He grabbed my left buttock, not once, but twice! I was aroused. He knew it.

For what seems to be years, I had always thought that my being spanked caused me to be extremely aroused and wet. Nope, it's more than that. I love being groped. I get turned on even when my buttocks are lightly caressed.

When you are over your spanker's knee, do you close your eyes while you are being spanked or are they wide open? Mine tend to be open. The last time that I was spanked, I was looking at my guy's Rockport shoes. I also observed that my guy was wearing grey socks.

On Friday, I casually asked whether my guy was wearing Rockport shoes again. He nodded. He was impressed that I knew what brand his shoes were.
"When you were spanking me last week, I was looking at your shoes and socks," I admitted.
"That's nice," he said, with a smile on his face.
"You probably had a better view than I did," I hinted.
"Yes, I love spanking that cute little butt of yours," he said sweetly. "We need sturdier implements, though."
"I should find that fuzzy purple paddle. I doubt that it'll break like the other implements so far," I smiled.
If a third implement is destroyed while I am being spanked, I am getting a lottery ticket. In either case, I am a winner.
