The ex dreamt of me

My ex-guy wrote to me recently. He had dreamt about me. He said that he missed me.

It was the most expressive that he has been since he broke up with me. By expressive, I mean showing that he isn't emotionless.

The problem is that he thinks that I'd do a staycation in his neighbourhood. Um, no. I used to do them because we could spend more time together. I have no need to be in your area, let alone tell you that I'm there.

You would love to see me. I don't want to see you. It won't happen because I am happy without you.

Snow update and bubble tea

The good news is that my street has been plowed. The bad news is that it's currently snowing again.

The temperature is expected to rise, so there should be a gradual melt happening. Perhaps I will head out later today. We'll see.

I was supposed to pick up free bubble tea with a friend yesterday. We both decided to postpone meeting up. We got so much snow that it didn't feel safe meeting up.

I'm glad that I went grocery shopping on the weekend. I technically don't need to get anything at the store for days. I would love to get some fresh air, though.

My manager has been away sick for the last two days. As much as I hope that he feels better soon, I like that my inbox has been nice and quiet.

Great conversation and dinner

On Friday night, I went out for dinner with a good friend. She was sweet to treat me to dinner. We are also colleagues.

I gave her Christmas gifts early. Next week, I'm travelling. I get back in early December and fly out again in less than two weeks. I didn't think that we could squeeze in another get-together.

It was great chatting with her. I don't normally talk about my ex-hubby or exes in general, but I did, as did she. It was therapeutic and I realized that I am in a good place in my life.

Later on today, I am getting together with a couple of friends that I haven't seen in over a year. I'm looking forward to it!

Long weekend catching up with friends

This long weekend has been great. I met up with three different friends on three different days. I spent Labour Day at home, resting!

It was great catching up with them. I hadn't seen one of my friends for two years. It was long overdue. It was like no time had elapsed when we chatted.

Thank goodness it's a shorter workweek.

Saturday outing with a friend

On Saturday, I met up with a good friend for ice cream, a stroll along the main street in a small town, and a late lunch. It was a great day!

I normally come to this town for ice cream. It was nice spending several hours here with great company.

We ate indoors. It was a great call. Moments later, a thunderstorm rolled into the area. Rain was coming down sideways. Wow!

Meeting up with a friend

On Saturday, I met up with my friend for a late lunch. It was the first time that both dined in a restaurant since the pandemic.

It wasn't on a patio or in a tent. We were sitting in a restaurant. It was great and we felt safe.

It was a bit different, but I was thankful to have spent a couple of hours with my friend whom I haven't seen since last September.

Bonus pay, relief, and friend

I gave my presentation online for work yesterday. It went well. I always feel great and relieved after it's done.

It's raining right now. I like rain at night. I find it soothing.

Yesterday, I got my bonus in addition to my paycheque. It feels good being temporarily rich. I have put the bonus towards paying off my debt, which continues to go well.

It's Friday at long last. I am seeing a friend, who is also my colleague, on Saturday. We haven't seen each other since last September. I am excited to catch up with her.

Hello, weekend!

I'm meeting up with two friends on Saturday. One is a former colleague. The other is my former intern. Both friends were on my team a couple of years ago.

I'm driving out to see them. It should take over an hour by car. I like a good day trip.

Happy weekend, everyone!

A break in the heatwave and a decision to not attend a work picnic

We've been in a heatwave for a while. We finally got a break on Monday.

It was nice to turn off the air conditioning, open the windows, and invite the cool breeze in. The humidity went away. It was great.

It's only for a brief period, though. It's supposed to heat up again later this week.

In Ontario, roughly 24 regions will go into phase 3 of reopening businesses during this pandemic. It means that 99% of the economy will be up and running.

Since my area went into phase 2 later than these regions, but ahead of Toronto by a week, we'll stay in this phase for a bit. I'm okay with it.

The other week, my manager wanted to have a picnic with our team We would be a group of eight people. I declined. I don't feel like driving an hour to see a few people in this group that I truly want to see. I also don't think it's exciting to get my own food, sit there, and eat it two metres away from everyone. It doesn't sound thrilling.

I am also not comfortable to congregate with a group. It's too soon. Frankly, I'd rather do it with close friends first before trying it out with colleagues.

Travel and friendship

I am all packed. I always feel like I have forgotten to pack something, though.

I am thrilled that I get to see a friend during this trip. I haven't seen her in a decade. I felt bad that I have not in touch with her as often as I would like.

It's good that she understands me. It's nice that our friendship remains strong and intact for nearly two decades!

Good weekend and making friends in the dating scene

This weekend flew by. I had a great time catching up with a couple of friends who are here on vacation. I feel well-rested.

The Labour Day long weekend is coming up. I am spending most of it in my ex-guy's hometown. I was there a few weekends ago and I felt good.

Although I still have moments of sadness when I think of him and our relationship being over, I am good. I decided to put out an ad on Plenty of Fish. I have responses. I simply need to sit down and sift through them. So far, folks are nice, wanting to have coffee and chat. I'm good with that.

Baby steps into building a friendship and seeing where it'll take me. It feels like a major step, but it's a positive one for me.

Wiping out on freezing rain

There was freezing rain overnight. On Monday morning, I headed out the door and to my car, trying to get to work.

I didn't realize that there was freezing rain on the driveway. I walked, lost my balance, and wiped out. I haven't wiped out in nearly a decade.

The good news is that my fall wasn't bad. I landed on my left hip, towards the back where the fleshiest part of it is. I was holding my hat with my mittens inside it in my left hand. When I landed, the stuffed hat acted as a cushion.

I told my guy that at work through text messages. He works from home most days.
"Glad you're okay. Are you at work or did you stay home?" he asked me.
"Yes, I made it to work," I replied.
"Take it easy. Thank goodness you're working from home on Tuesday and Wednesday," he replied.
He's sweet when he's concerned.

We are trying to get together this weekend. We like getting a hotel room. It's fun and enjoyable when we do.

A spanking before travelling

My guy and I are on travelling schedules for the next few weeks. It's nice that my guy is already planning my spankings before and after he flies off.

He leaves for Cairo on Saturday, so I am taking him to the airport. He is there for two weeks before he travels over to Istanbul for a week. Thank goodness we have Skype! So, I have a spanking coming up.

My guy returns a day before I fly to Shanghai. Unfortunately, we couldn't take our vacation weeks together. It's still fine. I have seen him a lot more on weekends these days.
"It's a pretty long flight for you," my guy remarked.
"Yes, it's a day sitting on a plane," I estimated.
"You are going to be so uncomfortable sitting there with a sore butt," he noted.
"That's mean! You can't spank me hard before I fly off," I playfully protested.
"Sure, I can. You're my bad girl and I will spank you before you go on vacation."
I like when he spanks me before I travel. I remember the first time he did that. It was a day before I few off to Las Vegas a few years ago. It's a sweet reminder of how loved I am and how much he enjoys spanking me.

D is for downstairs seeing my guy #AtoZchallenge

Mondays are typically blah. The countdown for the weekend kicks in immediately.

I tried to keep my work-related stress down. The morning went pretty well, even though I was in three meetings. It's nice that half the day blew by.

I had just finished eating my lunch. I was unwinding by watching a video podcast on my phone. My phone rang. It was my guy.
"Hey!" I exclaimed. "Where are you?"
"Hey, I'm downstairs in the lobby. I am here to fetch my car, but I have some manuals for you," he said.
"You just came in?" I asked him.
"Yes, I had to spend an unexpected couple of days in Frankfurt due to flight delays and cancellations," my guy explained.
"Sorry to hear. I'll come downstairs," I replied.
It was nice seeing him. Although he travelled a fairly good distance to get home, he was happy and in good spirits.
"Do you like my new coat?" he asked me, modelling a grey coat.
"It's woolly!" I exclaimed, caressing the fabric around my guy's chest area.
"It is," he confirmed.
"It suits you. It's the perfect length," I stated.
"I agree," he said.
"It's nice to have the real woolly. I cuddle up next to purple woolly. I love him," I told him, which made him smile.
"Do you hump him?" he teased.
"No, he's a plush! I'd rather hump you," I replied.
He nodded. He obviously approved. It was such a nice pick-me-up to see him.

Diametrically opposed periods

On Saturday, I spent the day with a good friend. We have been friends since grade 7.

Growing up, she lived in the suburbs and I lived in Toronto. We both went to the same senior public and high schools in the eastern part of Toronto. We were in touch while we attended different universities. I then moved away to another province and country, eventually finding my way back to the greater Toronto area. She ended up moving to Toronto and staying there. We still got together whenever I was in town and we kept in touch through the years.

In June, she will be moving to eastern Ontario, in a city that is roughly a two-hour drive away from me. It's not too bad, considering that we'll be meeting midway somewhere.

I am excited for her. The change will be good for her. Naturally, I will miss hanging out with her as frequently as we have been these days. However, distance has never been an issue for us.

As weird as this segment will be, we seem to be diametrically opposed in some areas of our lives. We both realized that menstrual cycles are one such area.

She let me know as we were driving to one of our favourite restaurants that she is perimenopausal. It basically means that she is experiencing irregular menstrual cycles and menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, earlier than you typically do as a woman. She seems to get getting her period every six months. Her doctor has said that either she will continue this irregular pattern or her period will cease.

As for me, I experienced the complete opposite experience. When I first got my period in grade 7, my period was irregular right from the start. Mine never happened monthly. Sometimes, it was six months later. Other times, it could have been a year. My thyroid checked out fine. I was given pills to regulate my period and so on.

It wasn't until I lost sixty pounds nearly six years ago that my menstrual cycle became a monthly, predictable event. Hormones are interesting. I had lost and gained weight many times in my life, and my period continued to be irregular. It wasn't until I lost a significant amount of weight and kept it off that my hormones stabilized.

So, my good friend and I are like two ships in the night, except that we are Cancerian and often meet by water.

Waking up in a haze and listening to my guy's voice

On weekends, I set my alarm for 10:55 am. I like to sleep in.

I woke up to the sound of my cell phone vibrating at 10:54 am on Saturday. I thought that it was my alarm. However, I was half asleep and it was actually a phone call coming through.

My guy was calling me. I didn't pick up in time and my voicemail kicked in.

I called him back.
"Hey," he answered.
"Hey," I replied. "I just woke up."
"Wow. I was hoping that I didn't wake you up," he said.
"I'm good now," I said in a sleepy voice.
"I'm heading out to my course. I have to fly out tonight. Do you have any plans?" he asked me.
"Do you have some time before your flight?" I asked him.
"I sure do," he said.
"I can meet you somewhere. I miss you," I stated.
"Likewise. How about at work?" he asked me.
"Sure. I can drive you to the airport," I offered.
"That would be great."
It was nice starting off my day by hearing his voice and knowing that we'd see each other.

Working overtime means a shorter post!

I was hoping to chat on Skype with my guy on Friday. Unfortunately, the various software releases at work kept me busy. Instead, we texted on Skype.

I worked nearly 11 hours on Friday. Our team ended up having a pizza lunch. I did the ordering and expensed the lunch. I also got to bring the leftovers home, which was essentially a medium pizza and nearly a 2 litre bottle of Diet Pepsi.

My guy's flight lands in the early afternoon on Saturday. It'll be great to see him again.

I am tired, so this post will be kept short. Off to bed, I go!

Mattress, love, and horniness

A few weeks ago, my guy and I bumped into each other at a liquidation centre. Neither one of us knew that we'd be shopping there that day.

We talked on the phone that evening.
"You looked good," I told him. "If there weren't so many people there, I would have thrown you on one of the mattresses."
"You looked good, too. I wanted to touch you all over. It was the best thing that happened that day," he admitted.
There is nothing like being in love and being horny all rolled into one.

A call, a date, and a spanking

On Tuesday, the last couple of hours at work were dragging. It was almost as if my guy had sensed that I needed a lift. He called me.
"Hey," I said, getting up from my work area and finding a room to talk privately.
"Hey, can you talk?" he asked me.
"Sure. What's up?" I asked him.
"I'm in Toronto. I am getting a navigation system installed in my car, like you did a few months back," he explained. "Did you want to meet for dinner?"
"Yes!" I exclaimed.
He truly wanted to see me badly. I told him that I'd leave work at 17:00, which is extremely early for me. He called me as I was pulling out of the parking lot at work. He called me again just as I had arrived at the car place to pick him up.
"Hey," he said, getting into my car.
"Hey," I reciprocated.
We kissed. We then held hands as I drove us to a different Chinese restaurant to try.

I'll write more about my day later. The not-so-surprising part of the day was getting a hard spanking. It's nice to write this blog post with a sore backside.

Hot weather and cheesy one-liners

The week has just started. I am already looking forward to the weekend.

It's a three-day weekend coming up. My guy and I are hoping to meet up on Saturday. He is going camping with a few friends on Sunday. He doesn't like camping, but goes to simply bond with his guy friends.
"I hope that you'll be wearing shorts or a skirt," my guy said to me.
"I probably will. It has been hot outside lately. You'll be there, so it'll be hotter," I said.
We have been a couple for a while. We even borrow cheesy lines from each other. We both think that it's sweet.
