To my fellow Canadians, enjoy today. To everyone, I am thankful for you. Your support here means a lot, especially dealing with heartache and enduring a pandemic, among other things.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!
It's officially Thanksgiving Day. I'm exhausted from making a feast yesterday. I get to recuperate today.

Weather, laundry, and closing off 2019
We had rain, freezing rain, and snow on Sunday. I hope that it will be safe for me to drive to work in a few hours. Otherwise, I'll need to work from home and dig out my laptop from my car's trunk.
I got back home yesterday and decided not to bring my laptop in with me. I had my luggage and groceries to haul home that I didn't think about my laptop at all.
I spent last night doing laundry. It's relaxing, as the machines do all the work.
It's December. I am looking forward to wrapping up this year. It hasn't been the best, but I'm doing well under the circumstances.

Sore left buttock, reflections of being single, and my staycation coming to an end
I did CPR exercises a couple of days ago. It required doing 30 chest compressions, followed by two breaths. I did this cycle five times. I was doing it on a mannequin.
Kneeling on the floor and doing these exercises has caused me to use muscles that I don't normally use. Oddly, my left lower buttock is achy. It's almost as if I was spanked in that area.
I still miss being spanked. It occurred to me that this Christmas will be the first without having a partner to love. To cuddle up to. To kiss.
It's perfectly okay. It isn't everything. I am thrilled that I am in good health. I am happy to be alive. I am grateful for getting this far.
Being in a hotel room allows me to relax and reflect. I like the idea of driving to work in 25 minutes. It has been great watching TV, which I don't normally do. This change has been refreshing.
Tomorrow, I check out and return home. I hope to do another staycation again soon.

Good weekend and making friends in the dating scene
This weekend flew by. I had a great time catching up with a couple of friends who are here on vacation. I feel well-rested.
The Labour Day long weekend is coming up. I am spending most of it in my ex-guy's hometown. I was there a few weekends ago and I felt good.
Although I still have moments of sadness when I think of him and our relationship being over, I am good. I decided to put out an ad on Plenty of Fish. I have responses. I simply need to sit down and sift through them. So far, folks are nice, wanting to have coffee and chat. I'm good with that.
Baby steps into building a friendship and seeing where it'll take me. It feels like a major step, but it's a positive one for me.

Training, Chinatown, and reflection
My first day of my training session went well and was fun. I learned a ton. Folks in my group are nice.
I am the only female in the group. It's great if I were interested in dating someone. However, many of the guys are married and I am not in that mode.
I walked around Chinatown after work. It's funny that I have visited Montreal a number of times and never explored Chinatown until this trip.
It's nice to change things up. The last time I was in this city was with my ex-guy. That trip ended up with my ex-guy getting into a moody mode and not wanting to be intimate with me for a bit. The more I think about our relationship, the more it makes sense that it's over. He didn't really treat me as well as he could have and his actions boggled my mind.

Thoughts about my ex-guy
My ex-guy has written a couple of e-mails to me since we broke up and entered new territory as friends only. I haven't responded to them. Part of me wants to break free of him. I am not ready to continue on as friends, as if nothing has happened.
The other part of me feels the need to write back, just to say thanks and that's it. It simply is polite.
However, I am entitled to all the time that I need for me. He has hurt me three times too many. He also needed time for himself to come to the decision that he no longer wanted to be with me.
I am at a similar crossroads. The difference is determining whether I want to remain friends with him. Frankly, he needs me as a friend more than I do him.
I am not fully healed. I have moments where I despise him. I miss him from time to him, too. I also tear up when I think of all the intimate moments that we have spent together.
Will it get easier? Sure. It's a question of time. Time is slowly healing me. That's the catch. I don't know how much time I need, but I know that nearly 1.5 months isn't enough to get over him.

Last post of 2017 - reflection and gratitude
I just looked at the number of posts that I have written in 2017. I am not sure what possessed me to write 346 posts. Somehow, I did it.
As many of you know, I am a writer by trade. It's simply in a much different form than what you have seen on my blog. This blog is the perfect place for me to unwind, put my thoughts somewhere, and share my fun spanking experiences with the love of my life, my guy.
I want to thank you for reading along this year -- perhaps even longer than that! Your support, encouragement, and friendship have meant so much to me.
I'd like to wish you a safe and happy last day of 2017, and a bright 2018 to come!
Love,
Cutiebootie
