Weird text conversation

I sometimes wonder about my new love interest. He says things that kind of make me wonder why.

Here's an example in the form of texts:
"Babe, what are we going to talk about?" he texted.
"What an odd question," I texted back.
"Yeah, I think so. I'm going to bed early," he wrote.
"Okay, what time were you thinking of turning in?" I asked.
"Soon. I don't have a time yet," he wrote.
Okay, perhaps he's not a natural conversationalist, but it's not like we have a set agenda when we start a conversation. You take a topic and you run with it. Yesterday, I found out that it was national pizza day and I didn't know. I ended up getting a pizza before knowing about this tidbit. So, we talked about it.

The other thing is that if you typically want to go to bed early, you have some idea as to when you want to go to bed. It was weird that he finally said soon. Twenty minutes later, we said goodnight.

Weird. Maybe it'll make sense to me later. Right now, it just seems odd all around.

Fabulous lunch, wine-tasting, and good deed

I had a fabulous lunch on Thursday. I went out with my department to a new restaurant and had a vegan pizza with lots of mushrooms. It was delicious!

Later on in the evening, I went to a wine-tasting event. I got to try three different white wines, followed by three different red wines. We also had food to nibble on. I loved it.

I said hi to a person at the event. We have crossed paths for a while. She rarely talks to folks. I decided to break the ice. It worked.

At the end of the event, she asked me if I could drive her to the closest intersection, so she could catch a bus. I said yes.

After talking to her in my car for a bit, I found out that she doesn't live too far from me. I offered to drive her home. She was so appreciative that she said that she'd buy me a coffee next time.

It pays to be nice and do something nice for someone, to make that person's day and yours.

Happy Pi Day!

I'm a math nerd. So is my guy. Happy Pi Day!

How do you celebrate this day? Perhaps having a slice of apple pie or pizza is fitting.

I just like how cool pi is. It's a mathematical constant. It goes on forever. It's neat.

My birthday

My guy spent this long holiday weekend camping. He absolutely dislikes camping, but it was a family event and had to join in.

This year, his family got a camper. I can't wait to hear what happened.

My birthday was on Monday. It was good. Many friends sent me nice thoughts and wished me a great day. I went to see Wonder Woman for free at the movie theatre. I ate my favourite pizza. It was a good day.

My guy has promised me a spanking when he is rested. It makes me happy, especially when he says that he likes when I am his bad girl.

Working overtime means a shorter post!

I was hoping to chat on Skype with my guy on Friday. Unfortunately, the various software releases at work kept me busy. Instead, we texted on Skype.

I worked nearly 11 hours on Friday. Our team ended up having a pizza lunch. I did the ordering and expensed the lunch. I also got to bring the leftovers home, which was essentially a medium pizza and nearly a 2 litre bottle of Diet Pepsi.

My guy's flight lands in the early afternoon on Saturday. It'll be great to see him again.

I am tired, so this post will be kept short. Off to bed, I go!

Pizza and a phone call from my guy

After work on Tuesday, I was hungry. My manager had shared his crazy cheese bread from Little Caesars with me earlier in the day. I loved it so much that I went to the nearest one by my workplace, which was on my way home.

I ordered a box special, which consists of four deep dish slices of pepperoni pizza and ten pieces of crazy cheese bread.

As I was waiting for my order, I did a bit of Web browsing on my phone. I then turned my data off.

A few minutes later, my phone rang. It was my guy. Of course, the woman behind the counter said that my pizza was ready, but the pizza was round. My order had square slices. I had to handle talking to both folks at once.
"Hey, I'm at Little Caesars," I said to my guy.
"I hope that we can talk now. My friend from Quebec City is coming over to stay overnight, so I won't be able to talk like we do at night," my guy explained.
"It's okay. What's your long-distance plan like on your cell phone?" I asked him.
"I don't care. The company pays for it," he replied.
"That's sweet," I said. "If you had to pay, you would be asking me to talk faster," I joked.
It's fun teasing my guy. We both have unlimited long-distance voice on our cell phone plans.

We talked for half an hour. I was hungry, so I ate in my car as we talked. It was kind of like having a virtual date. The food hit the spot. I don't do pizza that often. I should. I like the food here.
