Popcorn

On Sunday, I went out to pick up a dessert order. I rarely go out on Sundays, so it felt weird.

I managed to drop by a popcorn store that I haven't visited in over a decade. I was so happy that it's still up and running.

I love popcorn. I bought three large bags. There was a special where you buy two bags and get your third for free.

My popcorn stash should last me another week.

Spoke too soon and had another horrible night of sleep

I have figured out why I haven't slept well recently. I consumed strawberry black tea just before I had muscle spasm issues in my right foot and ended up having a couple of sleepless nights this week.

On Thursday night, I went out to redeem a couple of coupons for a free movie and popcorn at the local movie theatre. On my way home, I stopped by my favourite bubble tea store to get a strawberry black tea.

My guess is that the black tea had so much caffeine that it kept me up longer than it typically does. I normally am okay consuming it before 11 pm. However, for the past couple of nights, I finished the drink well past midnight.

I got through my day on Friday pretty sleepy. I went out for dinner with a couple of friends, came home, and slept for an hour in front of the TV. Ah, good times!

TV remote and memories of movie-watching

One of the many fond memories from time spent with my guy the other week was watching movies in bed. Instinctually, he would head over to the microwave oven and pop popcorn for us. We both love popcorn.

He watches more movies than I do. He doesn't mind watching movies that he loves again and again. Neither do I.

At one point, he wanted me to have the TV remote. He put it on my tummy. I was propped up against a pillow and was lying at an angle. The remote slid down my tummy to my crotch.
"Hey, I'm you, sweetie," I said, picking the remote up and having it stand erect from my crotch.
"You're funny," he said.
It's a fun memory to have.

Back from vacation with memories of playful spankings and cuddles

Both my guy and I are back home. We had a wonderful time together. I am frankly sad that my vacation is over.

It was nice seeing him after work for just over a week. We went out for dinner. We also ordered in when he was exhausted.

Our hotel felt like our home away from home. We watched movies and made popcorn. I helped him wake up. We hugged and kissed just before he went to work. We did the same when we came back to our hotel room.

Moments after I entered our hotel room for the first time, we sat down on the couch and cuddled. I liked when he playfully spanked and tickled me. He felt my left bicep and we had this conversation.
"You are a strong woman," he said, squeezing my bicep.
"Thanks, sweetie. You're strong, too," I replied.
"Your arms are so strong," he said, marvelling my biceps as he held me.
I like when we are playful and loving. I enjoy when he playfully spanks me, which is a precursor to future spankings.

Movie night full of cuddles

Whenever my guy travels, he watches a ton of in-flight movies. A while back, he told me that he had watched Creed. He thought that it was okay. I asked why. He couldn't explain it until I asked whether it moved him. It didn't.

I am doing a staycation in the same city in which both my guy and I are employed. It's a nice suite with a kitchen. It's cozy.

My guy and I spent part of our evening cuddling and watching what was on TV. We decided on a movie. It was Rocky Balboa.
"Did you like the movie?" my guy asked me after it was over.
"I did. It had a nice, emotional build as the movie progressed. How about you?" I asked him.
"I liked it, too. Having you watch a movie with me always makes it better," he said, being his sweet self.
I have missed watching movies with him, cuddling, eating popcorn, and just being together.

Storm, travel, and Turkish delight

My guy is here for a few days before he flies off to Istanbul for business this weekend. We both didn't see each other on Tuesday, due to the snowstorm.

The snowstorm was a bit disappointing. Both of us did not get the predicted accumulations in our respective neighbourhood. We both worked from home. The good news is that I am glad that I did. The winds were extremely gusty that it wouldn't have been worth it to do the commute to and from work.

As usual, my guy is sweet.
"What would you like from Istanbul?" he asked me.
"I just want you back in my arms," I replied.
"You always have me," he said sweetly. "Did you want some Turkish delight?"
"Sure. If there is raspberry, I'd like that."
He's thoughtful. He told me that he thinks of me fondly whenever he is at this airport. It was my first time in a fancy lounge that had leather seats, a movie area, and fresh popcorn.

I remember how he bought me a snack from Starbucks and how he had to ask me where the lounge was. My guy is the first to admit that he is directionally challenged. Luckily, I am different.

Fifty Shades Darker is a day away from being in the theatres... I can't stand it!

I cannot contain my excitement! Although I won't have a chance to see Fifty Shades Darker on its opening day, I am so excited. I can't stand it! The wait is killing me.

There is yet another new trailer for the movie. I can't find the one where Christian Grey is working out on a pommel horse. It is a mighty impressive pose! However, this trailer makes me equally as happy:

I am going to do my best to go see this movie on Saturday. My guy said that he'd like to fondle me while watching the movie and vice-versa. He thinks that it can be done if we're sitting at the back of the movie theatre.

I like how he thinks. He also told me that he would get me real Diet Coke and not bring microwaved popcorn to the theatre... haha!

I can't wait for him to return home.

Mushy messages from my guy while travelling

On Sunday, I completely missed the following text sequence from my guy:
I'm in Istanbul in transit
I think of you every time I go to that lounge
Especially when I see the popcorn machine
And the recliners
My guy travels a lot and has access to the lounge at that airport. We have been to this airport together four times.

When we first got there, it was like being in heaven. You have food stands everywhere. You can drink anything that you want.

We ended up in the movie area where there are leather lounge chairs. They recline. My guy and I napped there during a ten-hour layover. Behind us was a popcorn machine. I helped myself to some popcorn because I love it so much.

I didn't realize how mushy my guy can be until I read his message. He misses me.

Q is for quibble

I normally have difficulties trying to find a topic that starts with the letter q that I can write about. Well, I had a weird encounter today and feel like it's good to share it.

I went to the movies on Saturday, in the afternoon. I finally went to see Batman vs. Superman. I felt like I was the last person in my circle of friends and colleagues who hadn't seen it. Well, judging from the turnout, I didn't feel bad.

To me, the best spot in the theatre is in the centre, in the second row from the walkway in front on the section. The reason is that I can rest my legs on the metal horizontal bar. I have long legs and I like to stretch.

I bought a bag of popcorn and a drink. I had asked for a cardboard tray, being the klutz that I can be. I put the cardboard on the seat to my right, which was resting on the armrest on the right. I also placed my purse on the seat.

While the trailers were being shown, about seven minutes before the movie was about to begin, a family of three came over. The woman decided to sit right next to the seat that my cardboard tray and purse were. Had it not been there, I am sure that she would have sat next to me.

She looked over at me. I decided to move my tray so that she wouldn't hit it with her elbow. She went one step further and told me to put it on the other side.
"It's fine," I said, smiling.
"Pardon?" she asked.
"The tray is fine here," I said.
"Pardon?" she said again.
"It's okay," I said, saying it a bit louder.
"Why are you yelling?"
"Never mind. All is good."
First, I knew that it was a losing cause when she clearly couldn't hear me while the loud trailers are taking place. Second, I didn't understand her hangup. My moving the tray wasn't interfering with her armrest space. Third, she allegedly couldn't hear me. I needed to raise the volume of my voice, which is completely different than yelling. Fourth, after her not hearing me more than once, it became a pointless exercise to continue.

I read people pretty well. I knew that she was the type who causes trouble and wants everything her way. She came in late and was being rude disrupting my time watching the trailers.
"I was just saying that you can move it to your left," she continued.
"That's okay. I moved it over here," I explained.
"Pardon?" she said. I got fed up, but I was still polite about it.
"I wasn't being rude. It seemed like you couldn't hear me, so I talked to you louder," I said, and continued to watch whatever was left of the trailer.
She actually managed to be passive-aggressive by asking whether I had "paid" for the seat that my tray and purse were occupying. I finally decided to take the high road, and ignored that question and her. The theatre was busy, but it was barely 30% full. The only person who seemed to have taken exception for some inexplicable reason was this woman. She had her husband and probably nine-year-old son. Three people with plenty of room in a row that could easily fit twenty people is not a reason to claim to be hearing-impaired and attempt to spoil my day. With me and my purse, 25% of the row's capacity was occupied.

Well, I could tell within the first five minutes of the movie that her son was not interested in watching it. Later, she spent two minutes rattling a plastic bag, cracking shelled peanuts. After that, she spent another minute trying to open a bag of candy. Fun!

I would estimate that this family left halfway through the movie. The family had grown to five people who just picked up and left. Good riddance!

So, my original thought was correct about this woman. She was trouble and I should have ignored her from the start. At least I eventually did ignore her.

Pardon? I think she needs to get her hearing, her head, and her personality examined. She needs help.

Blog posts, texting, and gifts

One of the main reason why I haven't posted much these days has been because I have been texting on Skype with my guy. When my guy was in Seattle, we had a three-hour time difference. Luckily, I am a night owl, so we would text at around midnight my time. This period is normally dedicated to my blogging up a storm.

So, I have been moonlighting here and there, trying to find alternative times in the day to blog. It's difficult, especially when I work long hours.

Anyway, I hope to get back to more regular blog posts. This post is a good start.

A week ago, my guy brought back a number of gifts for me. Here they are in no particular order:
  • Selfie stick
I have been fighting getting one. I don't exactly want to join the self-absorbed number out there who take lots of photos of themselves. My guy and I thought that it's helpful to have one when you are travelling alone. We tend to ask other tourists to take our photos, but they don't always turn out as great as you had hoped. I always joke that you can't see the background when I take a selfie because my head is so big. My guy laughs at my remark, but he has always insisted that I exaggerate that point. He says that roughly two-thirds of a person's head is in a selfie.

Anyway, he got me a selfie stick with a button on the stick itself. It's pink (he couldn't find one in purple, so this colour is my next preferred one). I must admit that it is a lot of fun. I will use it when I travel and when I want my guy to be in a photo with me.

He bought this item in Seattle for $10. The same model is double the price in Toronto.
  • A glass popcorn popper
To make a long story short, I like small appliances. I already have a popcorn popper. My guy and I were talking about small appliances. I indicated that I wanted a s'mores maker, but they are only sold during the holiday season. I don't get that, considering that you have s'mores when you go camping.

I had mentioned to my guy that he could get me a hot dog maker. He flat out doesn't want me to indulge in hot dogs, which I find delicious. In our conversation, he joked that my wanting a hot dog maker was making him angry and said that I should be punished for bringing that request up. I pouted and my guy caved.

"Why are you saying yes to buying me a hot dog maker?" I asked him.
"I would buy you anything," my guy said in his sweet way.
    "You're caving," I replied.
"I know, but I can't be Mr Meanie forever."

Anyway, I like the idea of popping kernels in a glass container in a microwave, without adding oil. So, he bought that for me, which I love.
  • Dark chocolate edamame from Trader Joe's
A couple of years ago, I had mentioned to my guy that I loved dark chocolate edamame. I love edamame and dark chocolate separately. Naturally, I would love them together. My guy went to Trader Joe's for the first time and bought me a couple of boxes.

I had mentioned casually that I was rationing my last box. He brought back two more boxes. I don't have to ration for a while.
  • LED light for seasonal affective disorder
My guy suffers from bouts of depression. I get sad now and again, but it is nowhere as serious as what my guy deals with. Instead, my mood goes downhill when it's cloudy outside, especially during the winter.

When I lived in the Central timezone (Manitoba and Minnesota, specifically), there were far more sunny days than there are in southern Ontario. When it's cloudy outside, I feel sluggish and blah.

When my guy and I first started dating, I told him about a light that I strap around my head that improves my mood. It works, but it's not the most comfortable device, especially for someone like me who has bangs and can't see what I am doing. My guy got me a stand LED light that does the same thing, except that it sits on the table next to you. It solves my I-can't-see issue with the headlight strapped around my head.
My guy gives thoughtful gifts. I still have to talk about the gifts that he got me when he was in Mexico.

J is for Jill of all trades

I have been pondering what topic I could possibly write about that starts with the letter j. I actually had to find j words in the dictionary for inspiration!

I like Jello. It's one of those desserts that can have no calories. Putting coloured gelatin in fun moulds is a lot of fun. Jello jiggles, which makes me giggle.

Then, there Jif, the peanut butter that you can only get in the United States. I grew up watching commercials for the product on TV, but it wasn't and isn't available in Canada. Instead, Kraft peanut butter is the most popular brand here.

As a kid, I was fascinated by Jiffy Pop, the popcorn that you pop over a stove burner. I begged my mom to get me one. We did. It was a lot of fun. I haven't seen too many of them for years.

Instead, I am going to write about the phrase, Jack of all trades. My guy fits this definition. He has many skills. The difference is that he does practically everything well.

I first noticed how quickly he picks up new skills when we first started dating. When he spanked me for the first time, it felt like he had done it before. He told me afterwards that he had watched a spanking movie, just to make sure that he got the basics down pat. He sure did and he has honed this fine skill!

A few months later, I taught my guy how to use chopsticks. He is a pro at it. I also got him to say my name in Cantonese. He still remembers it.

People have told me that this saying applies to me, except I am more of a Jill of all trades. My colleagues marvel at the fact that I am pretty versed with our software product, which is highly technical. Our product makes sense if you have a background in programming, which I am fortunate to have, but don't claim to be an expert. I am different because most technical writers are not that technical. They tend to have an Arts degree in English, for instance.

I am far from knocking an Arts degree. Studies have shown that folks with an Arts degree are well-rounded individuals. I believe it. I am an artsy person. I listen to music all the time. I grew up playing various musical instruments and singing in the choir. I love attending concerts, ballets, plays, and musicals. I could go on and on.

I tend to be a quick learner. I have to, as there are more software features that require documentation than I can keep up with.

It's helpful to constantly want to learn. I can't drive a standard car, but I want to. My guy can, but wants to teach me with a rental car. His own car is an automatic, as is mine.

My guy wants to learn how to upholster various pieces of furniture. He tells me all the time that he learns a lot from me. The feeling is mutual. Wanting to learn also makes you curious and interested in people, places, and things.

We are Jack and Jill. Maybe that's one reason why we get along so well.

Here today, gone tomorrow...

My guy was back in the office on Monday. I got there and noticed his new jacket on his desk chair. He was likely in a meeting.

I went to my desk to get settled in. Underneath my desk was a bag from Trader Joe's. I had asked him to get me a small box of chocolate-covered edamame. I love edamame, but have never heard of them being covered in chocolate until a friend had posted a picture up on Facebook. I included the photo for my guy and even did the research to find the address for him. He was kind to pick that up for me while he was in Dallas.

I had mentioned that if he couldn't find the edamame, that it would be okay. I would be happy with getting a slice of iced lemon pound cake from any airport at Starbucks in the States instead. I have no idea why Starbucks cafes in Canada to not offer the same baked goods.

Anyway, my guy got me pecan popcorn and some dashboard wipes, too. It sounds weird, but he knows that I like popcorn and that we have a joke about seeing a movie. He'd get me real Coke and popcorn. We both have a thing for sprucing up our cars, so he thought that the dashboard wipes would come in handy.

On a break from his meeting, he came up to talk to me. He told me that my slice of lemon pound cake was in the communal fridge in the kitchen. I was so pleased. I gave him an either-or option between picking up the edamame and the lemon cake. He opted to get both! I am a lucky girl.

I looked at what he was wearing.
"Is that your new shirt [that you got at Costco]?" I asked him.
"Yes," he said. It was white with blue stripes. It was perfect for spring, which is around the corner.
"It looks great! Button," I said, noticing that one of his shirt buttons was not done up and touched his chest.
"Thanks," he said, as he went to button it up.
"Or, you can leave them all unbuttoned. I don't mind," I said.
We talked for a bit. He touched my right elbow. I went to squeeze his hand. We held hands for a bit while talking.
"We need to have a meeting," he said quietly to me.
"Yes," I nodded.
We left work just before 18:00. I left first. I had parked in the lot about two cars away from my guy's vehicle. I went to back up, looked to my right, and my guy was staring at me. He startled me. I shifted my car to park and rolled down my window, explaining how startled I was. He smiled at me.
"Did you want to grab some dinner at the Chinese restaurant?" he asked me.
"Are you hungry?" I asked him.
"I am. You?"
"Not really, but I might be by the time we order food. Okay."
So, we drove over to what seems to be our regular dinner hangout by work. I got there first and waited for my guy, who parked next to me. I noticed his new bomber jacket that he was wearing. He looked nice in it.

We found a quiet corner in the restaurant. We sat next to each other. We held hands. It's an interesting dynamic that we have. I am the one who always has warm hands. He doesn't. I tend to warm him up.

My guy was subtle. He told me that he missed me. He then moved my hand and placed it over his crotch. Yep, his cock had missed me, too. I had fun touching it a few times during our conversation at the table, just to see how his horny meter was doing.
"What's yummy?" I asked, trying to decide what to order from the menu.
"You," he said without any thought.
He's sweet and horny. It's a nice combination.

We did get our food. He said that we should eat fast. I told him that we could have been in the treehouse by now, but his hunger got in the way. I said that he could wait for another thirty minutes. My guy is like a little boy sometimes.
"I don't think I can wait. I will explode!"
"No, you won't. You'll be okay."
I like placing my hand on his thigh, caressing and squeezing it. My guy commented that he loves when my hand just warms up any area that I have it on him.

He is a gentleman. He escorted me to my car and opened the door for me. He then grabbed my left buttock. I was getting incredibly turned on. I had missed his touch.

We drove over to our usual spot and got into the treehouse. He was being his sweet self by saying how beautiful I was.

We locked lips. We kissed. It seemed like ages since his sweet lips were pressed against mine.

He groped my right breast. His hand went under my sweater. He took my breasts out of my black bra, which he loved and told me so. He sucked them. He told me that he had missed them. He loved having his head between them. He enjoyed playing with them.

He fingered my clit. I was wet. He continued to play with me. Moments later, I came. It was long overdue.

I rested in his arms for a bit. Our lips met again. We kissed some more.

He bent me slightly over his knee. I didn't get spanked. Instead, he fingered my butt. My face was caressing his left hand. He liked what I was doing. My orgasm was intense. I was weak after coming a second time.

I rested my head on his lap. He flipped my hair over so he could see my face.

I eventually had enough strength to sit up. We embraced.
"I can't take this any more. I am going to die if I don't take it out!" my guy said, undoing his belt.
"You are not going to die!" I told him. "You can't. There wouldn't be any treehouse time."
We kissed some more. I wrapped my fingers around his hard penis and started giving him a handjob. We unlocked lips for a bit. He wanted me to kiss him while I jerked him off. So, I did. My lips seemed to be perpendicular to his. I traced my tongue around his soft lips. We French kissed. He was extremely excited.

He came. He came a lot. He was incredibly dopey afterwards. And yes, there was a mess that needed to be cleaned up.

We chatted after for a bit while being in each other's arms. It was raining outside.
"There's a chance that I will be flying out this week," he told me.
"I know. It's a part of the job."
"I'll let you know," he reassured me.
We are closer than ever. He tells me these sorts of details as they happen. In the past, he would tell me at the very last minute. Mind you, it wasn't his fault. He always is made aware of these trips on short notice.

We hugged and kissed a bit more before we left the treehouse. We hugged when we got out, too. He then walked me over to my car.
"I will miss you," he said to me.
"You will?" I asked him. Normally, I am the mushy one.
"I always miss you," sealing the deal with one final kiss for the evening.
On Tuesday, my guy told me that he is flying off to Trinidad on Wednesday. I am happy that he is travelling more these days. He told me to be well and that we'd be in touch.

I have reassured him that exchanging e-mails last week made our time away from each other easier. He indicated that he would make more time for me on Skype compared to his last trip. I could tell by our evening out on Monday that he didn't want us to not talk. He said that he missed hearing my voice, and seeing my face and hair. He missed that along with the physicality of our relationship. It's a mutual feeling. It was nice to be in his arms again for a bit.

Generic versus real Coke discussion after treehouse time

A couple of Mondays ago, after spending some quality time together, my guy and I chatted. We tend to chat about practically everything under the sun. My guy has mentioned that he likes when we chat equally as much as when we are intimate. I would have to agree with him!

Do keep in mind that we are dopey most of the time. We talked about Cinderella. My guy thought it was stupid that the prince was looking all over the place for a princess to have her foot "fit into a shoe." He thought that the story was not giving a good impression on children. What was even funnier was that he ended up switching the roles around. So, a male version of Cinderella was Cinderello. In a recent e-mail to my guy, I called him that. I ended my e-mail my addressing myself as Princess Charming.

We then talked about how great it would be for us to go to a drive-in movie. We spend so much time in the car that we might as well watch a movie there, too! Both of us have never been to a drive-in movie before. You'd think that two people who enjoy going to the movies would have done that before. So, we'll be trying that out when it's warm outside.

My guy teased me and poked fun at himself. He thinks that I think that he's cheap. I have told him that he's frugal -- that he understands how valuable it is to save money, but he's not a penny pincher where he's reluctant to spend any money.

We both liked the idea of going to the movies together. My guy joked that he'd smuggle in some generic soda pop. I said that I'd microwave some popcorn at work and then we could smuggle it into the movie theatre. I went one step further and said that we could get some Jiffy Pop and we could heat it over his car's warm engine. We both cracked up.

We both became rather sweet to each other in a serious moment of sorts.
"I'd get you real Coke," my guy insisted.
"Really? Real Coke?" I asked, as if I didn't believe him.
"Yes, I'd get you a 500 ml bottle of real Coke and I'd buy you popcorn, too."
"Wow, that's sweet," I replied.
"Anything for my girlfriend."
It was the second time that he has called him his girlfriend. It's significant because we know that we're a couple, but he has never called me his girlfriend. Likewise, I have never called him my boyfriend. We know that we are in a loving, happy, meaningful relationship. We are important to each other. We simply know that. However, it was nice that he said that. He knows that he's my special guy.

I hugged him even tighter. He reciprocated. It's how we roll, I suppose.
