Sodastream machine and my beverage centre

On Saturday, I picked up my new Sodastream Fizzi One Touch machine that I had already paid for online.

I love it. I have made root beer and raspberry mint beverages so far.

The instructions that you get from Sodastream on using your machine are like those from IKEA. They are all diagrams. One reason for pictures is that companies save on translation.

Well, I still needed to go online to watch a Sodastream video on how to use it. I'm good now!

I have decided to create a beverage centre on the top floor of my home. It occupied a small corner of my den. I spend a lot of time working from home on this floor. It makes sense that I house my Keurig (I need to dust it off, as I can't remember when I last used it!) and Sodastream machines. I also bought a stand for my K-cups years ago that can come out of its box.

I have a small kitchen, so having these machines on the counter takes up way too much space. I typically bring my iced tea and beverages upstairs anyway, so having these machines up there makes sense to me.

My long weekend is coming to a close. It was nice taking it easy and relaxing.

Happy birthday to me!

I made it! I'm a year older and am still grateful to be alive in this odd time.

This birthday girl will be administering her own birthday spanking. It would be nice to have a spanking machine or an extra hand (haha!) in the matter. I'll supply more details once the festivities are over.

Issues with my Mac mini and file backups

I had a bit of a scare with my Mac mini a couple of days ago. It was one reason why I didn't post anything in my blog for a bit. Yesterday, my Mac mini was still out of commission. I used my laptop to make my update.

The last time I used my Mac mini was the night before I went on vacation. When I came back, I uploaded all my photos to my computer and then shut it down.

The next day, my Mac mini would not boot up. You typically get a white progress bar and then your screen to sign in. I ended up with a black screen with four options to restore my computer. It wasn't a good sign.

I rebooted it a few times. I got something different each time, including a circle with a slash across it. My Mac mini was also trying to detect the power button and my wireless mouse, but was unsuccessful.

I decided to unplug my computer's power cable from the wall outlet, wait for roughly five minutes, plug it back in, and start my computer up. Guess what? My computer came back to life. Yay!

I did some research online. This incident happens when an automatic software update starts, but doesn't install completely. It must have happened while I was uploading my photos, but I had no indication that an update had happened. Powering off my computer cleared this installation process up and allowed my computer to boot up properly.

The last time this computer died on me occurred when I was upgrading the operating system. I went to the Genius Bar at my local Apple store. For some reason, genius sounds sarcastic in my head. The solution was to reinstall the operating system, which meant that whatever files weren't backed up would be lost.

I was bright back then to have the majority of my important files, the bulk of which are my photos and music, on my external hard drive. Wiping my entire hard drive was fine. I restored them just fine.

However, after restoring my Mac mini, my music remained on my external hard drive, but my photos had to be on my computer's hard drive to sync properly with my iPhone.

This recent scare made me decide to do the following:

  • Move my Photos library back to my external hard drive. I don't own an iPhone anymore, so I don't have the need to store this library on my hard drive.
  • Back up my Mac mim's hard drive.
The second point is significant. I don't know why I never got around to backing up my data. The photos that I take on my Google Pixel phone are automatically backed up to Google Photos, so I"m good there. My photos taken with my DSLR camera are not backed up. Should I lose them on my hard drive, I have nothing.

Right now, I am in the process of moving my photos from my hard drive to my external hard drive. I have 170 GB of photos. It will take a while!

I also have Time Machine set up to back up my files at long last. Better late than never, as the saying goes.

My new sewing machine to create a micro skirt

Each year, around Christmas, I tend to pick up a new skill or a skill that I once used often. This year, I have it down to three:
  • Knitting
  • Crocheting
  • Sewing
I taught myself how to knit with needles years ago. I never got around to binding off, so I definitely need a refresher there.

I don't know how to crochet with a needle. I simply know how to finger-crochet a single, linear row.

By sewing, I am referring to using a sewing machine. I haven't done that since my early undergraduate years.

On the weekend, I bought a sewing machine. It's a portable one that weighs five pounds. It is far from being a toy, but it's a good starter machine for me. It also came in purple, so I had to.

I am tired of hand-sewing clothes that have unravelling seams. I need a sewing machine that keeps my threads in place a lot longer.

I broke the news to my guy.
"I always like that you are constantly learning," he said to me.
"Thanks! It keeps my mind sharp," I replied.
"With practice, you can sew a micro skirt. I'd love to see you in and out of that," he hinted, smiling.
"I could give that a try. Maybe I'll start with a pillowcase, as you love to sleep, and then move up to a skirt" I replied.
"You're sweet," he said.
It's exciting to be creative and crafty.

Mushy messages from my guy while travelling

On Sunday, I completely missed the following text sequence from my guy:
I'm in Istanbul in transit
I think of you every time I go to that lounge
Especially when I see the popcorn machine
And the recliners
My guy travels a lot and has access to the lounge at that airport. We have been to this airport together four times.

When we first got there, it was like being in heaven. You have food stands everywhere. You can drink anything that you want.

We ended up in the movie area where there are leather lounge chairs. They recline. My guy and I napped there during a ten-hour layover. Behind us was a popcorn machine. I helped myself to some popcorn because I love it so much.

I didn't realize how mushy my guy can be until I read his message. He misses me.

X is for bent over a Xerox machine for a spanking

Each floor at the office has a printing room. We happen to have an all-in-one machine that prints, scans, staples, and faxes. It is indeed a Xerox machine in all our printing rooms.

I had the most delightful fantasy the other day. My guy and I are fetching our printouts in one of these room. The paper jams. I try and fix the issue, but the printer just sits there, out of service.

My guy has an important document that he needs and blames the malfunction on me for no apparent reason.

I protest. He feels that I have gone too far. He bends me over the Xerox machine, pulls down my panties, lifts my skirt up, and spanks me hard with his bare hand.

It would be wonderful if we could re-enact this fine scenario one of these days. The problem is that our rooms are not completely private at the office. We have windows where people can peek through. So, we'd have to give this a whirl after hours.

Of course, having a somewhat not-so-private room makes this scenario exciting!

Catalogue of cute bottoms?

Just a wacky thought.  With roughly a week to buy all your Christmas gift and such, wouldn't it be nice to give the gift of spanking to a naughty little boy or girl?

As an example, I would love it if G gave me a magazine where I could either select from a number of cute backsides to spank to my heart's content.  Or, if it were my birthday, not only would I get my celebratory spanking from G, but I could also have another firm hand administer my much deserved birthday smacks.

Of course, I'd have to see if G would like another spanker smacking my soon-to-be crimson backside.  Still, a girl can dream, right?

This dream is similar to going up to a vending machine and selecting a spanking implement to be used on my bottom.  The downside is that I'd need to rob a bank.  I just need a drawer!
