Documents are done. Now what?

The good news is that I completely my two documents last night. I can finally do regular work later on today.

I am thrilled that I don't have to look at an ugly spreadsheet for a bit. I am thankful for the extended deadline.

I have worked so many extra hours that I am taking most of Tuesday off. I could technically take the whole day off, but I'll work 2.5 hours in the morning before I get my car serviced. I have a backlog of work that I should have got to last week.

I plan on taking Friday off. Monday is Family Day here, so it'll be an extra long weekend. I'm debating whether I want Tuesday off.

It's Valentine's Day. If you are celebrating today, enjoy it. Otherwise, know that you are loved.

Snow, errands, and recipes

It's snowing. I was hoping to run an errand later on today, but I think that I'll just stay at home and try on Sunday instead.

This business has curbside pickup from Wednesday through Friday, and Sunday. I am typically running errands on Saturday. So, I have either Friday or Sunday to drop by the store and pick up a couple of orders.

It used to be open on Saturdays. However, with this second pandemic lockdown, it has revised its hours.

At least I get to stay home all warm and cozy. I am currently going through a new cookbook, dreaming about which recipe to try first.

A different kind of Monday

I am taking Monday off from work in lieu of working the hours late last week. I have a relaxed, yet somewhat adventurous plan.

I do need to vacuum my car. Here's hoping that I can do it safely. I suspect that it won't be all that busy.

Last week, I was hoping to venture into the city. I never made it. Instead, that's my goal for today. I'm now picking up two food orders. I also hope to take in the new Toronto sign that was recently installed.

After that, I may visit either a cafe that is offering a free beverage or visit my old neighbourhood where I grew up to reminisce.

Working overtime

Yesterday, I put in a fourteen-hour workday. It's all thanks to three software developers who could not get the software deployment steps right until noon.

I have a deadline to get a draft out today. They added an extra eleven pages of content and revamped two major sections of this document.

Yeah, I'm not pleased with the extra hours that I have put in. On a good note, I hope that I can take Monday off with the extra hours that I have clocked.

My tarot reading post will need to wait. I need to rest my eyeballs.

Interview thoughts, work, and taxes

The student interviews on Friday went well. We have three extremely good candidates. My boss and I need to choose one of them for the upcoming work term.

Frankly, it would be great if we could ditch the incompetent employee that we currently have for any of these three. They are far more on the ball that she will ever be!

My weekend has flown by. I spent a couple of hours doing some work. It wasn't difficult, but it did take up some time.

I also completed filing tax returns for my parents. It's nice that I got everything over by the end of March. I am a month ahead of schedule. Miracles do happen now and again!

I hope everyone has a great week ahead!

Concert and Jello legs

I just came back from a concert. I got a VIP ticket. I stood there for five hours. My legs feel like Jello.

More details about this fabulous show in a following post. I hope my legs come back to life in the morning!

Foot and muscle pain sucks when you want to sleep

Now and again, I get muscle spasms in my right foot. It was pretty bad last night. I woke up at nearly 4 am to pain.

I can't recall how many ibuprofen pills I managed to take. It was strange, but I had a mini panic attack. My bedroom was getting hot, mainly because of my tossing and turning in bed along with the heating kicking in. I had to drink some water and eat a protein bar to ease things for me. I also took long breaths, which helped.

I didn't go back to bed, but I had a conference call at 7 am. I said hi at the beginning and actually fell asleep for nearly two hours. Hopefully, I wasn't called upon to say anything. This meeting call ended up being just under four hours.

Part of me wanted to call in sick. However, I took it easy working from home, as the muscle pain lasted all day, with it dying off right about now.

Some days are rough. Here's hoping that tomorrow will be much better.

Y is for yawning

It has dawned on me that I am nearly done with this month's Blogging from A to Z challenge. Time flies.

I supposed that it's a bit early to do some sort of retrospective. I enjoyed this year's far more than last year's. I am guessing that it's because both my guy and I have have been pretty content as of late. It makes a huge difference on so many levels.

My guy is still on the road. He just finished a week working in Budapest. He had to catch a 06:00 flight to get to Dublin on Sunday.

We talked briefly on Skype on Sunday afternoon (his evening):
"How are you holding up?" I asked him.
"Everywhere I go, I sleep. I slept waiting for my flight, on my flight, in my hotel room,... pretty much anywhere," my guy said, yawning afterwards.
"So, you're sleeping around?" I joked.
"Yes, I sleep around as much as a prostitute does," he confirmed.
"So I should call you my slutty sleepyhead?" I asked him.
"Sure!"
I rarely yawn. I only do when I am exhausted. Throughout the day, I don't. I am not sure why that is.

I have been pretty tired these days and spent this weekend sleeping more than I usually do. On Friday night, I slept for nine hours. On Saturday night, I slept for eight hours.

My guy and I enjoy sleep. My guy needs more hours than I do. He really is my sleepyhead.

E is for evening out

I just got home. It has been a long day. Wednesdays tend to be that way.

This entry will be shorter than what I normally write, but I am still determined to get through this challenge.

I have a weekly teleconference at 07:30 every Wednesday. I had problems getting online and on the phone for this meeting. For some reason, my laptop did not want me to log in. I didn't forget my password. My laptop just wouldn't recognize my password that I use practically every day. Twenty minutes later, my laptop decided to stop playing games with me. I was fifteen minutes late, but at least I still managed to attend.

I worked quite a bit in the morning before I headed to the office. It is unfortunate that I work with two writers who fit the stereotype as being quiet and shy. They don't say anything until I initiate the conversation or just plain ask questions.

My guy told me that his flight would get into Toronto by 18:20. It was delayed by forty minutes. I changed venues from sitting at my cubicle doing work till 19:00, to moving to the training room. Sure enough, just before 20:00, my guy came walking in. It was good seeing him.

We talked for a bit. We were both hungry, so we headed to our usual Chinese restaurant for dinner.

Dinner was yummy. The conversation was good. It was nice to see him. It has been nearly two weeks.

We had quality time after dinner, but I will write about that tomorrow, provided that I can think of our time together that starts with the letter f.
