Don't touch my car!

I tend to go grocery shopping on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Every other Saturday, I head to a supermarket in Toronto where I can get popsicles with a banana base in them. It's the closest supermarket that sells them. They are yummy!

To make a long story short, when I backed into a parking spot in front of this store, there were cars on either side of me that were roughly the same size as mine. When I was done shopping and headed to my car, there was a pickup truck to the left of the driver's side. A man was loading groceries in the backseat of his truck. The door was pretty close to my driver's side.

I was putting my groceries in my trunk when I heard someone talking to me. It was the guy who was loading the truck. I couldn't hear him when he was standing practically at the front of my car.

"Pardon me?" I asked, as he walked from between his vehicle and mine over to the passenger side of my car.
"I pushed your side mirror in so I wouldn't hit it and fixed it. Hope that's okay" he said.

I put my hands up in the air. What?!

"I guess so," I said
"I think it's better than my door hitting it," he said.
"Not really. I have to wipe down my mirror now," I replied.

I was not impressed. I didn't articulate how annoyed I was. On a normal day, I'd be okay. Things aren't normal these days for these reasons:
  • We're in a pandemic. He came up to me to talk to me without a mask and far from being six feet apart. Jerk.
  • How is it okay to touch someone's property because you can't park for beans? Your germs are now on my car. Even though you appear okay health-wise, you may not be. Now, I have your grubby fingerprints on my car and need to sanitize that part of my car. Geez, thanks.
  • Why couldn't you have loaded your groceries from the other door? How about finding a parking spot where you can swing your doors open freely to load your groceries because you know that you won't be using your trunk?
I seriously dislike when folks adjust my car's side mirrors when I take my car in for servicing. It takes me forever to get them back to the way that best work for me. The fact that I had a complete stranger do it unexpectedly irks me.

It may seem like nothing to this guy, but it's not okay to me. He drives a huge truck, but it doesn't mean that he has every right to adjust other people's property to suit his lack of consideration for other people's property.

Updates on my eye, Valentine's Day, cooking, and my guy

I have a few updates on various things.

On Friday, I went to see my ophthalmologist. My right eye is still doing well. I had my eye injection. I still see him every fourteen weeks, which is my favourite number.

He asked me an interesting question. He asked whether I have any new year's resolutions. I'm not the type to declare them. I have goals that I feel are attainable, such as decluttering in phases.

Then, there's Valentine's Day. One of my students indicated that she was bummed out not having a boyfriend to enjoy this day. I had to tell her that the day is overrated. Love happens all year round. Valentine's Day is just a reminder to those commercializing on this day to get flowers, candy, and hit a nice restaurant. It also tends to alienate those who are single. They need to know that they are loved by friends and family.

I cooked up a storm on Sunday. I made broccoli cheddar soup for the first time in my life. The recipe called for eight tablespoons of butter. Really? That seemed like way too much butter. I put in four tablespoons and felt that it was a ton.

My guy has made it safely to India. I have a feeling that he will have a tough time adjusting to the timezone, which is normal for him. I hope to hear from him when he isn't working or sleeping.

Sweet and horny

It goes without saying that whenever my guy is on the road, he misses me. I feel the same way when he is away.

We have a six-hour time difference, which isn't too bad. My guy doesn't deal with jet lag well, though. He becomes hornier when he is trying to adjust his biological clock.

On Sunday, he called me.
"Hey, sweetie," I answered.
"Hey, how are you?" He asked me.
"I'm good, thanks. You?" I reciprocated.
"I'm good, too. I'm about to go to bed, so I thought that I'd call you," he admitted.
"Are you hard?" I asked him.
"I'm very hard," he noted. "I miss you."
"I miss you, too. When are you not hard?" I asked him.
"When I'm not thinking of you," he said.
He's sweet and horny. It's a nice combination.

My guy is flying home and I want to see Fifty Shades Darker again

My guy is on a plane, travelling home. It seems like ages since he has been back home. I can't wait to see him again.

He arrives at 05:00 this morning. As much as he wants to see me, he would rather have me sleep in, like I tend to do on weekends. He'll probably be tired himself, now that he has to adjust to his normal timezone.

I may see Fifty Shades Darker again later on today. I can watch it a third time at the theatre when my guy is free next week. Yes, I love the movie that much.
