Sore wrist with minor swelling

Friday is here. Yay!

I have a sore left wrist. I also have a bit of swelling. My guess is that one end of my cuff bracelet dug into it while my head rested on it as I slept.

I need to sleep differently.

It's weird. I took my cuff bracelet off and hope that the swelling subsides.

Evil eye bracelet - leaving the past behind

I have been wearing an evil eye bracelet for years. I had two different ones years ago, but they both broke.

My ex-boyfriend tried his hardest to get me a replacement. He first bought one from Winners, but it was too short. He eventually went to Istanbul and got me two different styles. I have been wearing the same one ever since.

Well, since he broke up with me, I have been wearing it because I love it so much. However, it was getting tarnished. It wasn't real silver. I decided to search for a new one. It took a while, but I finally have a sterling silver one with a blue evil eye.

Last weekend, I retired the old one. I also closed another chapter of my time with the ex-boyfriend. I have been doing it in steps. It's progress.

Evil eye bracelet and my guy

Roughly a month ago, a colleague complimented me on how pretty my evil eye bracelet looked on my wrist. I thanked her.

My guy bought me two evil eye bracelets while he was in Istanbul. I am wearing the one with evil eyes all around the bracelet. The eyes look dark blue on the outside. However, when light hits the blue parts of each evil eye, they appear purple.

It's a thoughtful gift. It reminds me of my guy when I look down at the bracelet. He's happy seeing me wear it.

Dropping in at 6 am to cuddle and kiss

Last Sunday, my guy knocked on my hotel room just before 06:00. I opened the door and liked seeing him smile at me.
"I'm sleepyhead," I said, which made him smile.
"I know," he replied.
He got plenty of sleep on the plane. This time around, he found the bathroom just fine. Last time, he thought the closet was the washroom.

We sat on the couch and cuddled. I got him some powdered peanut butter. It's great for travelling. You just add water, stir, and you get peanut butter. It has practically no carbs, which made him happy. I also got him sugar-free mints from Sweden.

He thanked me. He moved in to kiss me on the lips. I loved having his lips pressed against mine. It was nice.

We held hands. He admired my pink nail polish. He loved looking at my hands. He then enjoyed looking at my wrist.
"You're wearing the evil eye bracelet," he observed.
"Yes, I have been wearing it since you got me it. I love how when light hits it, the blue changes to purple," I said.
"Nice! It looks good on you," he said.
"Thanks! I love it," I replied.
It was my time of the month. He was also a bit tired from his travels, so it was nice to chat and cuddle.
"Is your shirt new?" I asked him, snuggling up to him.
"Newish. I got it at our favourite liquidation outlet for $5. My pants were $10," he said proudly.
"I love you, CB," I said.
I love when my sweet Cheap Bastard takes pride in saving a ton of money while looking stylish.

Evil eye bracelets and pouring rain

Before I drove my guy to the airport over a week ago, he gave me presents from Istanbul. He had asked me what I wanted from the city.

It's easier for me to think of things that I'd like, for I have been to the city before. I asked him for looseleaf tea.

When we first met, I had an evil eye bracelet. It had a dainty chain that eventually snapped. I tried to repair it, but I couldn't salvage it after a couple of tries.

I then got a replacement one. Months later, that one died, too.

Istanbul is known for all things evil eye. So, I asked my guy if he could get me an evil eye bracelet. Not only did he get me one similar in style to the ones that I once owned, he got me another one that has small evil eyes all around the bracelet. I loved them both when I saw them.

It was raining fairly hard that day. I got soaked walking from the restaurant where we had dinner over to my car.
"I'm wet right now," I said, as my shirt and hair had absorbed some of the rain.
"Of course, you are," he said with a smirk.
"I didn't mean that!" I said. "Then again, I am sitting next to you."
"You're sweet," he said, holding my hand.
We got to the airport. I gave my guy my umbrella so that he could fetch a cart for his luggage. An older gentleman saw our umbrella exchange and smiled.

My guy came back and loaded everything onto the cart. We kissed and hugged. It seems more romantic when it's raining and you're saying goodbye to a loved one for a brief period.

A couple hours later, he called me.
"Hey, is your flight delayed?" I asked him.
"Yes, but only for forty minutes," he said. "I heard that it's pouring in Toronto."
"It was quite the downpour driving home, but I'm safe," I replied.
"That's good," he said.
"You're sweet. Thanks for the evil eye bracelets. I'm wearing one of them now. I love them," I remarked.
"I'm so glad," he replied.
He's thoughtful and sweet. It was nice to hear from him before his flight took off.

Evil eye bracelet and horniness

I had a good chat with my guy as I drove home from work last night. He was his usual sweet self, asking what I would like from Istanbul.

When we first started dating, I had an evil eye bracelet. It was a western version of the evil eye. The bracelet was sterling silver, except for the eye, which was a light blue colour. The eye itself was round. Sadly, I broke that bracelet. It was pretty dainty.

I got a replacement evil eye bracelet after that. The chain seemed less dainty. The evil eye was oval in shape and the blue colour was more pronounced. I also managed to break that bracelet. I tried fixing it, but it was a lost cause.

I asked my guy for a Turkish evil eye bracelet. I never thought about getting one while I was there, for I still had my evil eye one in working condition. If there is a place to get one, Istanbul is the place.
"No problem. Consider it done," he said.
"Thanks, sweetie," I said.
"You're very welcome, sweetness."
I also liked how he ended our call.
"Be good. If you are bad, I will need to spank you when I am back," he said.
"Now I'm horny as I drive home," I said.
He knows how to make me a happy good girl.

Sweet guy with thoughtful gifts

My guy never ceases to amaze me. He is a great gift-giver.

He normally asks me what I would like for either my birthday or Christmas. I tend to give him a couple of suggestions. For my birthday, I suggested getting a glass knot. It's a beautiful glass-blown knot with various colours. The one that he got me has blue, green, and white in an eternal knot that signifies love and longevity.

I indicated a while back that he was sweet to try and replace my broken evil eye bracelet. He got me another one, except that the bracelet's length was too short. I indicated that we both have the same bracelet size. He remembered what it was today, which was impressive.

During that conversation, we also had a talk about ring size. My guy, who admits that he is horrible at buying jewellery, bought me a pretty silver ring, with a blue gemstone in the middle, and some crystals on either side of the gem. It looks like an evil eye!

At first, my guy was concerned that it was too snug on my finger. I told him that it was perfect. I simply haven't worn a ring in years. I pointed out that my ring finger was the same colour as all my other fingers, so it wasn't cutting off my circulation!

I love his thoughtful gifts. More importantly, I love him in my life.

A bracelet for my birthday

My guy gave me an early birthday present on Friday. He tends to steer away from getting me jewellery. However, he took the plunge and got me a nice bracelet.

He knows that I used to have an evil eye bracelet. Several months ago, it broke and I couldn't get it fixed. He got me a sterling silver bracelet (all I wear is sterling silver) with blue beads and a blue evil eye.

The problem was my trying to wear it. It felt like rocket science trying to put it on. He figured it out for me. I then told him that it wouldn't fit me.

I have a large wrist for a woman. It's not an unusual size, though.
"My wrist is 7.5 inches," I said.
"I didn't know that bracelets have wrist sizes," he admitted.
"It's okay. It's the sweet thought that you had that counts," I replied.
It was a romantic, thoughtful gesture. It was a shame that he had left the price tag on the bracelet. Then again, he is returning it, so it all works out.

H is for handcuffs and home #AtoZchallenge

I have an affection for handcuffs. I don't mean it in a sexual context. I just like the look of silver handcuffs.

Years ago, I did a road trip with my then husband. The road trip had us travelling to the east coast of Canada. We then took a ferry (yes, including our car) over to the States, and drove back home. It was a wonderful trip.

We stayed in Bangor, Maine for a bit. I went shopping at the local mall and purchased a cute link bracelet. Each link was a handcuff. I still have that handcuff bracelet to this day.

In Las Vegas a couple of years ago, a good friend of mine and I went to the Mob Museum. I highly recommend going there if you'd like to learn more about the mob scene from years past and you enjoy being a tourist. In the gift shop, I bought a pair of handcuffs. They work and come with keys.

On Ashley Bridget's Web site, it sells various pieces of jewellery. There was one that was inspired by Fifty Shades of Grey. I bought it because it said that it would fit a wrist up to 7.5". Sadly, it was too tight on me. It was also too heavy.

Recently, it has offered a couple of lighter version of the handcuff bracelet to its Fifty Shades of Grey collection. I got the thin handcuff bracelet. It fits perfectly. I am wearing it as I type. I love it!

As for the home part, with my blurry vision in my right eye, my manager has suggested that I work from home a couple of days a week. Currently, I work from home on Wednesdays. I am thinking of also taking Tuesdays to work from home. I will start that next week. Well, I would have been working from home anyway next Tuesday. I have a teleconference that starts at 07:00!

More about my eye results in my next post. I get to see my guy on Saturday, so there will be plenty to say!

Cute bracelet with a sweet remark

My guy and I were having a late lunch the other day. He looked at my bracelets on my right wrist.
"I love your bracelets. The more recent one with the little ring is nice," he remarked.
"Thanks," I replied. "The ring with the gem is cute."
"It's the person who is wearing it that makes the bracelet cute. It suits you," he said with a smile.
He is sweet.

Watch-syncing issues with steps and my trusty Fitbit One

I bought a Pebble Time Round watch last year in May. I love the watch. It's functional and pretty.

Unfortunately, the app that I use to sync my steps from this watch is flaky. I suspect that the app isn't supported anymore because Fitbit bought Pebble.

It's funny that I had to go back to my trusty Fitbit One device to be able to track my steps accurately. I'm glad that I can.

Of course, many phones track your steps. The problem is that I do not carry my phone wherever I go, so it is of little use to me.

I love my watch, though. I now have both my Fitbit One and my Pebble Time Round on the same wrist. I don't like the clip that comes with the Fitbit One. I have broken quite a number of them that I prefer having a bracelet band instead.

Ah, the joys of technology both failing and being sturdy.

Brunch at a Chinese restaurant and gift suggestions

On Saturday, I was probably ten minutes into my drive over to the Chinese restaurant where we were to meet when my guy called me. I indicated that it would take me another twenty minutes. He told me to take my time while he sipped some green tea.

I got to the restaurant, walked in, and it was packed. I was trying to find my guy, but I couldn't. A nice man at the restaurant asked if I needed any help. I asked whether he knew of a male customer sitting by himself. He pointed to my guy about four feet in front of me, sitting at a booth. I wouldn't have seen him from the angle that I was at.

I walked over to him and caressed his perfectly uniform head. He had soft stubble that felt nice. My guy smiled at me.
"Hey, you made it!" he said, putting his phone down.
"Yes, I finally did," I said, removing my coat and sat down across from him.
"Have some tea," he gestured.
"Is there any left?" I joked.
My guy is an attentive guy. He noticed my bracelet that he has never seen before.
"I got my bracelet for less than $20. It's sterling silver with a cute diamond ring charm," I described to him as he analyzed it on my right wrist.
"See, you're becoming a Cheap Bastard like me," he said proudly.
"I'm a CB-ette," I teased, which made him chuckle.
While we ate, we chatted about a number of things. One thing led to another and he asked me what I wanted for Christmas.
"I want you," I said to him without thinking.
"You can have me for Christmas, and all the days before and after it. I'm yours," he said.
He's sweet. He tends to ask me for gift suggestions, although he's good at gift-giving. I need to compile my list.
