It's day two of the Blogging from A-to-Z Challenge. So far, so good!
My guy's birthday was last Friday. We couldn't do lunch that day. I had agreed to have dim sum with our writing team.
It was a busy afternoon for both of us. My guy typically ends his Friday at 15:00. Instead, he finished at 16:30 and sent me an instant message after he was done.
I packed up at 17:00 and met him in the project room downstairs. He looked happy. We both did, probably because our workweek was over and it was nice to finally see each other.
I took out a small gift bag and wished my guy a happy birthday. He had a huge smile on his face. It never shocks him when I remember his birthday. It would shock him if I forgot!
My presents tend to be practical. My guy was recently in Turkey and his laptop charger died. So, I bought him a replacement, which is the same model that I have been using for four years. This charger allows you to change the tips, so I have used it for both Dell and HP laptops. It also has a built-in surge protector and a USB port. We are both similar in that we like a laptop charger in our bag and one at home.
I am a geeky girl. My guy calls me geeky gadget girl. He loved his presents, including this one.
My guy wanted to know whether I wanted to join him for dinner. Of course! After all, we both get hungry after working so hard at the office.
We both drove over to our usual Chinese restaurant, ordered dinner, chatted, held hands, stared into each other's eyes, and laughed for a few hours. It was the perfect way to celebrate his birthday.
As for his birthday spanking, he will be dishing it out on me soon. I can't wait!
That sounds like a wonderful birthday celebration!

DeleteWow CB...I really like the gift you gave your guy...I prefer to have multiple chargers for my laptop and my phone. Hope you two are able to enjoy his birthday spanking soon.

Thanks, Cat! I am the same way about having multiple chargers, especially when travelling.
DeleteYour presents never seize to make me smile. What a gift, girl. And if you can be his geeky girl that way, well that seems fine to me!

My guy loves his gift, which is his charger when he travels. So, I am a constant reminder when he plugs in his laptop. =)
