Anyway, the hotel is nice to serve both hot and cold breakfast items. I had the scrambled eggs, but they were bland. The sausage patties were fine. The small pancakes were cute, but tasted more like cake. I also had pineapple chunks and lemon tea, which were both fabulous.
Tomorrow, I may just get some fruit and tea, and come back to my room to make myself some breakfast. I have decided to check out a bit later. My guy flies in later that evening, so I don't want too strenuous of a day.
When it comes to food, I like a lot of flavour. I went to IGA, a local grocery store here that used to be in Ontario. I got local Quebecois favourites, such as tourtiere and baked beans. I also got pecan tarts for dessert. They were all delicious.
I will always be a foodie at heart. My guy knows that all too well. He is used to my taking photos of everything I eat. My habit is rubbing off on him. He does that, too!
There are few things more disappointing than a hotel breakfast, lol. Take a picture of the stale bagels and burnt coffee for us!
ReplyDeleteLOL! There wasn't much to write home about at the hotel breakfast. I changed to a different hotel once my guy arrived and breakfast is much better. =)
DeleteSounds like you've had a good time CB but bet you'll have an even better time when your guy arrives. ;) When I travel, I usually carry a small selection of my favorite dry seasonings with me to liven up the breakfast buffet food. I also travel with candles and other comforts from home...I do like my comfort. :D
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings...
Cat
I should try your suggestion and bring my own seasonings. I tend to bring my own teas, which makes me feel at home. The tea selections at the hotel are pretty good. I like bringing travel candles, too. =)
DeleteYou girls are strange, Cat, GWTNN, to bring your own seasonings, to bring your own travel candles....
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought the Dutch were nuts to take all that junk on a holiday... The load the whole caravan full of Dutch food...
Smile,
Han
Maybe we were Dutch in a previous lifetime, Han. =)
