Wild have home ice!

The Minnesota Wild have home ice advantage. The team is likely playing its first game on Monday.

I am waiting for the official NHL schedule. It means that I am either flying out on Sunday or on game day Monday to the Twin Cities.

I'm excited to see my first couple of Wild playoff games. The downside is getting my travel plans together. I can't until I see the schedule. There are two other games that are ongoing right now.

Waiting is such a pain sometimes!

Omicron variant and my upcoming trip

The Omicron variant is threatening the holidays and more. I'm not sure whether it'll affect my travel plans just yet. The good news is that I can change my plane ticket details without a penalty, if required.

Booster shots in Canada are now available for folks fifty years of age and older. I still need to wait for mine. In the meantime, I continue to be cautious, which has always been the case since this pandemic started.

My guess is that capacity limits will be imposed in public places. The Omicron variant seems to be spreading faster in communities than through travel in Canada.

My worst fear is that the border closes between Canada and the United States, and I am in the latter country. Here's hoping that it doesn't happen and I can complete my upcoming trip.

Shorter workweek and travel plans

It's a short workweek. I thought that yesterday was Monday, so I'm already messed up!

I am planning to travel at the end of November. I am contemplating making it a work-from-across-the-border trip. I'll take a couple of days off to be a tourist and I'll also have the weekend to continue exploring. It'll be a decent mix as I ease into travel, but not going crazy like I used to.

I see more of my friends travelling these days. I feel more comfortable planning travel myself.

Early meeting and a nap through the first hour of it

Yesterday, I woke up early for my 7 am meeting that typically lasts for four hours. I managed to sleep through the first hour after I said hello at the start.

It was a productive day. I worked on a PowerPoint presentation that I haven't had a chance to do in weeks.

On a completely different note, my friend and I made plans to get together on Friday night. Yay!

Travel planning and thoughts

Planning travel is both exciting and weird. I haven't done it for so long that it feels so unfamiliar, but not really.

I have three NHL hockey games in Minnesota that are close together in December and January. I may do a longer vacation and see all three.

I am still adventurous. I'm doing research to figure out what I need to fly down without a hitch.

I'm optimistic and hopeful. Things are looking up even thought we aren't fully out of this pandemic yet.

Staycation and plans for a birthday spanking

Last year, I was in Ottawa on vacation, celebrating Canada Day. It's incredible how different this year looks and feels.

While on vacation last year, I didn't give myself a birthday spanking. Being out and about as a tourist didn't make me even think about it.

I'm thinking about it now. It does get me aroused and excited.

I have a few plans. It's a question of figuring out which one I want the most and how long I want to spank myself for.

In the meantime, I came across this birthday spanking video. I like the idea of taking someone else's birthday swats.

Cancelled lunch becomes a dinner date

On Friday at 11:30 am, my cell phone rang. It was my guy. I knew that it wouldn't be good.
"Hey," he said.
"Hey," I replied. "What's up?"
I heard a pause and a nervousness in his voice.
"We can't do lunch today. How about we have a late lunch or early dinner at 4 pm?" he said.
"Um, can we make it 4:30 pm?" I asked him.
"Sure," he replied.
It was an odd, last-minute cancellation.

My team of a student and a writer had asked me the day before whether I'd be interested in going out for lunch on Friday. I politely turned them down. After hearing my guy's breaking news, I asked whether I could join them. Luckily, they were great at welcoming me back.

Lunch with my team was great. We went to a restaurant that all of us haven't frequented before. It was good. I'm glad that everything worked out.

Plans and spanking checklist of important items

I like when plans and arrangements fall into place. It's nice.

I put in some hours at work on Saturday. I indicated to my manager that I would be cutting my day short on Wednesday, which is today. It gives me time to hit a bakery to get some vegan baked goods for a potluck snackfest at work this Thursday. I have one vegetarian in the group who cannot eat anything with egg in it. Often, I see her excluded from celebrations involving cake. So, I'm going to fix that problem for our gathering.

Wednesday is also when I check in to my hotel room. I like when I have enough points to do a mini staycation. My guy flies in on Thursday morning, so it makes sense to have a room for some quality time and relaxation.

I am all packed. I always feel like I am missing something, though.

Spanking implements? I have a leather paddle and a wooden ruler. He can also use his hand on my backside, which I prefer the most.

His favourite clothing items before they come off me: Black lacy panties and bra? Check. Short skirt? Yep. Low-cut sweater? Definitely.

To say that we are both looking forward to seeing each other is quite the understatement!

Odd events lead to good karma

Sometimes, I wonder about various events. Yesterday, my guy had landed in Seattle for work. I was happy as can be, as I was going to join him for the Thanksgiving long weekend.

My guy left home without his driver's licence. It may have foreshadowed the events that took place after that.

On Monday, I had the worst time trying to troubleshoot various things with three new folks on my team. The worst was with the new writer who says that she knows everything. However, she ends up clicking various sites on her own that it causes even more problems. Her laptop had the most difficult time connecting to our company's wifi.

It was humourous how the rest of us simply assumed that her laptop was troublesome every time she tried a task on it. It's not me!

My guy texted me after I was done work, which was around 17:20. He indicated that his course was cancelled and that no one had told him about it. Bummer. Such horrible communication!

I had booked a one-way ticket to Seattle. I had also booked a hotel room to stay closer to the airport, for my flight was at 08:00. I had also booked a rental car.

All our our plans were dashed. My guy said that he looked forward to my joining him this trip, which was the highlight for him. He's sweet.

Looking on the bright side, I had already booked a staycation this weekend in his hometown. I had cancelled that reservation, but managed to rebook the same duration at a cheaper rate.

There is no penalty when I cancel my flight within 24 hours. I also managed to cancel my car and hotel reservations with ease. No harm on these fronts.

My guy flies back on Tuesday. We are meeting for some quality time. He told me that he wants to spank me for being a bad girl. Naturally, that turns me on.

We chatted twice on Tuesday. I got him off on the phone. He was so lethargic that he ended up singing.

Although our original plans didn't work out, our alternative ones are equally as good.

Show plans and progress

I have spent this weekend doing a bit of work. To make a long story short, I worked a couple of hours on Saturday. It's the perfect time to do this specific work, as no one else has any files open. If they did, I wouldn't be able to do what I needed to do.

I will leave work early on Friday to compensate. It's the perfect plan, for I am going to a show with my former student who is now a friend. She recently got her full driver's licence and is a bit nervous about driving to the venue's lot on her own. So, I will pick her up from work and go together. It makes sense that we park as one and save some money on parking. We'll grab a bite to eat before the show.

On Sunday, I spent the day trying to clean up. I made a dent, but I have plenty more to do. Some progress is better than no progress at all!

Weekends fly by too quickly. The countdown begins to get to the next one.

Change of lunch plans due to crappy traffic - what else is new?!

My guy and I had planned on having a late lunch on Wednesday. The problem? He called just before the time when we were supposed to meet and told me that he was stuck in traffic. He had been on the road for nearly two hours and wasn't even close to the restaurant.

I decided to drive to him. He was calling me from Islington and the 401. My guy would tell you that I am the most resourceful person he has ever met. I did a search on my phone for a decent restaurant close to where we was. There was a Vietnamese on a couple of exits from where he was, so I suggested that he do that.

Well, he surprised me by saying that he had travelled further along. He is directionally challenged after all! He was now at Avenue Road. I told him to take that exit. He did and waited for me along Wilson Avenue.

My guy and I were chatting for the whole time on the phone. Yes, we were both handsfree. It was funny that I was waiting at the intersection to turn left. I could see a police car. I asked him whether he saw it. He didn't. Well, it turned out that the police car was there for parking violations. The cop was ticketing the car in front of his. My guy was parked in front of the soon-to-be-ticketed car.

My guy saw my car. I told him to pull into a parking lot as I passed his, to avoid getting a ticket.

We parked. My guy got into my car. He looked good, as usual.

I had debated whether to give him his birthday present the day that we fly off to Seattle or a bit earlier. I decided to go with the latter. He loved his present. We kissed. He was cleanly shaven and smelled good.

We had to figure out where to eat. I wanted to do a search on my phone, but my guy was too busy kissing and holding my right hand. He's sweet. He also said that he would rather eat me than lunch!

Eventually, he let go of my hand for a minute, so that I could find a restaurant. I did! We drove over there, which wasn't too far away.

I will write more in a bit. Stay tuned!
