My boss recovering from COVID-19 and my sleepiness due to humidity

My manager caught COVID-19, as did his entire family. He returned to work yesterday, working remotely.

We had a virtual interview to conduct. I had asked the person who had set up this interview to reschedule it to accommodate my manager.

My manager started losing his voice today. He talked for maybe two minutes during the interview. I did all the talking in the interview with the candidate.

The kicker is that this candidate wasn't a perfect fit right off the bat. I wanted to shut down the interview immediately because she has no writing experience.

Such a waste of time!

Anyway, I didn't sleep well last night. It was way too humid overnight. Having the air conditioning on has made things better. I've been napping throughout the day to make up for my sleepiness.

Seeing my ex-guy's car triggered bittersweet memories and emotions

It took one basic trigger to make me feel sad about the demise of my relationship with my ex-guy. After work on Thursday, I was walking over to my car and saw his parked in the lot.

Memories came back. I last sat in his car to go out for lunch in early July. Although we never had quality time in the backseat of this car, it was a reminder that cars were an important part of our relationship.

We haven't talked since early June. I have basically shut communication down.

He doesn't know that I have a new car, so he likely thought that I wasn't at work. Even if I did tell him about it, I doubt that he would have wanted to contact me at work, if he had a chance. I'm glad that he hasn't. It would also cause me to feel sad speaking to him.

As of late, I have been pretty upbeat. I am sensitive, though.

Seeing his car on Thursday was a bummer. It's the downside of dating a colleague and your relationship ends, but your employment at the company does not. Luckily, he doesn't come to the office often. Still, seeing his car in the lot for a brief period conjured bittersweet memories.

I'm better now that I have written my thoughts in this blog post. My blog provides a source of comfort, to sort out my thoughts as I continue to get through this breakup.

Periods and travel

My guy has made it safely to Dallas. I get to do the same routine tomorrow.

It's weird that my menstrual cycle happens whenever I am travelling. This time, it happened a couple of days ago.

He teases me that my period is that predictable. It does get in the way of quality time. Luckily, we'll have most of our trip to have some intimate fun.

Tomorrow, I need to get up early to head to the airport. The next time I post will be in the States, reunited with my guy.

Trip-planning is nearly done

Our plane tickets and car rentals are booked. I'm joining my guy a day after he arrives in Dallas and a day before his course ends. We are both pleased.

He had originally sent me his itinerary on Monday. I didn't get anything, so I asked him about it on Tuesday. I finally got it and was able to book everything. His bookings go through the company. Mine is obviously personal.

We are both looking forward to spending some time with each other.

I'm back and am doing laundry

I had a long travel day on Monday. It was pretty uneventful, considering that I drove through pouring rain and a bit of snow. I cut through three states and ended up in my home province.

I got back at a decent time. It was enough time to pick up my friend, have a bit of a chat in her living room, and head over to a restaurant for dinner. It was a nice evening.

After work on Tuesday, I went home and did laundry. It's exciting stuff! I have always been the type of person who needs to do laundry as soon as I can after some time away from hom. I find it relaxing.

My guy and I share that same love for doing laundry. He is preparing for a business trip and leaves on Saturday. I am hoping that we can squeeze in some time together before he leaves.

Missing my guy, getting a new phone, and reducing debt

One week from now, I'll be spending the Thanksgiving long weekend with my guy. I miss him tons these days.

We were both pretty busy this week. He gave an online course all week. I continued working with my students on various tasks. I feel less exhausted this week. However, I came home on Friday after work and took a nap. I rarely crash!

I decided to get a new Google Pixel 2 XL phone, which replaces my dead Google Pixel one. I have been debating waiting for the newer 3 XL model. With a contract, I would be forking over quite a ton of money for it. I only had to pay $200 down for this new phone and I get to keep my existing cell phone plan. I hope to get the phone sometime next week. It's being shipped to me for free and it's also free to activate the phone myself.

These days, I am continuing to reduce the number of credit cards that I have. It's not healthy having so many. I am getting around to having two. Baby steps.

Thanksgiving staycation plans with my guy

Good news! I will be spending the long Thanksgiving weekend with my guy. September seems to be breezing by. Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away.

Things are still busy on my end. I get to work from home today, so that'll give me a chance to not talk a whole lot and to catch up on some quiet work.

Kisses, hugs, and hard nipples

It's tough sometimes when my guy and I have to part our separate ways after a nice reunion. I didn't want him to leave and hugged him a little tighter. He understood and we hugged some more on the couch.

It was nice when we kissed and hugged before he left the hotel room. He groped my left breast.
"Ooh, no bra," he remarked.
"You finally noticed," I said.
"Hey, both your nipples are now hard," he said.
He was right. I was wearing a purple blouse and both nipples were protruding. He has that effect on me.

Staycation with my guy

I'm all packed. I am doing a staycation this long Easter weekend. I check into the hotel later on today.

My guy arrives early on Saturday morning.
"I'm so excited to see you then," he confided.
"I can't wait to be with you," I noted.
"Can you wear that shirt that shows off your nice shoulders?" he asked me.
"Sure, I can wear my cold shoulder shirt," I replied.
"When you wear it, it shows off your sexy long legs," he remarked.
It'll be fun to spend more time with him.

Travel and hotel plans

It can be tough when my guy and I are apart. On a good note, it makes us look forward to when we'll see each other.
"I miss you," he told me the other day.
"I miss you, too. When do you fly back?" I asked him.
"I arrive on Saturday at 07:30," he noted.
"You tend to get the early flights back," I remarked.
"Yes, I do. It may be too early for us to me," he said.
"How did we do it the last time? Oh, I got a room," I recalled.
"That's right," he remembered.
"I can do that again," I offered.
"I would love it," he said, taking the offer up.
We get to see each other in a week. We are both excited about it.
"Will you wear that shirt that shows your shoulders and your long, sexy legs?" he asked.
"Sure. Anything for you," I said.
It's always fun to plan in advance.

Sleeping and chatting

My guy has made it safely to Nigeria. He is jetlagged, so I didn't hear from him until Tuesday.
"I was so sleepy after work on Monday that I came back to the hotel and fell asleep on the bed in my work clothes," he admitted to me.
"That's okay. I feel like sleeping in my clothes at work right now," I cracked, which made him laugh.
We had a wonderful conversation and some quality time, which made my workday much more enjoyable.

Nuking a potato that starts a fire sparks a fun chat while cuddling

Last week at the office, I got up to refill my mug of tea with hot water in the lunchroom. It smelled like something was burning.

I chatted with a colleague, who agreed that something was burning. She went to contact someone. She came back and let me know that someone was attempting to bake a potato in the microwave. The potato was being nuked for ten minutes. The paper towel on which the potato rested had caught on fire.

I have never nuked a potato in the microwave before. Perhaps placing it on a microwaveable dish would have been more appropriate. I don't know whether the potato was pierced. It should have been.

My guy and I have fun conversations after being intimate. We were cuddling when I told him about this store.
"The sad thing is that the fire wasn't big enough to burn the whole building down," I said.
"You really hate going to work, don't you?" he said, smiling.
"What tipped you off?" I asked, teasing him.
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe the burning down part," he grinned.
"Maybe," I said.
We both laughed. We continued to cuddle and chat.

Unwrapping my guy after shopping

My guy and I had a quick conversation about where we wanted to shop the other day.
"What are you planning to do after we visit this store?" he asked me.
"I'd like to unwrap you," I said.
He liked that answer. I did, too. It was exactly how we both felt.

Mushy mode and hotel plans

My guy and I had been playing Skype tag. We finally got to chat on Monday afternoon.
"Hey, where are you?" I asked him.
"I'm back in Cairo," he replied. "I miss you so much."
He's still in mushy mode, which I like. I miss him, too. He also said that he misses his bad girl.

Two more weeks remain before he comes home. I have booked a hotel room for us, which we are both looking forward to using.

Caps and cuteness

My guy likes to wear a flat cap on his head. Naturally, I love his head because it is perfectly uniform.

When I saw him last week, I took his cap off as we kissed. I enjoy caressing his head while we kiss.

After we had made out and had a bit of quality time, I tried on his cap.
"Hey, it fits my head," I said , surprised that it fit my large head.
"You look cute with it on," he said.
"You should wear it backwards," I said, putting it on him in that way.
"A different look, huh?" he said.
The other day, he said that I should wear caps more often. He like how cute I look in them. I teased and asked if I could have his. Naturally, he said that he would buy we one instead.

Odd events lead to good karma

Sometimes, I wonder about various events. Yesterday, my guy had landed in Seattle for work. I was happy as can be, as I was going to join him for the Thanksgiving long weekend.

My guy left home without his driver's licence. It may have foreshadowed the events that took place after that.

On Monday, I had the worst time trying to troubleshoot various things with three new folks on my team. The worst was with the new writer who says that she knows everything. However, she ends up clicking various sites on her own that it causes even more problems. Her laptop had the most difficult time connecting to our company's wifi.

It was humourous how the rest of us simply assumed that her laptop was troublesome every time she tried a task on it. It's not me!

My guy texted me after I was done work, which was around 17:20. He indicated that his course was cancelled and that no one had told him about it. Bummer. Such horrible communication!

I had booked a one-way ticket to Seattle. I had also booked a hotel room to stay closer to the airport, for my flight was at 08:00. I had also booked a rental car.

All our our plans were dashed. My guy said that he looked forward to my joining him this trip, which was the highlight for him. He's sweet.

Looking on the bright side, I had already booked a staycation this weekend in his hometown. I had cancelled that reservation, but managed to rebook the same duration at a cheaper rate.

There is no penalty when I cancel my flight within 24 hours. I also managed to cancel my car and hotel reservations with ease. No harm on these fronts.

My guy flies back on Tuesday. We are meeting for some quality time. He told me that he wants to spank me for being a bad girl. Naturally, that turns me on.

We chatted twice on Tuesday. I got him off on the phone. He was so lethargic that he ended up singing.

Although our original plans didn't work out, our alternative ones are equally as good.

Staycation, concert, and quality time this long weekend

I am doing another staycation this upcoming long Labour Day weekend. I will be seeing a concert midway through it. I'm looking forward to it.

My guy may be able to drop by for some quality time. I won't be in his neck of the woods. However, it will be nice if he can escape. I miss him a ton.

Cheap, cheap, cheap!

Sometime last month, after my guy and I had some quality time in our treehouse, we heard birds chirping nearby. We were both in a happy, lethargic state, which led to this conversation.
"The birds are calling your name. They are saying, 'Cheap, cheap, cheap!'," I noted.
"I'm Cheap Bastard," my guy said affectionately.
On Sunday morning, just after 03:00, I woke up to what seemed to be chatter. I then realized that there were birds chirping in the nest in front of my bedroom.

I told my guy about the birds.
"I don't get why the birds are chirping at that time of day. It's not like they have a sale to go to and are letting you know that deals are cheap, cheap, cheap," I said.
"Are you telling me that I'm cheap?" he asked, with a teasing tone to his voice.
"I call you Cheap Bastard, but you know that you aren't cheap. You like good deals and saving money. You're frugal," I replied.
"I know. I can't find birds that chirp frugal, frugal, frugal," he replied, which made me laugh.
"Well, if you got a parrot, you could teach your pet to say that," I pointed out, which made him chuckle.
We chatted for an hour on Monday afternoon, which was Victoria Day in Canada. It's always nice to chat with him while he is abroad.

Anal sex and intimacy in the treehouse

The other day, I was listening to the radio as I was driving to work, as I generally do. Folks were calling in to discuss what their most embarrassing moments were.

A woman called and indicated that she was working with a guy at their place of employment and ended up making out in the guy's pickup truck. His manager caught them and they both were embarrassed. The good news is that they have been happily married with children for a decade.

My guy and I have quality time in our treehouse (either my car or his). It makes sense considering that we live in opposing directions and it takes us an hour to drive to work on a decent traffic day.

For a while, my guy and I have thought about having anal sex in his treehouse. His treehouse is roomier than mine. Logistically, it would work.

Although we both like the idea of having a hotel for the weekend and escaping the world by being together, it doesn't always work well when we are horny and want to be intimate in a spontaneous fashion. So, we will give this idea a try and see how it goes.

My guy travels off to Istanbul later on today. We are expecting snow. I am hoping that it is a light dusting and that my guy has a smooth travel day.

Affection, lounge hours, and Skype chats

I can always tell when my guy misses me. It all started before he left for his flight.

On Friday, after we had had lunch and some quality time, he reached for my hand and held it. I tend to be the one these days who will reach for his hand and beat him to the punch, simply because it's who I am. He reached for my hand when we were outside in gusty conditions and he wished me a safe drive home. I wished him safe travels.

When we had lunch that day, we had this conversation:
"I have two stops before I reach my destination," he remarked.
"I hope that you have time to hit a lounge, since you have reached elite status," I replied.
"I'm not sure whether that fancy lounge that we've been to will be open by the time I'm there. I am taking a redeye," he responded.
"I'm pretty sure that it's a 24-hour lounge," I replied.
I wasn't expecting him to call me just before his final flight. He did.
"Hey, the lounge was open and it was busy," he replied.
"See, I told you. Did you believe me? Nooo!" I teased.
"Yes, you were right. I had two bottles of my favourite yogurt drink," he said contently.
"That's good. There should be less whining on the plane," I remarked.
"I just had to share that with you," he told me.
"And, I have no yummy food," I teased.
"You never know. Maybe you'll be back there with me," he replied.
"I hope so. I don't have elite status!"
We actually texted on Skype till he had to put his phone away. It's always a sign that he misses me -- that he wants to talk to me as long as he can. The feeling is always mutual. It also feels good to be missed.
