Update on my cold and cough

The good news is that my cold has disappeared.

My congestion seems to be mild. I did have to get a new decongestant spray yesterday. I liked my Zicam that I got stateside a few months ago. I have used it up and went with Drixoral. I find the former relieves my congestion a lot faster than the latter. However, the current spray is effective.

I still have a cough, although it's not as annoying as it was over a week ago. It's progress.

I have a few posts to write. I have been focused on getting better that I haven't got around to them. Soon!

Energy levels and congestion

I spent Tuesday at home. I find that I'm energetic in the morning. Once I have breakfast, I want to nap and it's all downhill from there.

Congestion is annoying. I have been hydrating a lot that I feel much better later in the day. It's interesting having a cold.

I haven't had a cold in years. It's weird, but I'm coping as best as I can.

Bumps in the love journey and my portable humidifier

It has been an interesting few days. On the romantic side, we aren't doing great. I'll talk about that in an upcoming blog post. I am still sorting through some of the ridiculousness that has transpired.

I still have congestion. I will let my doctor know when I see her on Tuesday. The good news is that it's getting better, but it has been around for a week that I'm concerned. My teeth also feel achy, which is odd. I got over-the-counter sinus medicine at the drug store to help with my congestion. So far, it's working out fairly well.

On Thursday night, I got a portable humidifier. It works well. The downside is that the instructions come from China and they aren't complete. I have been figuring it out as I go. I do like it, as it also acts as a nightlight. It also has two mist modes. There's a continuous one and a pulsating version. Fun!

Bloodwork, snow, and humidifer

I had bloodwork done on Tuesday morning. I was contemplating whether to go, as snow had fallen overnight. It was heavy, wet snow. Luckily, it was fine driving in it, so I was good.

I go see my doctor next week. If my congestion is still there, I'll ask about how to get rid of it. It has been a week since I caught this nasty cold. The cold is gone, but the congestion won't leave. Ugh!

My humidifier is my best friend. It does wonders. I am contemplating getting a portable one for work.

Dating a worrywart

My new love interest is a worrywart. He was trying to secure his first contract with a customer. He got so stressed out that when we were chatting on Tuesday night, he said that he couldn't have dinner and needed time to think.

Wow. That's all I can say.

Meanwhile, I had a lapse in my cold on Tuesday. My congestion went through the roof. I told him on three separate times that I was taking an early evening. Thank goodness for my humidifier.

Did he take any of what I said into consideration? Nope. Stress does weird things to him.

He texted me at 1 am my time to say that he can't sleep. Really? I said that I'm not feeling well once again. He apologized. I proceeded to switch my phone to do not disturb. I'm so glad that I did. He texted me at 6:30 am and beyond. I was sleeping in till 8 am.

The good news is that he got the contract. His very first one. I was so proud of him.

I am also thrilled that I don't have to deal with his crazy, worried text messages. I, too, can sleep well tonight.

Late checkout, ending this long weekend

I did a late checkout at the hotel today. It's fun. I like leisurely taking my time to travel home.

I still sound congested. I can breathe a bit better, though. Small step are cool.

Sick day and rest

Yep, I have a cold. Sneezing. Runny nose. Congestion.

Why does one nostril clog up when you're congested? Weird. It has been my right nostril for most of the day.

I stayed home and called it a sick day. I slept for another three hours. I feel better, but I'm still not back to my normal self.

I'm doing a staycation with a cold. Oh, joy! We'll see how things go.

Driving, delays, and lunch

Saturday came and went. I anticipated seeing my guy, I did, and he is off on a plane.

He called me at noon.
"I'm about thirty minutes from the restaurant," he said.
"You're early. I'm just heading out the door," I said.
"That's good. See you soon," he said.
I can tell when he is eager to see me. He is known to be late. Today, we reversed roles.

I decided not to take the toll highway, but the regular one. I realize why I like the toll. It took forever to get to the restaurant. On top of that, my fuel light decided to let me know that my car's fuel tank was running low. I went to fill my car up.

My guy called me a couple of minutes after 13:00, which was the time that we had agreed to meet. He knows how punctual I am.
"How far away are you from the restaurant?" he asked me.
"I just pasted the office. I'm about two minutes away. Sorry for the delay. Traffic on the highway was horrendous and I had to fuel up my car," I pointed out.
"It's okay. Take your time," he said.
I arrived at the restaurant and parked. I then walked up to my guy, who was sitting in his car with the door wide open.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey," he replied, getting out.
"You look summery," he said, looking at my Snoopy t-shirt, shorts, and sandals.
"It's warm, so I thought it would be a good look," I said, caressing his nicely shaved head.
We headed towards the restaurant. We were both hungry for lunch.

A thoughtful call before travelling along a busy highway

This long weekend couldn't have come at a better time. Work has been busy. It has been the perfect time to unwind, relax, and spend some time with my guy.

I made it to his town just fine. Traffic, for some reason, seems to be bad on highway 401, no matter what time of the day it is. I managed to bypass half of my journey along this highway on Saturday afternoon. When I got on it, there were some stop-and-go moments, but it was smooth otherwise.

Before I left my home, my guy called me.
"Hey, sweetie," I answered. "How are you?"
"I can't wait to see you," he said cheerfully.
He wished me a safe trip. I always like when he calls.

Change of lunch plans due to crappy traffic - what else is new?!

My guy and I had planned on having a late lunch on Wednesday. The problem? He called just before the time when we were supposed to meet and told me that he was stuck in traffic. He had been on the road for nearly two hours and wasn't even close to the restaurant.

I decided to drive to him. He was calling me from Islington and the 401. My guy would tell you that I am the most resourceful person he has ever met. I did a search on my phone for a decent restaurant close to where we was. There was a Vietnamese on a couple of exits from where he was, so I suggested that he do that.

Well, he surprised me by saying that he had travelled further along. He is directionally challenged after all! He was now at Avenue Road. I told him to take that exit. He did and waited for me along Wilson Avenue.

My guy and I were chatting for the whole time on the phone. Yes, we were both handsfree. It was funny that I was waiting at the intersection to turn left. I could see a police car. I asked him whether he saw it. He didn't. Well, it turned out that the police car was there for parking violations. The cop was ticketing the car in front of his. My guy was parked in front of the soon-to-be-ticketed car.

My guy saw my car. I told him to pull into a parking lot as I passed his, to avoid getting a ticket.

We parked. My guy got into my car. He looked good, as usual.

I had debated whether to give him his birthday present the day that we fly off to Seattle or a bit earlier. I decided to go with the latter. He loved his present. We kissed. He was cleanly shaven and smelled good.

We had to figure out where to eat. I wanted to do a search on my phone, but my guy was too busy kissing and holding my right hand. He's sweet. He also said that he would rather eat me than lunch!

Eventually, he let go of my hand for a minute, so that I could find a restaurant. I did! We drove over there, which wasn't too far away.

I will write more in a bit. Stay tuned!
