Regis Philbin

I learned yesterday evening that Regis Philbin had passed away. He was 88 years old, roughly a month shy of being 89 years of age.

May he rest in peace.

I grew up watching Regis on Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee. I must have been in either grade 10 or 11. I loved them. It was to the point where I recorded their one-hour morning show on my VCR and watched it after school.

I watched the show when Kathie Lee left and it was Live! with Regis for a bit. Then, it became Live! with Regis and Kelly. I also watched him on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire while I lived in the States. It was great. Is that your final answer? Yes!

I continued to watch it until Regis retired. It was nice seeing him occasionally on Rachael Ray's show as a guest.

Regis was a wonderful storyteller. I loved his sense of humour. He was the best.

Show plans and progress

I have spent this weekend doing a bit of work. To make a long story short, I worked a couple of hours on Saturday. It's the perfect time to do this specific work, as no one else has any files open. If they did, I wouldn't be able to do what I needed to do.

I will leave work early on Friday to compensate. It's the perfect plan, for I am going to a show with my former student who is now a friend. She recently got her full driver's licence and is a bit nervous about driving to the venue's lot on her own. So, I will pick her up from work and go together. It makes sense that we park as one and save some money on parking. We'll grab a bite to eat before the show.

On Sunday, I spent the day trying to clean up. I made a dent, but I have plenty more to do. Some progress is better than no progress at all!

Weekends fly by too quickly. The countdown begins to get to the next one.

Quick Skype texting

Sometimes, it's worth texting my guy when I don't have a ton of time.

My guy is in Mexico this week on business. I am still in Las Vegas on vacation. We have a two-hour time difference, which isn't too bad.

On Tuesday evening, I had a show to see that was to start at 21:30. I saw my guy on Skype and pinged him twelve minutes before the show's start time. We texted.
"I'm staying at an Egyptian-themed hotel," I texted.
"Good. Do they serve fava beans, which are a part of a traditional breakfast in Egypt?"
"My friend and I went to an Irish restaurant and I had baked beans instead."
Later on, we had this exchange:
"I'm visiting Starbucks every day," I told him.
"Wow, I'm surprised," he replied.
"Are you being sarcastic?!" I wrote back.
"Me? Oh, no."
"Riiight," I wrote back.
It was a good thing that the show had a late start. We texted quite a bit. We had an extra ten minutes to text with each other.

We had to end it abruptly. I sent him a smiley blowing him a kiss. He sent me one with sunglasses, winking at me. We miss each other, but Skype is important when we are apart.

Who will spank Julie Andrews?

My favourite talk show is Live! with Kelly and Michael. I have been through a couple of host changes. I started watching the show when I was in high school, and loved watching Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford. They have both left the show.

Today, Julie Andrews was on the show. She is a great sport when it comes to spanking and who she would like to be spanked by.

I love her!

Playful spanking on Dancing with the Stars

Now and again, I will watch parts of Dancing with the Stars. There are some celebrities that I enjoy watching. In the past, it was Erin Andrews and Candace Cameron Bure. They both did pretty well considering that they don't have dancing backgrounds.

Alfonso Ribeiro is an exception. I watched him play Carlton on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air as a teenager. He does have a dancing background, which can be perceived as an advantage over the majority of the celebrities on this show.

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that Carrie Ann Inaba decided to playfully spank Alfonso for doing a good job after his dance:
Although where she was lightly slapping his backside is higher that it should be, it was cute. I am not sure whether the viewers enjoyed that or were freaked out.

Of course, the spanking would have been better with his pants and briefs pulled down, but it is a prime time show. =)

Maks and my guy... are they related affection-wise?

I don't normally watch Dancing with the Stars, except when it's near the end of the season. This season, I didn't watch a single show.

I do watch Live! with Kelly and Michael religiously, though. The winners and runners-up were on the show on Wednesday. Maks reminds me of my guy when it comes to affection.

Although Maks and Meryl have not said in public that they are an item, the affection that they show each other is sweet.

Maks kisses Meryl's hand a couple of times. He sweetly kisses her head, which I love when my guy does that. Maks wraps his arms around her from behind like my guy does with me. I end up touching his arms, which Meryl does with Maks.

The sweetest part? Maks is asked to take his shirt off in front of the audience. My guy would never do that! Maks asks Meryl if it would be okay. She gives him the nod -- permission -- and he does. My guy always asks if it is okay with me before he does something.

I wonder whether Maks and my guy are related. Well, maybe not... my guy doesn't have any tattoos and doesn't dance. That's okay by me. He's sweet to me and that's what counts.

I miss him. Just over two weeks seems like a long time before I see him.
