Last day of vacation

I spent a casual, relaxed last day of my vacation. I went out briefly to fetch a kebob dinner deal. You buy one dinner and get another for free. There was a lot of food. I needed a nap afterwards.

I start my day at 7 am for a four-hour conference call. Tuning into the first hour should allow me to get through my inbox of e-mails. Oh, joy!

Sharing my thoughts about my intern

Today was my intern's last workday. I'll write about today tomorrow.

Yesterday, our team was asked to say a few words about him in our virtual meeting. I liked what I said to him. It was heartfelt and he appreciated it.

I said that it was a pleasure training and working with him. I told him that from his first two weeks to the growth that I have seen in him to become the writer that he currently is has made me so proud of him.

I thanked him for being my wingman when going out to grab a bite to eat. I also liked that we bonded over the university that we chose to do our undergraduate degree. I looked forward to his joining me as an alum soon.

Over the course of his twelve-month term, I have been good in letting him know how he was doing. I'm glad that I did. I will miss working with him.

My intern's final week at our workplace and during a pandemic

This week is my intern's final week at my workplace. It's odd that I cannot wish him a proper farewell during a pandemic.

I normally get a small gift as a token of my appreciation for all the hard work that each intern brings. This intern, in particular, has been outstanding. We share a love for food and get along well.

As a team, we send each intern off with a farewell lunch. I have told him that we'll have a deferred one for him once we are able to socialize again.

Last night, I sent him an e-gift card. It seems informal, but I wrote a personalized message. It's better than doing absolutely nothing.

Luckily, we get to talk tomorrow. We have exchanged cell phone numbers, so we'll keep in touch.

I'm not sure how my team will manage without him. He has played such an important part of our team that the void will be difficult to fill, especially when we can't backfill his role.

Positivity snacks and a jerk who got what he deserved

Some places in the States do not ship to Canada. Recently, I contributed my thoughts about positivity on a company's Instagram account. This company ended up sending me a huge box of snacks as a gift. It was an extremely generous gesture.

Sadly, this place doesn't ship to Canada. However, I have a way to have items shipped up here through a shipping service.

There is one person at this shipping place who has been a pain to deal with. The first time I dealt with him, he asked for my ID. I was fine and asked if I needed to present it all the time, as none of the other staff members had asked me for it. He said no and that it was a one-time thing.

I dropped by a month later and he asked for ID. I reminded him that last time, he said it was a one-time thing. He made up a reason on-the-fly by saying that he will stop asking until he knows me. Um, I have been dealing with your business for four years. I'm a regular. You happen to be new and are making rules up as you go.

The third time I had to deal with him, he stopped asking me for my ID. Yay! The jerk, however, said my last name wrong. It's not a difficult last name or word to pronounce. I happily corrected him, staring sternly at hime. He actually apologized for a change.

On Saturday, I went in to pick up my box of snacks. This jerk was dealing with another customer who was yelling at him and dropped the f-word several times. I grinned. What goes around, comes around.

Luckily, I dealt with his female counterpart who was respectful and nice. She recognized me as a regular. I got my shipment, said thanks, wished her a good day, and left.

It helps to be kind to folks. If you're a jerk, there will be consequences to your attitude and behaviour.

Last day for the incompetent employee

Wednesday was the day. The incompetent employee, who has been with us for over four months, was let go.

She was kind to send me an e-mail that it was her last day. She wants us to stay in touch. That's cool. She also let me know what she was working on. I wish she had done that more often while she was with us. Better late than never, as they say.

She's a sweet person. She just has learning issues and is not suitable for this position. My employer is going through cuts. Naturally, those who are not pulling their weight get let go first.

My manager says that I am safe. I have been on both sides of this fine coin. I tend to bounce back because my skill set is decent. I continue to learn to strengthen my skills.

I hope that she finds a job soon.

Parting colleague and social awkwardness

I'm not sure why I end up installing an operating system update before I blog, but I did just that last night. The update took longer than I had anticipated. I decided to skip blogging.

Friday was an interesting day. It was my colleague's last day with the company.

My team isn't the best in organizing a decent farewell for a fellow colleague. I tend to do it because I care. I got the greeting card. I collected money from everyone to get a parting gift and got it. I handed over our gift to her and made a quick speech.

My manager is horrible at saying something heartfelt. It comes out socially awkward. I asked him to sign the card. He asked me if I could write something for him. Um, no. It needs to come from the heart, unless he doesn't have one.

He did eventually write something. My colleague and I talked before she exited, stage left. She let me read what he had written. It was standard. Nothing special. It's the effort that counts, I suppose.

She clued in that I put everything together. She thanked me a ton of times and asked if she could hug me. So, we did. It was cool.

I'm thrilled that she has found a new career opportunity. It's just sad to see a decent, competent colleague go.

New laptops and preparation differences

Every employee at work is getting a new laptop to replace his current one. The last time I got a new laptop was a good five years ago.

I dropped my laptop a few years back at home on hardwood. One of the corners of the screen pops out now and again. I am so ready for a new laptop!

My guy has never got a new laptop since our past company was acquired by our current one. He has been concerned about being passed over. I have sent him whatever e-mails come my way to him on replacement laptops.

I finally got my confirmation e-mail to indicate that my new laptop is being prepared. I asked my guy if he got his. He did.

For months now, we have received instructions to move our files to cloud storage, which is supposedly to make the transition from one laptop to another as smooth as possible. Naturally, I am in good shape. With my guy, the reason why he hasn't picked up his new laptop is because he is finally getting around to moving his massive number of files to the cloud.

I have a feeling that I will get my new laptop before he does. He's so predictable, as am I. He does everything late. I am the planner who is prepared. We wouldn't have things any other way.

Missing my guy and waiting for Fifty Shades Darker

It's February. Time certainly flies.

My guy has a number of rushed business trips. He is away from three weeks, may be back for a week, and then is off to another destination for a week. So, I won't be seeing him for a month, give or take a week.

One of his trips is to India. He didn't have time to get a work visa. Instead, he has to get a shorter term visa that only allows entry into the country once.

On top of that, he has a pile of work to do for his last trip at the end of the month, which is to our main headquarters. The subject matter is new, so he feels stressed. He trains during the day and works in his hotel room at night.

We talked about it yesterday. I told him that he always comes through. I always have faith in him. I just wish that I could help him. He knows that.

So, I miss him.

I will be watching Fifty Shades Darker on my own first. When he returns, we'll watch it together. I can't wait! The more I see press junkets and snippets of some movie scenes, it makes me happy.

Last spanking of 2015

My final spanking of last year was fun and a bit different. I brought the flower fly swatter with me. My guy liked how it felt in the hand. He also liked envisioning my backside getting sore and red after using it on me.
"It's now the time of truth," my guy said. "Are you a good or bad girl?"
"You have always said that I am bad," I replied. "If I kiss you, can we avoid spanking me as a punishment?"
"Try it and we'll see what happens," my guy replied.
"I think that you'll still spank me, but I want to kiss you."
We kissed. He has such sweet, soft lips.
"I have missed those lips," I told him.
"I love kissing you," he responded.
It was time for my spanking. I played the girl who didn't want to go over his knee. He led me over his knee and started to swat me with the fly swatter. My panties were already down to my calves. I suggested that he hike up my skirt. The swats across each buttock hurt more, as expected.

My guy actually liked the fly swatter's handle more, which was sturdy and green. He used that across my bottom. I could feel the sting that it was making. My guy remarked that my butt was getting pink.

I love a hand spanking. It is intimate. It also hurts more.

My guy reinforced that I was a bad girl and continued spanking with his bare hand. As expected, as more hard smacks landed across each bare buttock, I could feel my butt smarting. I covered as much as my backside as I could with my right hand.
"Move your gorgeous hand," my guy commanded, taping my hand lightly with his.
"It hurts," I whined.
"Good. You deserve it!"
My guy held my hand behind my lower back. He spanked me even harder for my stunt. He paused a couple of times to see how wet I was. I was extremely excited. He teased me by making me orgasm. I wanted to. He wasn't ready for me to do so, so he spanked me some more.

Of course, I called him Mr. Meanie. The hard smacks continued. He played with me some more. I wanted to orgasm. He spanked me some more.

Finally, when he felt that the time was right for me to climax, he fingered me until I did. It was incredible. I loved it. I was limp across his lap.

He lightly tapped my backside. Even the light taps hurt.
"Are you going to stop spanking me?" I asked him in a relaxed tone.
"Yes," he said, tapping each buttock one last time before letting me get up.
I hugged him tightly after I got up and sat next to him. He held me in his arms and kissed my forehead.
