Pigs in a blanket

I made pigs in a blanket with a silicone mould with little pigs. The bakeware is cute. However, you really need mini hot dogs to make it work.

I had regular hot dogs and cut them up into smaller pieces. I still felt that they were large.

The pigs in a blanket did turn out well. I will try reducing the time in the oven from 20 to 15 minutes. I found that the pancake batter was crispier than I would have liked. I used a sugar-free batter. I'm not sure if that had an effect.

I enjoy baking. It's fun.

Vacation is nearly over

My two-week vacation is nearly over. Originally, I had three weeks of vacation planned. I wish that I had kept it on the one hand. I do feel that it is best to keep it at two weeks. I may not want to work again if I do three weeks!

I train a new intern on Monday. My manager originally thought that he'd get involved in training. Frankly, I see that being a disaster, as he doesn't have the skills to answer specific questions related to our authoring tool. So, I decided to cut my vacation short and take this remaining week of vacation after my two weeks of training delivery are over.

I earned an extra week of vacation last year thanks to hitting my ten-year work anniversary. It's unfortunate that I can't travel due to the pandemic. However, it has been nice taking time off from work and doing whatever I feel like doing, even if it's just lounging at home.

I spent my first few days doing nothing but relaxing. I then moved to cooking, baking, organizing, and driving around. It has been great. I have enjoyed unwinding.

Nuking a potato that starts a fire sparks a fun chat while cuddling

Last week at the office, I got up to refill my mug of tea with hot water in the lunchroom. It smelled like something was burning.

I chatted with a colleague, who agreed that something was burning. She went to contact someone. She came back and let me know that someone was attempting to bake a potato in the microwave. The potato was being nuked for ten minutes. The paper towel on which the potato rested had caught on fire.

I have never nuked a potato in the microwave before. Perhaps placing it on a microwaveable dish would have been more appropriate. I don't know whether the potato was pierced. It should have been.

My guy and I have fun conversations after being intimate. We were cuddling when I told him about this store.
"The sad thing is that the fire wasn't big enough to burn the whole building down," I said.
"You really hate going to work, don't you?" he said, smiling.
"What tipped you off?" I asked, teasing him.
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe the burning down part," he grinned.
"Maybe," I said.
We both laughed. We continued to cuddle and chat.
