Returning to the office with more questions

Yestterday, I got official word from my employer that the office will be reopening to employees who are fully vaccinated on April 4. I have more questions than anything.

On a good note, I have taken April 4 off as a vacation day. I am doing a working vacation the previous week. It will likely be my last one working remotely.

We will be adopting a hybrid work model. It's supposed to be a 5-50 split being in the office and working remotely. Considering that it takes me an hour to drive into work, I want to see if I can make it more like a 60-40 split in favour of working from home.

I'm not sure how it will be organized. What if everyone wants to go into the office for work on April 4? I don't think the office can handle that capacity.

There is no organization or detailed planning. Do we sit where we used to over two years ago? Will my badge to get security clearance work?

Anyway, we'll see how things are communicated over the next few weeks.

My ex-guy wrote after realizing that I missed his birthday for the first time

A few posts ago, I wrote about deciding not to wish my ex-guy a happy birthday. I felt good about my decision.

It's not shocking, but he noticed that I didn't. I remember dates well. It was always like clockwork to send him an e-card or an e-mail to wish him a happy birthday.

Last night, he wrote back to me. In the Subject line, he said, "Hope you're doing well!" He then enclosed a photo of two purple birds perched on a tree.

Purple is my favourite colour. Birds are okay. They aren't my favourite, though.

There were two of them. Am I reading into the whole thing too much that they represented us? What we used to be or what we should be?

I also thought it was fitting that he wrote on April Fool's Day. I'm not sure if he was being genuine or playing a sick prank. Perhaps it was simply coincidence.

Interview thoughts, work, and taxes

The student interviews on Friday went well. We have three extremely good candidates. My boss and I need to choose one of them for the upcoming work term.

Frankly, it would be great if we could ditch the incompetent employee that we currently have for any of these three. They are far more on the ball that she will ever be!

My weekend has flown by. I spent a couple of hours doing some work. It wasn't difficult, but it did take up some time.

I also completed filing tax returns for my parents. It's nice that I got everything over by the end of March. I am a month ahead of schedule. Miracles do happen now and again!

I hope everyone has a great week ahead!

T is for T-minus four days before the Fifty Shades Darker digital download #AtoZchallenge

I went to see Fifty Shades Darker three times at the theatre. You have the option of getting the digital HD download with your ticket. I went with it.

The good news is that the digital download is released earlier than the DVD. I get to download it on April 25. I can't wait!

Naturally, I will still be getting the DVD version, simply because I am a fan and would like to see what goodies accompany it.

I haven't started my countdown to Fifty Shades Freed. I am sure I will get excited about that when it's out next February.

A is for April Fool's Day on Google Maps - #AtoZChallenge (AC)

It's April. This year is flying by! Unfortunately, it still feels like winter here. I got snow in my area a day or so ago.

Today is the first day of the A to Z Challenge. I hope that you'll enjoy reading along this month.

It's also April Fool's Day. I am a huge fan of Pac Man and all its derivatives.

Well, Ms Pac Man is making an appearance on Google Maps. You can actually play the game in your neighbourhood, provided that the grid is challenging enough for you to play.

You can play it either on your desktop computer or laptop, or on your mobile device. This screenshot is from my Google Maps app:

I just tried it and it's fun! Thanks, Google!

P.S. The (AC) in my blog post title stands for Adult Content. It means that my blog has adult content that may not be suitable for those participating in this challenge.

A-to-z challenge 2017

I have decided once again to participate in the A-to-Z challenge. I don't have a theme yet again. I would feel restricted if I did.

This year's challenge is a bit different. Rather than having a list of blogs that are shown on each post in April, I simply visit the challenge's site and leave a comment. That way, folks on that site can find my blog post and take the plunge to come visit here!

I hope that you'll read along in April. It's funny how, when I first started the challenge, I felt that I could not blog for practically the entire month of April. I did it and blog more often than I used to.

A to Z blogging challenge is back

For the second consecutive year, I have decided to participate in the A to Z blogging challenge.

Like last year, I will be blogging about a new topic each day in April. The first day's topic will start with the letter A, and I will continue with each letter of the alphabet until I reach Z.

I typically don't select a theme for these posts. I find selecting a theme to be more restrictive and I don't want to lose interest in posting daily.

Anyway, I am looking forward to this challenge. I hope that you will read along with me in April!

Blogging from A to Z Challenge

I saw that Han has signed up for the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. I decided that I would try it out, too.

Blogging from A to Z Challenge

Last year, I signed up for a similar one in June. It was a ton of fun.

This challenge is similar. The idea is to write your first blog post in April about a topic that begins with the first letter of the alphabet, the second blog post about a topic that starts with the letter b, and so on, all the way to z.

This challenge gets more difficult if you choose a theme. I won't be doing that. I have a feeling that if I did select a theme that I'd lose interest. I'd rather have some flexibility.

So, this challenge begins in April. Here's to my writing up a storm! I hope that you'll come and support my writing madness.
