Luggage check and a rainbow devil

Yay to the weekend!

It has been over 1.5 years since I looked at the contents of my luggage. Since I am travelling in less than a month, I opened it up to check out what I had there.

I'm glad that I am a planner. I ended up placing a travel facial scrubber in there, along with branded hockey team socks for the hockey games that I'll be attending.

I'll be wearing my quick-and-dirty rainbow devil costume later on today. It'll be fun, although it's supposed to rain all day.

Compression socks and foot pain

Last week, I bought a pair of compression socks. They are open-toe socks that go past my ankles. I wear one on my right foot before I go to bed because my foot pain happens with that foot only.

Last Saturday, I did a lot of walking downtown. The following day, I could feel my foot pain starting. I put on my compression sock immediately. Between one to two hours later, the pain went away.

It seems to be a great purchase. I'll need to test out my theory some more to determine whether it truly works or if this first experience was a coincidence. I'm hoping that it's the former.

Less sleep than expected

Last night, I woke up at 5:30 pm. It was a weird combination of my being warmer than normal, having my right foot start to stiffen up, and my bladder wanting some relief.

I ended up turning on my fan, even though the air conditioning was on. It has been extremely humid lately, but the humidity must have risen overnight for me to sense it. I also took some potassium for my usual right foot issues and attended to my bladder.

After 1.5 hours of being away, which included placing an order for pair of compression socks to help with circulation, I went back to bed and woke up at 9:30 am. I had roughly five hours of sleep. I tend to be functional with five hours of sleep, but crave more of it.

When I came back from running a bunch of errands, I had dinner and took a nap. It explains why I'm still fairly alert, but I'm ready for bed.

Here's hoping that I sleep better tonight.

Waking up early for a work call

It has been a while since I got up at 6:45 am for work. I needed to be on a conference call at 7 am. I haven't had to take this call in nearly two months. This call lasts for four hours.

I oddly woke up just fine. It's amazing how solid my sleep has been for the past week. I haven't had any foot pain since I've reintroduced exercise into my life. I am still eating a banana a day. I need to get it down to half of a banana a day and see how that goes.

The best part about starting my workday early is ending it early. I was so happy to call it quits just after 3:40 pm.

The drawer exercise continues. I only do fifteen minutes of reorganization a day. I have realized that I have more white socks than I had anticipated. I don't wear them to work. I'll need to wear more of them when I work out.

Reorganizing plastic bags and panties, fixing earrings, and more

Over a year ago, I was getting rid of stuff at home that I didn't need and reorganizing the stuff that I wanted to keep. I then went on what I didn't know was my last trip with my ex-guy. Since the breakup, I haven't had the motivation to reorganize my stuff and pick up from where I had left off.

I am motivated now.

On Sunday, I looked at all plastic bags that I had thrown into multiple bags and folded them up. They are now organized by size. I also found my iced tea flask. I will be brewing iced tea with a bunch of tea bags that need to be used.

I folded all my panties and bras in my drawer the way Marie Kondo does hers. I will say that it's such a major improvement and I have a nice, cheerful collection of panties and bras. I'll be doing socks and pyjamas next.

Finally, I have been converting earrings with French hooks over to leverbacks. I don't like the former because the hook part jabs into me when I wear them and I don't like the tiny plastic backings on the hooks. The conversion is pretty simple. I need to reorder more leverbacks.

I like that I have various projects on the go. It's great that the time that I used to spend commuting to and from work is put into tasks that are meaningful.

Sleepy, Superbowl, and socks

This trip has been super short. I took it easy on Sunday for a few reasons.

I still have muscle pain in my right foot due to my pinched nerve years ago. It acted up at around 6 am and I couldn't go back to sleep. Luckily, I went to the drug store a few hours later to get some potassium supplements. My muscle pain gradually went away.

I went to see my friend and had a lovely time catching up with her over lunch. She gifted me two pairs of socks that I love.

Congrats to the Kansas City Chiefs for winning the Superbowl this year. I wanted this team to mount a comeback and it did! I was texting with the new boy in my life about the game. It was nice. It felt normal and comfortable. Things continue to go well there.

I am nearly packed. I fly out later on today. I will need to extend my trip next time I'm here. Two days go by so quickly, especially when I'm a zombie. Late yesterday afternoon, I came back to the hotel and crashed. The nap was needed.

Slush equals soggy shoes and socks

Saturday was a soggy, slushy weather day. I didn't choose my shoes well. The slush got to my shoes and socks. It wasn't pleasant.

I'm out all weekend, but have made time to sleep in. It's good.

Avocado sock and a spanking certification for being like Cheap Bastard

I was talking to my guy about the Toronto Christmas Market. I went there a couple of weekends ago with friends.
"Did you find anything interesting?" he asked me.
"There were some unusual items. I found a single sock for your avocado," I said.
"What do you do with this sock?" he asked curiously.
"It keeps your avocado safe while ripening it," I replied.
"Wow," he said.
"I can't make this stuff up. It's all yours for a whopping $20. I sounded like you. I was outraged. I can get a pair of socks at the dollar store for much less," I admitted.
"Yes, you could get it for a dollar. You're becoming me. You are CB-certified," he replied.
"Thanks. That's a high compliment to be certified by you," I replied.
"I'll certify you when I spank that butt of yours and leave a red mark or so," he replied.
"You haven't spanked me for a while. It's long overdue," I noted.
"It is. When I see you again, I want to spank you for being my bad girl," he said.
"You'll need to rectify it soon," I replied.
"You mean erectify," he said, being punny.
"You mean you can erectify the situation. It's all you! I love it. It's clever and funny," I commented.
"That's a first. I didn't have to force you to admit that it was both clever and funny," he pointed out.
I like his certification style.

Belated birthday gifts for him and a sore butt for me

I finally gave my guy his birthday gifts last weekend. They consisted of the following items:
  • A six-pack of socks
He is getting into subtle patterns with his socks. He's conservative that way. So, half these pairs of socks have thin stripes. I got them in the States from one of his favourite stores.
  • Storage with built-in lightning, USB, USB C, and micro USB ports
The idea is to insert a micro SD card into this device. You can transfer your data by inserting the device into a USB port on your laptop. You can also transfer data to and from this device and your phone or tablet, depending on what cable you need.
  • Bandless earmuffs
The are called Earbags by a company called Sprigs. You flex them, scoop them over your ears, and then flex them back so they stay.
  • Beverage tumbler
It keeps hot drinks hot for eight hours and cold drinks cold for 24 hours. It fits nicely in your car cup holder and stores a ton of liquid goodness.
  • Gooseneck clip for your phone
You can clip this gadget to a desk or headboard. You then adjust the long gooseneck to the height that you need and look at your phone by attaching it to the other end.
My guy was so happy to get all these gifts.
"Where you do get these cools gifts? You're amazing," he said.
"You're sweet. Happy belated birthday," I wished him.
He kissed me. He was particularly excited about the bandless earmuffs. We both stood there and tried them out. I have a pair already.
"Wow, they stay put. These earmuffs are amazing!" he exclaimed with one on his left ear.
"I'm glad you love them. They also come with a pouch," I pointed out, with my trying out the right one.
Naturally, after being double-spanked, I felt the soreness.
"My butt is sore," I whined.
"You mean like this?" he said, and gave me a smack across my left buttock.
He's a sweet meanie. He rubbed my butt afterwards, which I love.
