Putting my fan together

The weekend is over. Weekends are way too short.

I pulled out a fan that I had bought a year ago. I don't know where its remote is. I also don't know where the rest of its stand is.

It's a sign that I should use what I buy immediately.

Weekend thoughts and humidity

Weekends come and go so quickly.

I spent Sunday writing, cooking, and relaxing. It was nice.

The only downside is that I feel like I am overheating at home. With two fans on, it's humid on the top floor of my home. Absolutely no breeze came in when I opened all windows.

Ugh.

Here's hoping that I can sleep better tonight.

Muhammad Ali as a category on Jeopardy! and my dad's boxing idol

I watched my parents watch Jeopardy! on TV the other night. One of the categories was Muhammad Ali.

I had forgotten how much my dad loved him as a boxer. My dad got every single answer in the form of a question correct. It was nice seeing him run the board in the category.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Less sleep than expected

Last night, I woke up at 5:30 pm. It was a weird combination of my being warmer than normal, having my right foot start to stiffen up, and my bladder wanting some relief.

I ended up turning on my fan, even though the air conditioning was on. It has been extremely humid lately, but the humidity must have risen overnight for me to sense it. I also took some potassium for my usual right foot issues and attended to my bladder.

After 1.5 hours of being away, which included placing an order for pair of compression socks to help with circulation, I went back to bed and woke up at 9:30 am. I had roughly five hours of sleep. I tend to be functional with five hours of sleep, but crave more of it.

When I came back from running a bunch of errands, I had dinner and took a nap. It explains why I'm still fairly alert, but I'm ready for bed.

Here's hoping that I sleep better tonight.

Hot flashes

I have taken a couple of days off from posting. All is okay, except for waking up a couple of times this week in the middle of the night.

I believe that I'm experiencing hot flashes. I may be premenopausal. It's weird and interesting.

So far this year, I have had a mini period in February that lasted a couple of days. It was definitely shorter than usual. January and March have been menstrual-free.

My last hot flash was last night. I woke up at 5:45 am and it was unpleasant. I ended up turning on my fan at the lowest setting that's perfect for sleep and I was able to sleep in till nearly 10 am.

I have heard that drinking cold water helps. I may need to fill an insulated water bottle with some and test it out. It has been yet another research topic.

Madonna's birthday and spankings

Madonna was a huge influence in my younger years. I first heard her music ("Holiday," to be specific) when I was eleven years old. I have been a fan for decades, although my fandom isn't as strong these days as it used to be.

When her song, "Hanky Panky," came out, I was secretly thrilled. I was in my teens, and got aroused when I thought about getting or giving a spanking. This sentiment hasn't changed.

Madonna turns sixty years old on August 16. She looks terrific! I was brought back to being a teen again with her latest instagram:

I like that she has spankings in plural. I love it!

M&M's fan for a fan

My guy got me an M&M's fan that has candy in it.
"I got you this gift," he said, handing it to me.
"You know, you didn't have to," I said, happy to have it nonetheless.
"I wanted to get it for you. The M&M's guy is a Seattle Seahawk," he noted.
"I love it. The fan works, too!"
I like how thoughtful he is.

P is for playoff hockey #AtoZchallenge

Years ago, I was a huge hockey fan. It was to the point where I would watch hockey every day, subscribe to NHL GameCentre Live, and go to several live games each hockey season, including playoff rounds.

When I got divorced, I still liked hockey, but lost much of that desire to watch hockey game after game.

I switched cell phone providers last October. I took on a corporate plan that was much more attractive than my old plan. This plan also includes NHL GameCentre Live for free, including playoff games.

I have rekindled my love for watching playoff hockey these days. I also like the idea of saving a ton of money by doing a compromise. I won't go and see live games as often as I used to. Instead, I can watch games from the comfort of my home.

It's all good.

My guy will be the first to admit that he isn't a sports person. He has asked me in the past to explain how baseball works. I like that he confides in me. I don't find that odd at all. I still don't understand how cricket works. He does.

So, I am perfectly content being a homebody and watching hockey games for free. My guy likes that I have adopted some of his frugal ways. He likes calling me his Cheap Bastard wannabe, which is sweet.

Fifty Shades Darker... I finally saw it!

I had a pretty long Friday. I departed my home at 06:50 to speak with six candidates at a university. My manager and I were interviewing them for our co-op student program in the summertime. They were all friendly, bright folks. Coincidentally, they were all female.

I drove my manager over to the university. Afterwards, I took him to a couple of places that my guy had recommended shopping-wise, as I was in my guy's neighbourhood. My boss loved both stores. Naturally, to complicate things, there was snow here and there. However, we're Canadians. Driving in snow should not be shocking when it's winter!

When I got home, I was tired, but not tired enough to look up movie times for Saturday for Fifty Shades Darker. I decided on a matinee. I looked at the seats that had been already purchased. The theatre still had plenty of seats, so I knew that I was good.

My guy texted me at 11:30 am. I had woken up about 45 minutes earlier (I love sleeping in on weekends) and was eating breakfast. I then headed out when my guy and I talked on Skype.

He is looking forward to my thoughts on the movie. I will share them with him when I talk to him on Sunday. You, lucky reader, get to read some of my thoughts about the movie right now.

Although the movie is two hours in length, it didn't feel like it. This second movie out of the trilogy was better than the first. The focus was on Christian wanting to be with Ana again and how they both compromised to get to a happy medium in their relationship. Christian opened up more to Ana. The whole dominant-submissive-contract deal was dropped.

I liked how happy they both were together and how they constantly worked on their love for each other. Of course, there were plenty of steamy scenes. There was a decent spanking, which made me think about my guy spanking me over the edge of a bed. I also loved the lovetap that Christian gave Ana when he put her over his shoulder. The elevator scene reminded me of the shenanigans that my guy and I have shared over the years.

The movie was darker with quite a number of folks from Christian's past wreaking havoc on Ana and Christian's relationship. The pace was fast to cram everything in, but it worked for me.

The spreader intrigued me. I liked how it was used by Christian to pleasure Ana orally. Christian then flipped her over and they had anal sex.

It was a highly enjoyable movie. I will probably see it again at the theatre with my guy. He would like the movie because it is more focused on working on the romance part of the relationship. Christian comes across as being more human. The coldness goes away as the movie progresses.

I decided to pre-order the digital download of the movie, which allows me to view it before the DVD is officially out. It's a first for me. The digital download will contain edited-out scenes, such as the playing pool scene in which Ana loses, gets spanked over the pool table, and then has sex on the table with Christian.

One final thought: I was the last person to leave the theatre. I waited for all the credits to roll. Why? A preview of Fifty Shades Freed followed. So, if you do watch the movie, stay till the end.

I am one happy fan.
