Robyn and pushy, drunk idiots

The other night, I went to see Robyn. It was a general admission concert.

I didn't realize that I had purchased a VIP ticket. I got early access into the venue to get a decent standing spot. I also got a commemorative bucket hat and laminated concert badge.

I got to the venue at 17:30. I was standing until 23:00, with a couple of bathroom breaks. My legs were not functioning well after the show. They felt like Jello.

For the most part, I am not a huge fan of general admission tickets. I'd sooner have a seat. You can dance and then take a break. I also like not spending most of the night up against other people.

Robyn was wonderful. She's a dynamic performer who sounds amazing. I had a wonderful time seeing her.

She is also incredibly strong. She started her career doing bubblegum-type music. She didn't want to fit in that mould and decided to break free. She has had her own say in her music ever since.

The downside to this concert was guys who ended up pushing and poking into me. It's one thing to brush someone by accident. When there are guys bumping into me often, I will push back. Sure, they are drunk, but it's pretty rude.

My legs are still sore from dancing and standing on my feet for over five hours. Thank goodness I don't go to such concerts often.

Honesty about anxiety and depression at work

I had a decent talk with my newest addition to my team. One of my students and I were training her on Monday. At the end of the session, what I didn't expect was this woman sharing that she has been depressed and anxious for two years.

It hit home for me. I have been there. So has my guy.

The good news is that she is on medication, which has put her back on track. She feels good. It shows. She is funnier during our team meetings.

I was impressed that she trusted us to share what she has been going through. Add to that mix the fact that her past two team leads have said negative things about her with little justification and my manager asking her to submit weekly reports (she is the only person on our entire team doing this task) can add to that depression and anxiety.

I thanked her for sharing all this information. I told her that I'm happy that she is on my team. She seemed to be absorbing the information well. She also asked thoughtful, intelligent questions today. She has potential. It probably hasn't been noticed by others.

I'm optimistic. I let her know to leave the baggage and negative past work experiences behind her. We are working with a clean slate now. She appreciated it.

Difference between we and you during a ruler spanking

On Saturday, our date night was a bit different. My guy's class ended an hour earlier than usual. It just meant that we got to see each other earlier, which was a bonus.

We met in our usual spot, in the treehouse. My guy and I got into the backseat. His hands were cold. I am nicknamed the furnace, as I tend to be so warm that holding his hands for ten minutes actually warms them up.

My guy is thinking about selling his beloved car. Recently, it has had a series of odd things happen to it. The battery drained a few times. Trying to use the manual key lock was a challenge, requiring a screwdriver to pop off the cover. The other week, one of his car's headlights died. Screwing in the lightbulb took a visit to a mechanic to diagnose the issue.

So, my guy is on the hunt for a pre-owned car again. He told me about what cars he has seen so far. I can only hope that he finds a car with fewer issues.

He then focused his attention on me.
"Even though you are on your period, I can still punish you," he said to me.
"No, I'm a good girl in a good world. You sang that to me recently," I teased.
"I don't think so. Where is your spanking apparatus?" he asked me.
"Apparatus? It sounds like you are conducting an experiment," I giggled.
He went to my glove compartment to find my ruler. He then signalled me to go over his knee, smacking my butt lightly with his hand.
"I think you have the wrong person," I protested, as I stretched across his lap.
"Nope, you're the bad girl that I want. I am going to spank you until you admit that you're a bad girl," he insisted.
"I am a good girl, though" I insisted.
"No, you are bad, bad, bad," he said, slapping my backside after each instance of bad.
"Good, good, good," I replied.
"Bad, bad, bad," he repeated.
I like when he slaps each buttock in rapid succession. The stinging feeling is nice for a bit until the pain starts to creep in.
"So, are we going to admit that we are bad?" he asked.
"We?" I asked him. "Who's we? The royal we?"
We both started to laugh. It's the writer in me. It's also the fun that we have during a spanking session. The chatter is fun.
"I mean you," he stated.
"You said we. If we means you, then yes, you are bad," I teased.
That remark led to more smacks with the ruler, which hurt.
"Are you going to admit that you're a bad girl?" he asked me.
"Yes, I am a bad girl," I said, caving in.
"Are you a bad girl or a very bad girl?" he continued.
"I just said that I am a bad girl. Isn't that enough?" I challenged.
More ruler smacks landed across my sore backside. I finally said that I was a very bad girl. He laughed and stopped. We then cuddled.

I enjoy the spankings that he gives me. They are fun and I like the idea of confessing that I'm bad.

Two phone calls to a good girl

It has been a while since my guy and I spoke over the phone. I can tell when he misses me. He doesn't have to blatantly state it. His calls say so much.

He called me after he had touched down, while he was waiting to go through security. We talked from that point to the baggage carousel where he picked up his luggage.
"Is that really you?" I answered his call.
"Yes," he replied. "You're on the road, as usual."
"I just left home to get a drink at Starbucks," I replied.
"That's so you," he said.
We chatted for a bit. It was nice to catch up. He was between flights. He flew in from Istanbul and he was off to some place in Mexico. I told him to get some rest, as it was a pretty long travel day for him.

Just before 20:00, he called me again.
"You must be on the plane," I replied.
"Yes, I am. I decided to call you to see how you're doing," he said.
"You're sweet. I hope that you can get some sleep on the plane," I stated.
"I will do my best."
I told him a brief story about being in Anaheim and how the Starbucks at the hotel that I was staying at was more a resort cafe. In other words, it charged more for everything and did not honour any Starbucks rewards.
"See, you must admit that it was a ripoff there," he teased me.
"It was. It's like when you tell me to admit that your jokes are funny and clever. Now, I need to admit that the products at that Starbucks were overpriced," I replied.
"Yes, you must admit all of that," he said, probably grinning.
"I admit that I am a good girl," I replied.
"That's one thing that you can't admit because it's untrue," he told me.
"You're still Mr. Meanie!" I exclaimed, with a slight whiny tone in my voice.
"Nothing has changed. I'm still Mr. Meanie," he stated.
"I'm glad."
At around 20:10, the announcement to turn off your cell phone happened on his flight. I wished him a safe flight and lots of sleep.

I miss him, but much less after speaking to him twice in a day.

Admitting that I am a good girl before my next spanking

My guy and I chatted on Skype yesterday night. I was driving home from work. He had just finished packing.

He hasn't been able to call me for the last two days.
"I apologize," he said to me.
"Cool. You're a bad boy and I'm a good girl," I replied.
"Only for today," he replied.
See, another breakthrough has happened! I am a good girl for a full 24 hours. Yay!

I get to see him tomorrow, as he is flying home.
"You'll be a bad girl by the time I land. You'll be getting a spanking from me."
I can't wait to see him. I like when he threatens to spank me.

Hot dogs - miracles do come true

If you have been reading along for a bit, you will know that I do enjoy eating a hot dog from time to time. I tend to have a hot dog when I'm hungry after exercising my wallet at Costco. I also like having a hot dog when I am watching either a live sporting event or a movie.

Whenever my guy and I are out, and I see a hot dog option on the menu, I ask him if he would get me one. He will flat out tell me no. He did make an exception a couple of months ago and said that I could order one because he was in a good mood.

Our usual debate is that my guy argues that eating hot dogs is bad for your health. I tell him that I can get all-beef ones. He is unconvinced that they are truly pure beef. So, I end up telling him that eating hot dogs are yummy, which drives him crazy.

Well, he admitted to me that he had to eat some hot dogs last week in Dubai. I asked him for photographic proof. He refused and said that I should trust him.

My guy was still recovering from his jetlag. He woke up one morning and was running late for work. He ended up going to work on an empty stomach. My guy is the type of person who cannot function if he is hungry. He needs to curb his hunger immediately before he can function normally.

The only food available during his first break at the customer site were hot dogs. He told me that it was painful for him to eat them (yes, plural), but he was hungry and had no choice in the matter.

Today, I teased him that he has eaten more hot dogs this year than I have. It's a fun exercise, likely resulting in a sore bottom on my part. It's worth it!
