Life has its ups and downs
Life works in mysterious, wonderful ways. With sadness comes a silver lining.
I found out yesterday that my junior kindergarten teacher had passed away recently. She was musical. I remember singing in her class all the time and I loved it. It's likely one reason why I love music.
I posted her obituary on a social medium platform. A friend of mine revealed that we were likely in the same junior kindergarten class, but didn't know it. It's crazy to think that we have known each other since we were four years old! We forged a friendship in high school She switched elementary schools. Yet, we still have memories of truly knowing each other as four-year-old kids, but didn't make the connection until now.
Perhaps it's just a sign that our teacher's passing has sparked a new perspective on our friendship. Pretty cool!

Sleeping in is wonderful
My guy and I share a love for sleeping in on weekends. He likes sleeping in, whether he is on the road or at home.
I'm a bit different. When I am on the road, I like being out and about. I don't sleep in too late. I like to see what's around the area. He isn't that adventurous.
I was exhausted last night. I first slept for eight hours. I then took a nap later on in the day that ended up being 1.5 hours.
I enjoy my weekends. I remember being a grad student and not having that luxury of sleeping in. I can't imagine being a grad student again. I like my weekends to relax and do whatever I'd like, including sleeping.
It's the long Easter weekend. I have two more nights to sleep in. It's nice

Haircut and reunion with my hairdresser
I got my hair cut on Thursday. I got four inches off my hair length. It feels great!
For over a year, I had a wonderful hairdresser that did a great job cutting my hair. Sadly, the salon that I went to had closed. It took me a while to find a new salon with an equally competent hairdresser. I found it this past summer.
On Thursday, I went in said salon and checked in. I heard a familiar voice. It was my wonderful hairdresser. Yay!
It's nice to know that everyone at that shut down salon has moved over to this one. I got another hairdresser who has worked with Ms. Wonderful for twenty years. This one did a great job on my new hairdo.
I'm thankful that I have two hairdressers who style my hair perfectly!

Passing of my guy's mom
My guy's mom has passed away. He flew home yesterday for her funeral.
It is unfortunate that she passed just before the holidays. However, my guy saw her less than two weeks ago, so he is grateful for spending a week with her.
My guy is holding up under the circumstances. He is a wonderfully strong person who appreciates leaning on me when he needs to.
