Nose bleed while stateside

While in the States, I did have something odd happen to me. I didn't write a whole lot while away because I wanted to immerse myself in everything. I did want to write about this weirdness, but I didn't want to alarm everyone.

Just before I went to bed, which was a Friday just before 2 am, I had sneezed three times. I am normally not a sneezy person, so that was a sign. I then felt the need to blow my nose. I did. That's when I ended up with a nose bleed.

I don't normally get nose bleeds. The last time I did before this incident was in grade 2. I was standing in line behind two boys in my class. They were fighting. An elbow landed on my nose and it bled. My teacher helped me stop my nose bleed.

So, here I am, trying to pinch where my nostrils are starting, find a can of vodka soda to put on the bridge of my nose and forehead to stop the bleeding, and lean more forward than tilting my head back. After maybe forty minutes, my right nostril stopped bleeding.

Weird. My take is that it was so dry in my room that my nostrils weren't as moisturized as they typically are at home. The sneezing and nose-blowing ended up rupturing a blood vessel. Thus, I had a nose bleed.

I rested for a bit. I then decided to take Friday off as a sick day and sleep in. At this stage, it was just after 3 am when I recovered from my efforts to stop my nose bleed.

I'm glad that it wasn't an epic nose bleed that couldn't be stopped. Thank goodness I kept calm. I didn't drink the vodka soda after that, but I did the following evening.

Later on that day, I got saline spray from the drugstore to moisturize my nostrils. I have been nose bleed-free ever since.

Things are never dull. Sometimes, I prefer dullness!

Dinner date before flying off

Whenever my guy and I are at the office, we often go out for lunch together. We haven't done that since late November.

For some reason, the demand for classes held at our workplace has subsided substantially. He hasn't been travelling all that much, either. I can't complain, for I have been lucky to see him more than I used to when he was constantly on the road.

I do miss having lunch with him, though.

Dinner with him on Saturday felt like our lunch dates. We revisited the same restaurant close to our workplace. The place has revamped their menus, which was the only change.

Despite the restaurant being pretty packed for a Saturday night, we managed to get seated quickly and got out of there in an hour.

I went with my regular dish, which is the spicy garlic chicken. I scoured the new menu for something with ginger in it, for my guy loves ginger. I found ginger beef, which he automatically ordered.

We were both happy to have our favourite dishes. It was also nice to catch up. My guy looked tired from the stress of doing a last-minute task that was unexpected before heading to meet me. However, he was happy hearing me talk. I suppose that it gave him some time to unwind.

After dinner, we walked holding hands to our cars. Naturally, I led the way to the office. First, I have a lead foot when I drive. Second, it allows my guy to follow me without getting lost.

We parked at work. My guy got his luggage and such out of his car and into mine. We then got into my car, with my offering to car-sit his car for three weeks. Naturally, my guy held onto his keys rather tightly.

I caressed his head, which had stubble that was soft to the touch. We then held hands as I drove us over to the terminal.

I parked. He gave me his usual just-stand-there-and-don't-lift-anything-because-I-don't-want-you-to-hurt-your-back look as he unloaded my car's trunk and placed each item on a cart.

We hugged. It felt like a minute being in each other's arms. He smelled good. I felt good. I could tell that he did, too.
"Send me a quick note that you have arrived safely," I said to him.
"Will do," he replied, blowing me a kiss as he headed into the terminal.
He's gone for three weeks. It's a good thing that we have Skype.

Hard nipple observations

My guy is observant when it comes to looking at my physical attributes. As an example, he can always tell when I have cut my hair or have trimmed my bangs.

He also notices when my nipples are hard. He doesn't have to touch them. He just looks and knows.

The other day, after we had hugged and we were heading our separate ways, he noticed that my right nipple was hard.
"It only happens when I am with you," I said to him, which made him smile.
"I know," he said, blowing me a kiss as he walked over to his car.
It's nice having an attentive, attractive guy.

P is for pet and paddle

I recently got a betta fish as a pet. I last had a one a decade ago.

I was partially inspired to get a pet fish when I saw a beautiful Kickstarter project where the aquarium uses aquaponics to filter the water and even grow plants! It is a beautiful environment for my fish, who seemed so sad cooped up in a small see-through plastic container at the pet store.

Last Sunday, my friend and I went to the pet store. I picked out a male halfmoon betta. He is blue with a bit of red. He's pretty.

The aquarium system came with betta pellet food. I tried feeding it to my fish and he didn't want any of it. I was concerned that he didn't want to eat anything.

I then remembered that my first pet liked freeze-dried bloodworms. I went to my local pet store and bought a jar. I came back home, fed him one, and he loved it. He is a foodie!

I told my guy about my new pet fish. He's happy that I have a pet again. I have named him Bubbles, because he seems incredibly fascinated by the bubbles that he encounters on the water's surface. He also like making bubbles himself.

He reminds me of my guy, except that the latter likes blowing kisses at me from afar. Both are sweet fellas, though.

As for going down vacation memory lane, I had brought my leather paddle. I took it out of my suitcase one day with my guy standing next to me. He took it from me and gave my backside several hard swats. He laughed. He is truly my Mr. Meanie.

That's okay. I took the paddle back and gave him a couple of swats. It was my guy's first time with it. He didn't complain. He didn't whine. He didn't say that he didn't like it. He's doing well and continues to still be interested in being spanked.

Turkish delight and walnuts

My guy recently returned from Cairo. He is a thoughtful, sweet guy. He tends to bring me a souvenir back from his travels.

He brought me Turkish delight, but the Egyptian version. It's basically a long cylindrical piece of Turkish delight, with whole walnuts inside.

On Thursday, my guy came into work at roughly the same time as I did. It shocked me. I tend to get to the office sooner than he does. He was obviously still adjusting to the time difference. I was obviously still waking up.

We both have rolling laptop bags. We rolled them into the elevator.
"The Turkish Egyptian delight is delightful," I said to my guy. "It reminds me of your member when it's happy."
"I'm glad you like it," my guy said, laughing.
"The walnuts are so fresh. So are yours," I said in a cheeky way.
Last week, I was working from various meeting rooms on the second floor of our office building. My guy was on the third, so we wished each other a good day when I was about to leave the elevator. Of course, we'd be having lunch together in a few hours. Still, he blew me a kiss before the elevators closed.

His sweetness never goes unnoticed.

Quick Skype texting

Sometimes, it's worth texting my guy when I don't have a ton of time.

My guy is in Mexico this week on business. I am still in Las Vegas on vacation. We have a two-hour time difference, which isn't too bad.

On Tuesday evening, I had a show to see that was to start at 21:30. I saw my guy on Skype and pinged him twelve minutes before the show's start time. We texted.
"I'm staying at an Egyptian-themed hotel," I texted.
"Good. Do they serve fava beans, which are a part of a traditional breakfast in Egypt?"
"My friend and I went to an Irish restaurant and I had baked beans instead."
Later on, we had this exchange:
"I'm visiting Starbucks every day," I told him.
"Wow, I'm surprised," he replied.
"Are you being sarcastic?!" I wrote back.
"Me? Oh, no."
"Riiight," I wrote back.
It was a good thing that the show had a late start. We texted quite a bit. We had an extra ten minutes to text with each other.

We had to end it abruptly. I sent him a smiley blowing him a kiss. He sent me one with sunglasses, winking at me. We miss each other, but Skype is important when we are apart.
