My manager is out sick for the entire week

My manager's entire family has the flu. I am pretty sure that he got his yearly flu shot, so the strain must be different and pretty nasty.

He said that he was out for the entire week. We had an interview scheduled for this Friday. I asked the woman who had scheduled it to change it. She was extremely accommodating and it's now set for next Monday.

I like that this week has been light workwise. I hope that it remains that way for a bit.

Cancelled and rescheduled flights

On my last full day in the States, I received a notification on my phone driving back to the hotel that my flight heading home the following day was cancelled. My heart sank.

I pulled over to check my inbox. I'm glad that I did. The airline managed to book me on an alternative set of flights home. It involved going into the opposite direction. I essentially flew from Minneapolis to Denver, and then to Toronto.

It was roughly an extra three hours. It made for a long day, but I was grateful to get home on the same day and wasn't left stranded somewhere.

I was originally upgraded to business class. With these two flight segments, only my second one was in business class. It was fine, as it was the longer segment.

In business class, I sat next to a nice, older man. He figured that I was heading home to Toronto, probably because I was my usual polite self. He was heading to Dubai after landing in Toronto. He had a two-hour layover.

By the way, the flight out of Denver was delayed by two hours. It isn't unusual these days with staff being sick.

When the plane touched down in Toronto, he said, "Welcome home!" He made a comment that it's always a good feeling returning home. He was right.

I have been fortunate to have struck up conversations with folks during my travels. I enjoy them. He was so nice by getting my backpack and jacket from the overhead bin.

Rescheduled dental appointment and relaxing

I was supposed to have my bi-annual dental appointment next week. My dentist's office is still closed. Instead, my appointment has been rescheduled to sometime in November.

I am relieved. My electric toothbrush that I've had for the past three months has been doing a great job.

On Sunday, I spent the day cooking and relaxing. It was great.

I'm relaxing now before I head to bed. I got a bit tense last hour. I'm still trying to figure out what is making me anxious. I'm now thinking that it's not work-related.

Foot pain, freezing drizzle, snow, and mending

I had excruciating foot pain at around 3 am. It was likely from all the walking that I had done yesterday. I couldn't go back to sleep after consuming some Ibuprofen.

On top of that, there was freezing drizzle, followed by snow. I decided to reschedule my lunch meeting with my friend for Tuesday. It worked out well for her, as she had to clean up her laptop before returning it, and she needed more time. She welcomed the extra day.

I have spent my day getting rid of my foot pain in my hotel room. The pain finally subsided a few hours ago. I managed to nap a couple of times, so I am feeling much better.

It's a good thing that I am a planner. I had bought groceries last night, so I heated up food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I even have dessert! More importantly, my foot pain generally gets better when I have foods rich in potassium. I brought supplements. However, I also bought a carton of soy beverage, which has potassium. Two glasses later, my foot pain went away.

It has been quite the day. I look forward to heading out later on today. I hope that the road conditions are much better. The snow is supposed to stop soon.

Feeling exhausted from work and not hearing my alarm go off

It has been a crazy few days at work. We have been working towards a major software release.

My small team of three finished our work on Monday. So we thought.

I was so exhausted that I didn't hear my first alarm go off at 07:45 on Tuesday morning. It's unusual for me to not hear my alarm. My second alarm at 08:00 went off. Thankfully, I heard that one.

I had a teleconference at 08:00. I logged on using my phone, rather than taking ten minutes to log in on my laptop. Thank goodness this teleconference was rescheduled.

Anyway, there was a pressing issue with broken links in our content. I don't own this content. Another writer, who was up at the same hour and is responsible for said content, was on a conference call. She isn't as pick-up-and-go as my team is. I just did the update. My mini-me helped with the other part of the task, which took up most of the morning.

My team rocks. We are also exhausted.

We just got word an hour ago that the software release was successful. Yay!

Now, I simply need to get through this week. My going on vacation is within reach.

Rescheduled trip and hugs

Over the weekend, my guy brought up some good news.
"It looks like my trip has been rescheduled to next month," my guy said.
"That's great. Can I come?" I asked him.
"Of course. It will give us plenty of time to play," he hinted.
"Yay!" I said.
We both can tell when we have missed each other. We don't need to say a thing. When we embrace, we feel it. We hug each other tightly. It's feels good.

Making up for a lost lunch date

My guy and I were contemplating whether to have lunch on Wednesday. For some reason, Wednesdays are often not meant for us to get together to chat and eat.

Today, my guy had a huge breakfast and then snacked on some trail mix. So, by the time lunch had rolled around, he wasn't hungry at all. Instead, he rescheduled lunch for Thursday.

I didn't feel sad. I wasn't disappointed. I ended up going to work just before 13:30. Wednesdays tend to be long for me. I have early morning conference calls that start at 07:30 and tend to be chatting throughout the day with various folks.

Just before I headed off to my 16:00 meeting (the third and final meeting of the day), my guy called me. We chatted a bit. I told him how great it was to hear his voice. I said it twice. He wished me a good meeting and told me to swing by the training room after work.

My meeting went overboard by fifteen minutes, which wasn't too bad. We have quite the chatterbox in the group. For me to cut it short like that was almost a miracle.

I dropped by the training room. My guy was quietly working in front of his laptop, trying to upload a bunch of files to a corporate FTP site. It was painfully slow.

We talked about our day. I caressed his head, massaged his forearm, and held his hand in mine. He was wearing the sweater that I had bought for him while I was in London. He looked good in it. He loves it.

We both had the same thought. He said it out loud. I just did it.
"May I get a kiss?" he asked me.
"Maybe," I said, teasing him.
We kissed. His soft lips pressed against mine always feel so good. It was nice to pause a bit by brushing my cheek up against his before kissing it. I then resumed kissing him on the lips, licking them, adding a bit of tongue to the mix.

My guy changed the ambiance up a bit. He dimmed the lights and hooked his laptop to the projector, which was at a fairly dim brightness.

He came over to where I was sitting and caressed my breasts. I loved how great they felt. He placed his hands under my green sweater and played with my breasts some more, massaging them in my black bra. He proceeded to reach under my bra, to play with my breasts and nipples. It felt so good.

He could tell that I was turned on. He rubbed my crotch and kissed me. He wanted me to reach orgasm. It worked. I did. It was awesome.

Moments later, when I had more energy, I managed to stand up, and lovingly caress and kiss the top of his head. He liked that. I then rested my cheek against it.

He tells me that I am sweet and cute. He is sweet and loving, among other adjectives.

We talked a bit more before we called it a day. This moment together certainly made up for our cancelled lunch date.

Chinese tea, rescheduled treehouse time, and lunch

I can't help it if I am the type who tells folks when I am in the office. I find it common courtesy to tell others of my availability and whereabouts. Unfortunately, my boss is horrible at telling folks when he's away, unless you strike up a conversation with him and he reveals that information to you. Perhaps it's a guy thing, for my guy is similar.

I came to work in the morning. I had two interviews to conduct. After my second interview, I noticed that my guy was at his desk. He is in a training session all week. I had to walk past him to talk to another colleague. I did manage to strike up a conversation.
"On a break?" I asked him.
"Hi! Yes," he replied, looking at me and checking me out, as he tends to do.
After speaking to my other colleague, I came back to catch up with my guy. He was ranting about a project manager who was slowing down the entire class. I told him that it was a nice change to see that he was aggravated. Normally, I am the aggravated, irritated one.

I could tell that my guy had missed me. The other day, he asked if I was going to be at work for the entire day today. Today, he asked me how late I was going to be hanging around.

I was still at work when my guy returned to his desk at lunchtime. I had made plans to have lunch with a colleague. My guy asked if he could join us. Of course! I offered to drive.

Our colleague left to visit the women's washroom. My guy and I chatted about Chinese tea. I had given him a set of four different Chinese teas as a Christmas present to him. It came in a nice, white wooden box with a magnetic closure. He likes the present a lot. We are both tea drinkers. I also thought that it was fitting, as the tea would remind him of me.
"I like all things Chinese," he smiled, hinting at me. I looked into his eyes and knew that he wanted quality time with me.
"You can enjoy all things Chinese after work tomorrow," I said, as I now had two interviews to conduct that day.
"Sounds good," he said.
What was different was the fact that my schedule dictated when we'd have treehouse time. I normally come into work on Wednesday afternoon. However, I had to make an exception today. My guy understood, although he had planned for quality time today. He didn't seem disappointed, but I could tell that he wanted it badly.

Lunch was wonderful at our local hangout. We all entered the restaurant. My guy held the door open for us. He groped my right buttock, which made me want to melt.

Conversation was nice. My guy and I sat next to each other. My guy reached for my left hand. He touched my hand and fingers. I reciprocated. It was nice having our fingers intertwined.

We had lunch and joked quite a bit. After we had finished eating, I touched and squeezed his right thigh. My guy likes how affectionate I tend to be. At one point, he rubbed his leg against mine. It was hot.

We left the restaurant and my guy lovingly put his arm around me. It was sweet and needed.

I drove them back to the office. I was heading home to work for the remainder of the day. My guy got out of my car, bend down, looked and me, and blew me a kiss.

Although we keep our relationship pretty civil during business hours, it's nice that we can quietly show that we are thinking about and love each other.
