Sleep

Last night, I didn't sleep all that well. I woke up way too early, likely because my body is used to getting up for work. Ugh!

The other issue was that I had black tea fairly late in the evening. Oops.

I hope that I'll sleep better tonight. I'm on vacation. Please co-operate, body!

Achy body, stronger heart, and reflection

I am still achy. It helped that I worked from home on Wednesday. I got to take it easier than if I were at work.

It has taken a while for me to realize that all the stress at work and in my life has finally hit me. I truly need to take it easy.

Yesterday marked my ex-husband's birthday. I didn't feel anything. I suppose that being in such an unhealthy relationship has made me numb. I hope that he is okay in heaven.

I do feel differently about my recent breakup. I loved my guy. I didn't feel the same way about my ex-hubby. I fell out of love with him, but stayed with him until I had the strength to leave.

It's good to know that time has healed me with my ex-hubby. Here's hoping that I am at that same peace of mind with my guy soon.

Achy, knotted body

My body is one huge spasm. I probably walked too much on Saturday.

It has been ages since I've had a back spasm on my right side. Yep, it's back. At work, my lower back was achy all day on Monday.

My neck has also been pretty tight. I blame work and how knotted I seem to be over the various stresses. I also think my breakup has something to do with it.

Although I walked a ton on Saturday, I was relaxed. Working with a few people who are incompetent has affected me in an odd way. The good thing is that I am a few days away from leaving work behind and being on vacation.

Friday afternoon couldn't come any sooner!

In the meantime, I have been stretching out my back and staying hydrated. So far, it's helping.

Cold and Daylight Saving Time

Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night cold. Ir's rare for me.

My guy typically needs more blankets. First, he likes rolling himself in them. Second, he gets cold faster than I do.

On the other hand, I tend to be warm to begin with. He calls me the furnace because I am that warm body-wise. It's rare for me to feel cold.

Luckily, I have some throws by my bed. I used one over my comforter and went back to sleep. I didn't stir. I woke up six hours later.

It's Daylight Saving Time soon. Note that Saving does not have a letter s at the end. The clocks go ahead by an hour. We'll see how that works with my biological clock!

Stress - need a mental health day

I feel achy. Physically, I feel a dull ache all over my body towards the end of the day. It's such an odd feeling. It has persisted for a couple of days now.

I have a feeling that it is stress-related. One of my students is wrapping up her workterm on Friday. My other two students end their term the following week. I go back to handling everything until folks come and relieve me.

Next workterm, I only have one student. I also have one full-time person taking over most of my duties, but she needs to clear a background check. This check can take weeks.

I am supposedly moving on to do process work. However, my manager continues to dump ridiculous tasks on me. I truly don't have time to do work that he can easily do.

Tomorrow, which is really today, I am taking a sick day. I need a mental health break. I also need a physical one.

It is important to listen to what your body is saying. Mine is screaming for some rest. I can also tell that it is stress-related when the left side of my neck gets tight.

Naming places of interest on a map with sexy body parts

My guy is the first to admit that he is directionally challenged. I started this conversation the other day.
"It amazes me how you have trouble finding your car in a parking lot. When it comes to finding and touching various parts of me, you have no difficulty. You don't need a map. Nothing," I remarked.
"That's true. I can find any part of you that I'd like to touch, even in the dark," my guy said proudly.
"I wonder why that is," I pondered.
"Maybe various neighbourhoods need to have sexy body part names, like misty valley or nipple hills. I would find my way just fine," he observed.
He would definitely be happy and would be GPS-free!

Warm and cool

My guy is in Cairo again this week, which is unseasonably cold. Temperatures there are not much different than in Toronto.

He told me the other day that he had to buy two space heaters to keep him warm, as there is no heating where he is staying.
"I wish that I was with you to warm you up," I said.
"You are like a furnace," he commented.
I am warm-blooded. Whenever my guy has cold hands, I hold his in mine until they warm up.

I envy him in the summertime. I don't do well in heat and humidity. I end up sweating buckets and hibernating in any place that has air conditioning. He, on the other hand, is perfectly cool under such conditions. Sometimes, he ends up wearing a long-sleeved dress shirt and I marvel at how he can stay comfortable in it.

We are different. Yet, we balance each other out in many ways.

Phone call about packages and bodies

Last Friday, I worked from home. My guy was at the office, conducting another seminar.

The day before, he told me that his niece was looking for a digital SLR camera. He knew that I wanted to sell my very first DSLR. I have had it for nearly five years and decided to go with a lighter one almost a year ago. He was wondering whether I was still interested in selling mine. I was. In a short period, it was sold.

After work on Friday, at around 17:30, my guy called me on his cell phone. He rarely calls me. When he does, it is either urgent or special. It was both this time.

My guy was driving home. I decided to tease him.
"You're calling me because the chatter on CBC Radio 1 about gnats regurgitating their food is boring you, right?"
"No, that's not it! You make me sound so bad!" he exclaimed.
"You know that I am just teasing you, right?" I said, trying to calm him down a bit.
"I know," he replied. "I just wanted to let you know that my niece absolutely loves the DSLR. She has been taking pictures of everything ever since I gave it to her, so thanks," he said.
"You're welcome. Thank you!"
"She loved everything in the package that you had bundled up," he went on to explain.
"You have a nice package, too," I hinted.
"You're so bad!" he exclaimed again.
"It's true."
We talked a bit longer.
"The good thing about DSLR lenses is that they never go out of style," I explained. "As long as you have a body that fits them, it's all good."
"I agree," he said. "You have a nice body that fits everything."
We get along fine on so many levels.

We wished each other a great weekend and I told him to drive safely home. He's such a sweet guy.

Hand and body creams require an applicator

The last time my guy and I were together, we were in the training room at work. It was a holiday.

There are a number of details that I didn't mention. My post was rather long, but the main points were all there.

After my guy had spanked, fingered, and got me off, he kissed the small of my back several times. I loved it. He has kissed me there one other time. It's sweet.

My guy has told me that I have nice skin. Ever since my guy had given me two tubes of ultra-moisturizing lotion, I have been applying them religiously on my hands and legs just before I go to bed.

I wrote my guy an e-mail last night. Here's the part about the hand and body cream:
By the way, I love the hand creams that you got me. They smell nice and they hydrate my skin nicely. I look forward to the day when you can apply for the job as my official applicator. =)
My guy did well in the which-creams-should-I-buy department. Yes, my pun was intentional in my e-mail. He wrote back to me a few hours later:
Glad you like the hand creams and look forward to assume my new position as official cream applicator (hands and otherwise :))
Sure, being apart for weeks is tough. He's sweet to leave me gifts at work. Writing and chatting are important. The time apart doesn't seem so bad.

My guy is currently up in the air, flying over to Sweden. My guess is that he's stopping over in Frankfurt, but I could be wrong. Last time, he stopped in Copenhagen, got me a chocolate croissant, and flew home. He's incredibly thoughtful and spoils me. I have truly lucked out.

My guy shopping in Victoria's Secret, but not for lingerie... just yet

My guy and I have been chatting on Skype for the last three evenings. It has been great.

Before leaving for Brazil, my guy left me a gift in my desk drawer at work. He told me that he had visited Victoria's Secret last week and got me a couple of items. He also got some double hot chocolate that I had wanted to try when we were in the United Airlines lounge in Newark International Airport.

My guy doesn't know what size I wear when it comes to lingerie. He has the same view as I do about clothing. It's just better to shop with the person.

In the past, I had mentioned what my bra size was to him once. He had asked me about cup size, so I gave him my bra size as an example. I told him that it hasn't changed in years and he attentively made sure that he remembered my bra size. He seems genuinely interested in getting me a bra-and-panty set. I also told him what my panty size is, too.

I commended him on how great it was that he ventured into the store. In general, I would think that it would be a bit uncomfortable for a guy. He was fine. He bought me two tubes of hand and body cream from the place, which I love. He did well.
"You have nice skin," he said to me. "I hope that I can apply the lotion on you."
"I'd like that," I replied.
My guy mentioned again that he wanted to get me lingerie the next time he was in Victoria's Secret.
"You have seen my bras, so you have an idea of what I like," I said.
"Yes, I do!"
"I like lace. It's so pretty and feminine," I elaborated a bit.
"You look great in those lacy panties."
I recently found a pair of panties that I adore from that store. The panty's front is cotton. Its back is lace. It's the perfect balance. More importantly, they are comfy to wear.

My toys came in the mail today. I will likely talk about them later. I like my purchases.

The best part about our chat was that he indicated that he was going to India and the States again on business. He wants me to join him. I am game. I have three weeks of vacation left. I have already used a week of vacation that I had carried over from last year. It was fun spending time with him. We both agreed that it would be perfect to do it again.
