Configuring a new work laptop

On Tuesday, I went into the office to pick up my new laptop. My current one is four years old and its lease is about to expire. The company leases all laptops.

I spent a couple of hours configuring my laptop and getting software updates installed. I then finished things up at home. So, perhaps I had spent three to four hours getting my new laptop configured.

I used my new laptop all day on Wednesday. I love it. It's much faster to open up applications.

I was exhausted on Tuesday. It was a long ten-hour day.

There's only two more workdays left before the weekend is here. I can't wait!

Y is for yay! Fifty Shades Darker is out on HD digital download #AtoZchallenge

On Tuesday, I got access to my digital download of Fifty Shades Darker, the movie, from Cineplex Store. I purchased a Superticket, which is essentially your movie ticket to watch it at the theatre and the digital download to watch it all you want, no matter where you are.

To say that I am pleased that I have the movie is quite the understatement! I have watched it twice already. It helps that I worked from home on Tuesday. I get to work from home again today. Yes, I love this movie so much that it never grows old. I love this one even more than Fifty Shades of Grey, which got me hooked on the movie series.

The unrated version of the movie is available for download on both the Play Store and iTunes. Last year, I downloaded it from the latter. I am going to hold off and get the DVD version. I want the physical DVD that also comes with some special goodies. Of course, there is never-seen footage. So, I can wait a bit longer to get my fix. After all, I need something to look forward to next month, right?

I have the movie at long last. I'm perfectly content playing it over and over. Yay!

T is for T-minus four days before the Fifty Shades Darker digital download #AtoZchallenge

I went to see Fifty Shades Darker three times at the theatre. You have the option of getting the digital HD download with your ticket. I went with it.

The good news is that the digital download is released earlier than the DVD. I get to download it on April 25. I can't wait!

Naturally, I will still be getting the DVD version, simply because I am a fan and would like to see what goodies accompany it.

I haven't started my countdown to Fifty Shades Freed. I am sure I will get excited about that when it's out next February.

Grammatical mistakes in Fifty Shades of Grey and ways to fix them

I downloaded Fifty Shades of Grey, the movie, a week ago. My guy did something sweet. He bought me the Blu-Ray version of the movie, just in case I wear the digital version out in some way or it gets corrupted.

It is good that I have decided to refrain from reading the trilogy. I have been advised by a number of folks that the grammatical errors would drive me insane.

I write for a living. These days, my role at work has changed to being a technical editor, reviewing work by my fellow writing peers. I would not enjoy reading any of the Fifty Shades books with so many grammatical issues.

I found this link on the top 9 grammatical mistakes in Fifty Shades of Grey. The article also proposes how to fix them.

Wordiness, which often leads to awkward sentences, annoys me. I also don't like comma splices. Sure, avoiding passive voice is important. However, you can't avoid using it sometimes.

I am glad that my guy didn't buy me the book set. It would be uncomfortable to tell him to return them. He would likely spank me for rejecting his gift, but I would enjoy that more than reading the books!

Fifty Shades of Grey movie download - not being able to sit for a week

I ordered Fifty Shades of Grey from iTunes on Friday night and happily downloaded the movie. I then stayed up till 02:30 on Saturday morning watching the flick.

I love the movie. One of these days, I will go into why I do. I continue to refuse reading the trilogy.

When Ana wakes up in Christian's hotel room, they talk. He tells her that getting drunk isn't a good idea. She agrees.
"If you were mine, you wouldn't be able to sit down for a week," Christian said, moments before he takes a bite of Ana's toast from her hand.
I love that line. My guy says something similar to me, except that I am his.

V is for video release for Fifty Shades of Grey

As you know from a previous post, I haven't read the Fifty Shade of Grey trilogy. I doubt that I ever will.

When I was in Montreal, I finally decided to see the movie at the theatre across from where I was staying. I loved it. I loved the movie so much that I want to see it again.

I recently received an e-certificate for a one-night stay at a hotel. It expires within the next six days. I decided to use it last Friday.

It's fun checking in to a hotel. I was away from home, so it was a nice staycation. I was much closer to my workplace, so getting there after work wasn't a huge journey. It had a kitchenette. I brought some food and made myself some dinner.

I powered on the television. Sure enough, Fifty Shades of Grey was one of the pay-per-view movies.

It was so tempting. Should I watch it?

Instead, I found out through iTunes that the movie will be released on May 1st. I will likely be the proud owner of that movie, so I can play the spanking scenes over and over again.
