At the car wash

On Monday, I got a free car wash and wax at a local car detailing shop. The place did a wonderful job. I haven't seen my car look that shiny and new since I first bought it.

I was highly impressed. I definitely will return. I like that the place is a ten-minute drive from where I live.

Sleepy

My weekend is going well, except that I was up till 4 am yesterday. I got up at around 9 am and lounged.

I am sleepy. I'm only up because I'm drying my hair, so I thought that I'd quickly say hi before I crash.

Good day with a crumbling memory

Monday was great. I vacuumed and washed my car. I also filled it up with gas.

I managed to pick up food from the two places that I had in mind in downtown Toronto I also visited my old neighbourhood.

I feel like my past is crumbling as the years go by. As I passed by the apartment building where I spent my first nineteen years of life, two men were destroying the concrete front steps. I am sure that they've been there for decades, well before I was alive.

I felt completely relaxed being a tourist in my hometown. I should do this excursion more often when I have a day off.

Masks

In Toronto, it is mandatory to wear a mask in indoor public areas, such as grocery stores. In my area, this bylaw takes in effect next Friday.

I have eased into wearing a mask, even when we didn't have a bylaw. I find that when I'm in a store that has one-way arrows on the floor to let you know in which direction you should be walking, most folks don't follow them. I'd rather have a mask on in such circumstances.

I own a total of four masks. Three have the same pattern. All four are cotton and have small flowers. I definitely stand out in a crowd. Everyone either has solid black cloth or the blue disposable ones.

For some reason, I can't see myself getting disposable ones. I am good washing my mask and reusing it after every use.

Sleeping, cuddling, kissing, and coming home

My guy called me after I had finished washing my car.
"Hey, are you ready for bed?" I asked him.
"I'm in bed right now," he replied.
"I miss cuddling up to you, kissing you, tucking you into bed, and sleeping with you," I noted.
"You're sweet. I miss all of that with you, too," he replied.
My guy hops on a plane today and is coming home. Yay!

Z is for zany

I have made it to this challenge's finish line! I don't know how to end it off, other than writing about something zany. Well, I think it's weird.

My guy has arrived in Dublin. He isn't too crazy about the place. He finds it old and the roads are too narrow for his car.

We are similar in that we worry about such details, but we we rely on each other for support and comfort. Otherwise, he is doing well.

We did a role reversal today. That alone is wacky.

In the past, I accidentally gave him the nickname of Cheap Bastard (CB), which he has embraced. He loves buying items at discounted rates and gets a high out of it.

These days, I call myself the CB protege. We had this conversation on Skype as I was driving home from work and my guy was getting ready to turn in for the night.
"It's starting to rain. I wanted to wash my car yesterday, but held off because it was to rain today and I want a free car wash," I admitted to my guy.
"I am so proud of you," my guy said to me. "You go to liquidation outlets, you buy a sweater for 50% off its sale price, and now you are saving on car washes," my guy said.
"See, I am a CB protege," I replied.
"Yes, you are. A certified one, too," he stated.
"The rain is really pouring down now. If I drive a bit faster, my car will be shiny," I joked.
"Maybe you can use dishwasher soap and put a dab on the hood," my guy said.
"Hey, that would work. But, the guy behind me would get annoyed clearing all the suds off his car," I noted.
We both laughed, especially about the part where I want to dye the soap suds pink.

Is it Friday yet? It should be at this rate!
