Workshop is over, laughter is here, and packing is nearly done

My workshop ended on Wednesday. I learned a lot and am inspired by the information that I got out of it.

I decided to check out the Just For Laughs comedy festival after dinner. It was a ton of fun. I got to see a hypnotist perform.

I have done most of my packing. I am leaving later on today, driving home in my rental car. It has been nice taking a break from driving for the last three days.

Being mushy after looking at a photo of me

The weekend is here! I am spending part of my weekend with a dear friend. We are going to the beer and food truck festival. It's always nice to catch up with her.

My guy misses me. The feeling is always mutual.

We had this conversation:

"I like your profile pic on LinkedIn," he said.
"Thanks. You should. You took it," I reminded him.
"Yes, that's true. The subject makes the photo," he said.
"You're oozing sweetness again," I commented.
"When I miss you, it comes out naturally," he admitted.
"I like when you're mushy," I noted.
"You're worth it," he said.

I like when he's in mushy mode.

I'm a winner!

Little things that brighten my day and even month balance out the craziness at work these days. They are definitely encouraged!

There was a contest over a week ago to win tickets to a craft beer and food truck festival. Why not enter it? It was hosted on Instagram, which required reposting the image, tagging a couple of places, and mentioning the festival.

The good news is that I won a pair of tickets! So, I am going to this festival with a dear friend of mine this weekend.

It's funny, but my friend saw my repost and asked whether we could get together that very day. She wasn't sure if I had completely planned to go, regardless of the contest.

Perhaps I am more optimistic than she is. She said that, "If you don't win, we can go someplace else."

When I won, I tagged her and said, "We're going to the festival!"

Most of the time, I won't put my heart into the whole winning thing. When you don't win, the disappointment hurts less that way. For some reason, I had a good feeling about winning these tickets. Luck was on my side.

Vegan food festival and jewellery based on the Fibonacci sequence

On Sunday, I drove to see my friend who lives about 1.5 hours to the east from where I live. For some reason, I thought that it would take me two hours.

I went to a vegan food festival. I had perogies that were delicious. I have a weakness for portobello mushrooms. They were amazing.

What blew me away was a vendor who makes and sells jewellery. She makes bracelets and necklaces based on the Fibonacci sequence. I was so blown away. Simply put, the first two beads are similar, but each bead in the sequence is separated by a silver jewel. The next number in the sequence is the sum of the first two. As a result, you get two more beads in addition to separating them by silver jewels, and so on. I loved it.

I told my guy about my jewellery discovery. We both were excited that someone did something creative with math.

We are so geeky. It's one of many reasons why we get along.

Over the weekend, Jamie Dornan was in Toronto, supporting his wife, Amelia Warner, at the Toronto International Film Festival. She wrote the score to the movie, Mary Shelley.

I'm excited that the third and final installment of the Fifty Shades movie trilogy will be out in February. I didn't ever expect to enjoy this movie series, but I do.
