Weekend and Immersive Van Gogh

The weekend is here. 

Later on today, I'm revisiting the Immersive Van Gogh experience. In early July, I did the drive-in version. I ended up getting free tickets to do the in-person experience once the place reopened. It has!

The downside was that the place never disclosed how to get these free tickets until I sent an e-mail. I had to wait a few days for a response. I finally got a code to use on their site to get my tickets. However, the code was invalid.

So, I had to send another e-mail with a screenshot showing that something was wrong with the code. Sure enough, it was some weird issue on their end. I used this code again after their fix and it worked. yay!

I'm looking forward to this outing in downtown Toronto.

Weekend, hotel, hockey, and travel

It has been a few days. I'm doing well. I have simply needed some down time to myself.

I am currently checked in at a hotel. I am taking a couple of days off next week for an extended weekend trip. It's snowing and windy. I'm heading to the Twin Cities tomorrow. It is my last trip for this hockey season. It's bittersweet.

I will likely get a pack of tickets for next season, simply because the winter classic game is happening in the Twin Cities. I'd like to attend and I get first dibs if I remain a season ticket holder. I also don't mind travelling back to the state that I once called home.

I left work early on a Friday. I rarely don't. However, my day started at 8 am. I left at 4:45 pm. It's still a bit late, but it's rare for me to get out of there before 5 pm. I felt great.

I'm a winner!

Little things that brighten my day and even month balance out the craziness at work these days. They are definitely encouraged!

There was a contest over a week ago to win tickets to a craft beer and food truck festival. Why not enter it? It was hosted on Instagram, which required reposting the image, tagging a couple of places, and mentioning the festival.

The good news is that I won a pair of tickets! So, I am going to this festival with a dear friend of mine this weekend.

It's funny, but my friend saw my repost and asked whether we could get together that very day. She wasn't sure if I had completely planned to go, regardless of the contest.

Perhaps I am more optimistic than she is. She said that, "If you don't win, we can go someplace else."

When I won, I tagged her and said, "We're going to the festival!"

Most of the time, I won't put my heart into the whole winning thing. When you don't win, the disappointment hurts less that way. For some reason, I had a good feeling about winning these tickets. Luck was on my side.
