Seeing myself in my friend's conversation

I have been sitting here, trying to figure out what I want to write. It's not that I haven't got a topic. On the contrary, there's a lot going on in my head that I really don't where to start.

Work is busy. I noticed the other day that my friend had to interact with our incompetent colleague. I could swap my friend out for me, and it's the same song and dance.

At one point, my friend said to her, "Don't twist my words." I have said something similar to her on multiple occasions. I apparently told her to do something when that never happened. She is delusional.

I look forward to the day when I do not have to interact with her. I don't enjoy talking to her. I don't like hearing her talk. Her thoughts are jumbled and incoherent. I don't even like to say goodnight to her when I leave work. It's that bad.

My friend spent some time venting to me on Monday. It's mutual that we vent and listen.

Weekend relief from an annoying colleague

Yay, the weekend is here! Although it was a short workweek for me, it seemed incredibly long.

I have a colleague who joined my team over two months ago. She is apparently supposed to be as experienced as I am, but comes across as being junior and not knowing what she is doing. It's to the point where my astute student has made the same observations and shared them with me.

She has an issue with punctuality. She is supposed to be at work by 9:45 am. She has been getting into work at around 10:30 am. On Friday, it was 11:00 am, as noted by my manager.

Both my manager and I have had a talk about it with her. I saw signs of improvement at first, but we are back to square one. She doesn't seem to be making a decent effort.

Anyway, enough about that issue and the fact that she came over five times to talk to me while I was quietly working with my student.  I am off to bed to enjoy sleeping in.

Happy weekend, everyone!

Groping and being observant of my weight loss

In the parking lot of the Chinese restaurant, my guy saw a car parked in the lot that looked just like mine. He told me that he headed over there and noticed that it didn't have an M&M's cap on the gear shift. Moments later, he saw my car and headed over.

After we unlocked from our tender kiss, we headed over to the restaurant. We waited to be seated. He quietly groped my left buttock again.
"That's my butt," I said to him.
"Yes. I love it," he admitted.
We sat down and looked at the menu. He looked over at me, as it has been a long time since we last saw each other.
"Have you lost weight?" he asked me.
"Yes, I have. My pants are looser than they were a couple of months ago," I admitted.
"It shows," he said.
"Can you still see me?" I joked.
"Yes, I can. You're cuter than ever," he said.
He's sweet. He is the only person who notices such subtle weight changes that I go through.

My guy was right about my nails

My guy is the first to admit that he noticed my nails when we first met. Although I would have thought that it would have been my face, he has always insisted that he looks at a woman's hands first.

He loves my hands, but the nails reeled him in. I remember being in the lunchroom and we were alone. He actually lifted my left pinky finger with his to look at how shiny my nail was.

He asked me when we were finally dating whether I would consider putting coloured polish on my nails. Back then, I had nail strengthener on, which was clear.

Since I have been training and supervising students at work, a number of them have thought that I go to a nail salon every week. I wouldn't be able to afford going 52 times a year. I have only been to a nail salon once so far in 2017.

Lately, I have had the administrator at work, as well as a female colleague, ask me about my nail routine. It's not complicated at all!
  1. Start with clean, natural nails.
  2. Apply a base coat, ensuring that your nail polish adheres nicely.
  3. Apply a thin first coat of nail polish. Let it dry. Polish dries faster when it's a thin coat.
  4. Apply a second thin coat of polish. Let it dry.
  5. Apply a top coat to seal everything. Let it dry.
That's it. The key is to find a nail polish colour that lasts.

I find that giving myself a manicure to be a nice way to de-stress. Same goes with a pedicure, but I tend to do the former more often.

When I am wearing sandals, my guy notices both the polish on my toenails and fingernails. He's observant. He does indeed love my nails.

Nail polish on toes and fingers

Sometimes, it amazes me how attentive my guy is. He notices details about me that I forget about myself.

The other day, we were walking over to his car. We were going out for lunch. We were walking and talking.

In the car, we were stopped at a red light.
"I like your nail polish. It's a pretty pink," he said, holding my left hand and observing.
"Thanks," I replied. "I found a new nail polish brand at the drugstore for $6."
"Nice," he replied. "The pink is different from the blue on your toenails," he noted.
"Wow, I'm impressed that you noticed," I remarked.
"I notice a lot about you, especially when I miss you," he said sweetly.
I rarely have the same polish colour on my fingernails and toenails. It never works out that way.

I love that he is so observant and attentive.

Hard nipple observations

My guy is observant when it comes to looking at my physical attributes. As an example, he can always tell when I have cut my hair or have trimmed my bangs.

He also notices when my nipples are hard. He doesn't have to touch them. He just looks and knows.

The other day, after we had hugged and we were heading our separate ways, he noticed that my right nipple was hard.
"It only happens when I am with you," I said to him, which made him smile.
"I know," he said, blowing me a kiss as he walked over to his car.
It's nice having an attentive, attractive guy.

Mondays are better with a sweet guy

We typically dread Monday morning. Its arrival signals the beginning of the workweek for most adults.

Today, I had a different outlook. It was the first day seeing my guy again.

The feeling was mutual. He sent a message on our internal instant messaging system, saying hi during his course break. He indicated that he'd break for lunch at 12:30 pm. I was good with that.

He pinged me at exactly 12:30 pm, asking whether I was ready to go. I was. We met downstairs in the lobby.

My face lit up in a smile as soon as I saw him. He reciprocated. He noticed my blue jacket on and liked it. It is one of the best, cheap purchases I have ever made at Walmart. My guy and I were both impressed at how good it looked.

I threatened to drive his new manual car as we walked towards it in the parking lot. It's fun teasing him. His car looks nice. It was my first time in his car, moulding my butt in the passenger-side seat next to my guy. Yes, he worded the moulding-my-butt comment when we last spoke.

His car drives smoothly. My guy had his hand on his car's stick shift. He strategically placed his right hand on my left thigh. That was nice. We held hands for a bit on his car's stick shift, with mine on top of his.
"I hope you don't confuse the car's stick shift with your own," I teased.
"The question is whether you will get them confused," my guy grinned.
"Let me see," I remarked, running my hand down the car's stick shift. "Hard to tell. Get it?"
He liked my pun, as corny as it was. We continued to enjoy each other's company as he drove us to our usual hangout for lunch.

Mondays are better when you get to spend it with your loved one.

L is for little things

I was pretty bummed out on Monday. It generally is the case when it's that time of the month. I then got an e-mail from my guy, saying that he had to cancel having lunch with me that day and possibly for the entire week.

To add to that piece of news, I asked him whether he would be free after work. He said that he would call me. He never did. Apparently, he came looking for me at 18:30. My day started at 08:30. I worked overtime and left just after 18:00. I didn't even bother responding to him.

My guy can tell when I am upset with him. I normally tend to contact him back pretty quickly. I didn't bother on Monday. He knew that he had to patch things up.

On Wednesday, I was expecting to not have lunch with him. I drove into work and got there by 12:30. Wednesdays are long days for me. My workday starts at 07:30 with a conference call that I take at home.

I parked my car at the office and noticed a text from my guy. He wanted to do lunch. I said that I would swing by the training room. He seemed pleasantly shocked to see me. He has never seen me at work that early on a Wednesday. We headed to his car and we drove to our usual restaurant hangout.

We both tried a new dish. It was spicy garlic chicken. It was yummy.

We were talking about my upcoming vacation. I will be away for my birthday. He remembered the exact date from memory. I was impressed. He told me that he could never forget such a special day. It's the little things that he says and does that impress me the most.

After lunch, we headed back to his car. He told me that he got Lexus rims on his car, even though he does not drive a Lexus. I had to walk around his car to look at them. They were nice.

As I was heading back to the passenger side, he noticed my bright red toenails and said so. I was impressed. He went on to say that I normally don't paint my nails such a bold colour. He is right. I tend to go with softer colours, or darker ones, such as midnight blue and purple.

He notices little things about me. I love how attentive he is. It's nice to be with an observant guy.
