Shift in supervision, but this change still feels the same

As I had mentioned late last week, my intern is still with our team. His work term has been extended for another four hours. It's wonderful news. The bad news is that I'm no longer directly supervising him.

This year, my duties have shifted. It has taken at least two full-time colleagues to take over roughly 75% of what I used to do. My manager won't admit that I have tackled more than a full workload for years. We both know that's the case.

I saw how worried he was last week. I was in a meeting with these two colleagues and our manager. I used to be in charge of making sure that we got all our deliverables done for each major software release. We have this release in early June. When I did it all, my manager rarely worried. He knew that he could rely on me.

Since he has handed my former tasks to these two colleagues, he is in panic mode. He turned our checklist into a release plan. Ugh!

Well, he decided to have one of these colleagues supervise my intern. So, how many people does it take to replace 75% of what I used to do? Three people so far.

My intern (I'll still call him my intern, even though I don't mean it in the sense of ownership) is capable of pitching in and probably doing a decent job relieving at least one of them.

On Monday, it felt weird. I am now a team of one. Me. However, I ended up assigning my intern work because he had started it last week.

He does miss working with me and the feeling is mutual. We continued to chat through e-mails throughout the day like we usually do. He actually doesn't mind my assigning him work, as his new supervisor hasn't assigned him a thing. I simply have to let his team lead and our manager know.

Right now, he has little to work on. He appreciates that I can assign him work that keeps him occupied and allows him to think critically.

We also talked about storage and organization. We recently found out that we both enjoy chatting about these topics. We have built a good relationship. It's nice.

Wake-up call for a last-minute brunch date

I slept in on Saturday morning. I was waking up at my own pace, catching up on reading e-mails on my phone.

I have a Pebble watch. I bought it because the pedometer is accurate and I ended up ditching my Fitbit One. It took getting used to wearing a watch, but I'm good with it now. It also allows me to answer my cell phone.

My phone rang. It was my guy.
"Hey," I said to him.
"Hey, how are you?" he asked me.
"Good. I woke up about half an hour ago," I replied.
"Nice," he replied. "I have been up since 07:00."
"Wow, it's a complete role reversal between us," I remarked.
"Yes," he acknowledged. "I was wondering whether you'd like to do lunch. I am in-between test-driving cars."
My guy has a habit of asking me to go out for last-minute dates here and there. He was a bit worried that I would say no, as he knows that I like to plan what I do on weekends.

My original plan was to go to the One of a Kind Show, which is a great show to go to when you are figuring out what gifts to give for Christmas or other occasions. I did a fine job getting gifts last year. I don't have a need to do it again this year because I have nothing to buy. Instead, I decided to run my usual errands.
"Sure," I said. "Where are you?"
"I'm in downtown Toronto," he replied. "I can take the Gardiner and meet you around Highway 427."
Dead silence on my end. My guy realized what he had said.
"You're east, right?" he asked.
"Yes. The 427 is west, closer to work, sweetie," I replied.
"You know that I am directionally challenged. How about the 404?" he replied.
"Yes," I said, trying not to giggle.
"East, west, north, south. I can meet you south, but I'd be in Lake Ontario," he joked.
"That would not be good," I remarked.
It was nice to have an eating date with my guy. It was lunch for him, but breakfast for me.

Role reversal and lunch

I drove back home from Montreal a few hours ago. I was there to train a few employees. They told me that it was helpful and good. Learning how to use a new tool isn't as daunting anymore to them, which is wonderful.

My guy sent me an instant message out of the blue while I was on my lunch break on Tuesday.
MG: Hey, are you in Montreal?
Me: Hey! Oui, je suis a Montreal. I can't find the accents!
MG: =) How's training?
Me: So far, so good. We are breaking for lunch now. How are you?
MG: I'm in the office all this week and next for training.
Me: =( for this week, except Friday. =) for next week," I wrote back.
MG: =)
Me: Can I see you on Friday?
MG: Yes
Me: Yay!
We thought that it would be a while before we'd see each other at work. Funny how our roles ended up being reversed a bit. I am normally the one at the office and he is travelling.

Anyway, after I crazy week working at another office location and doing additional work after hours, we get to have lunch together on Friday. Yay!

E-mail exchanges, parking lot meetings, and a spanking to come

My guy has written a number of e-mails to me this week. Normally, I am the one who tends to initiate them. It has been quite the role reversal this week.

The day after our backseat session in his car, he wrote me an e-mail. It was unexpected, but sweet:
Hey there sweet girl,
How are you doing? Just wanted to say thank you for yesterday. It was very special.
I wrote back to him:
Hey, playful badge-pulling guy!
Yesterday was nice. Sitting is a constant reminder for me. It's all good. Thank you, too.
My guy is boyish. The other day, he tugged on my retractable work badge a few times. He then looked at my photo and said that it was a nice picture of me.

My guy likes spanking me. It's nice. I don't have to say anything. He will normally whisper in my ear that I have been bad or just ask whether I have been a good girl. If not, he will go ahead and lightly smack my backside to indicate that he wants to give me a spanking.

The wonderful part about the other day was my going over his lap. It is probably one of my favourite spanking positions. I feel close to my spanker. I get extremely excited and wet. I can feel his penis become more erect as he spanks me. I love it when my panties come down and all you hear is the sound of my bare buttocks getting smacked repeatedly. I love the thought of having a sore, red bottom afterwards and being sore for at least a day.

The neat part of our relationship these days is that we think about each other a lot. We think about the same things a lot. Tonight, we had another brief e-mail exchange. He kicked it off by asking whether I would be in the office tomorrow. He wasn't there today, but I had come in for a few hours. I have been to work three times this week. He has only been to the office once.

I wrote back to him:
If you'd like a parking lot meeting, we can do it at 2 pm tomorrow and I can avoid going into the office. Otherwise, if you have another suggestion, just let me know and we'll take it from there.
My guy responded, "Actually, a 2:30 pm parking lot meeting sounds good."

I am liking these meetings. They prevent me from working too hard at home. They are a lot of fun with someone you care deeply about and a nice way to kick off the weekend with sore backside.
