Fitness reward, incompetence at work, and sushi

I am a part of a corporate fitness program. There is a fitness challenge every quarter. I achieved my challenge for this quarter, which consists of getting $75 towards anything at the online store.

I typically get an electronic gift card. It gets sent to my work e-mail. I had to log in to my work account to fetch the code and use my gift card.

The problem is that I ended up glancing at e-mails from work and I didn't want to. I noticed that one developer decided that since I was away for two days, he had to forward the work to my colleague.

First, his update isn't urgent. It was already assigned to me and I needed more details from him. Second, he sent the update to the wrong person who isn't my backup. She's the incompetent one that decided to forward a question to this developer's boss and take on this task. She didn't tell him that she isn't my backup.

I'll need to sort these issues out when I return. I have already told this developer in the past that this incompetent person isn't my backup. Some folks don't know better.

Anyway, today is Family Day. I hope to go out and pick up some sushi. I just looked at some photos and everything looks good. I shouldn't look at food before I go to bed. I need a snack now!

August, hockey, and birthday reward

It's August. It's weird watching hockey on TV in the middle of summer. I'm not complaining. I have missed it and I'm glad that it's back, with safety measures in place.

I ran a bunch of errands on Saturday. I had to hit a store at a mall to use my birthday reward. It would have expired today.

The woman cashing me out wished me a happy birthday twice. It reminded me that I need to give myself a self-spanking.

I was exhausted after my errands and being out in the sun. I'll strive for later on today. My right knee is fine, so I am all set.

Travel, caffeine pills, and savings

My guy has left for India for business. Although I always miss him when we are apart, it doesn't feel as bad this time. It's likely because we spent a decent amount of time a couple of weeks ago that we are good for the time being.

He has recently stopped drinking coffee. The problem is that he isn't a morning person and needs something to wake him up.
"Let's go to to the drugstore to get me some caffeine pills for my trip," he said to me.
"Sure," I said. "I have a rewards card if we go to Walgreens," I said.
"Sounds good. Let's go there," he said.
I am the one who is the researcher. I found the local Walgreens in Dallas on my maps phone app and he drove us over there.

Sure enough, caffeine pills were on sale with the rewards card. It was several hours after I had landed and did not have a chance to pull out the physical plastic reward card from my wallet in my computer bag. Instead, I had loaded it on my Google Pay app. It scanned nicely at the store and my guy got a decent discount.
"I'm so happy. I bought one bottle and got one free with your rewards card," he said gleefully.
"I love when you're happy about saving money. You are my Cheap Bastard," I noted.
"Yes, CB is happy to have you with me in many ways," he said.
He's sweet. We both love saving money. It's helpful and feels good.

My reward for my help? A spanking... yay!

The other day, my guy needed my help. It was a work-related software issue. He needed me to download two software builds for him.

We used to be in the same department, which was software development. Since our company was acquired a while back, we are no longer in the same department. I am still considered to be a part of software development, but he isn't. As a result, he no longer has access to all our nightly software builds. He has to asked me nicely to access whatever builds that he needs.

He tried texting me on Wednesday, but I wasn't near my phone. Instead, I received an e-mail from him. Here is an excerpt:
I still can't get to the \builds folder. By the way, would it be possible to copy the latest builds to your Dropbox and send me the link without considering that as slave-driving?? That would really be helpful. I'll give you your reward when I see you (be prepared to have difficulty sitting for a couple of days afterwards.  ;)
I love his love notes. Here's an excerpt from my reply:
Copying huge build files to Dropbox was an issue at work. Our network does not like Dropbox. I ended up copying both builds to my laptop and have been uploading them to Dropbox at home.
This folder, MrMeanie, contains both builds.
You owe me bigtime. I deserve flowers, dinner, and a really good spanking, at least. =)
My reward will be on Friday. He will also get some reward in return, of course.
