New week with more training

Weekends certainly fly by. I'm back training my new colleague. It's week two.

She's not a technical person, but I do appreciate that she's hard-working and determined.

Here's hoping that this week will pass by as fast as this past weekend.

Update from my friend with cancer

On Saturday, I received an update from my friend who is battling leukemia. She has finished her treatments at a clinic in Houston. It's a clinical trial.

She is now staying at an Airbnb. She is a high risk to travel during this pandemic, as she has had a liver transplant. As a result, she's not flying home and will likely continue her stay in Houston for a bit.

I hope that her treatments are effective. She has to do a biopsy next to find out. I hope that there is good news.

Weekend and changes in the works at work

The weekend is here. I am thrilled and exhausted from work.

I had a good talk with my manager. He wants to take the incompetent woman off my team and get another colleague to help me out. I hope that it works out. I can't take working with this incompetent woman these days and picking up the slack. She's simply an idiot.

I'm off to bed. Enjoy your weekend!

Great weekend and job application

I've had a great weekend. On Sunday, I hung out with three friends over dinner. It was great catching up with everyone. I rarely go out on Sundays.

I worked on my resume and applied for a part-time teaching job. Here's hoping that I am considered.

The weekend is over. Bummer.

Donating shoes and clothes to folks who need them more

At work, there is a drive to donate gently used shoes for those who are in need of them. I learned about this drive late last week and was hoping that it would stick around. It did.

I found a pair of sneakers that I have never worn. Rather than having them sit at home, taking up space, I donated them.

I felt good placing my shoes in the bin, hoping that someone will put them to good use. It was an uplifting feeling of doing something good.

I need to donate more. I went through this phase several years ago with clothes. It's probably time to do it again.

Vacation and spanking plans

My guy and I are thinking about going on a trip together. Well, for him, he would be working during the day and I would be joining him for a week. He likes when I accompany him, as being on the road gets lonely for him. As for me, I get to go on vacation and see him after work.

The tentative vacation week is at the end of March. We would be celebrating his birthday together, which is a bonus. The catch is making sure that this trip is confirmed. We are both hoping that it goes through.

It simply means that we'd spend more time together, that we might be spending more time after work at the hotel, and that I would have a sore backside for a whole week.

It sounds like the perfect business trip for him and vacation for me. I need to cross my fingers and hope that everything works out accordingly.
