One year later, being on my own, and being okay at home for months

Yesterday was exactly a year when my ex called it quits with me. I was aware of this date towards the end of a long workday.

During our text chat in April, he didn't once ask me how I was doing. Rather, he said that he missed me and wanted everything we once had, minus travelling together. It was odd. It was all he wanted. So typical.

I am better off being on my own right now. I don't have any inclination to meet someone special, especially when we are all self-isolating at home.

My manager asked our team whether we wanted to go back to the office during the first phase of this so-called plan. I let him know that I need to know what safety precautions will be in place at our office before I can make an informative decision on whether I want to return. It seemed to be a premature question, especially when we are all working from home till mid-June right now. This date continues to get extended.

I don't mind working from and being at home. I'm a homebody who likes to see the world now and again. Going out a couple of times a week is a good balance.

Purple nail polish and lust on my guy's part

On Monday, my guy looked at my left hand and reached out to hold it in his. He loves looking at my nails.
"I love the purple nail polish that you have on. Your nails always look perfect to me," he said.
"Thanks, sweetie," I replied, accepting his compliment.
On Friday, as I was driving home from work, he called me. He is doing well in Cairo, but misses me. The feeling is definitely mutual.
"I keep thinking about your freshly manicured nails," he admitted.
"You're being sweet," I replied.
"I really like that colour. I wish that your hands with your nice manicure would give me a handjob," he noted.
"When you're back home in two weeks, I'd be happy to give you one and more," I replied.
He was happy. I was, too.

Being together and learning about a spreader bar

My guy and I always have good chats over Skype when we are apart. Somehow, our conversation got a bit serious for a bit the other day.
"It has been over five years that we have been together," he said to me.
"Yes. It doesn't feel like it, though," I replied.
"I agree."
It doesn't. It's probably because we see our relationship constantly strengthening and growing. Things are still fresh and exciting after all these years.

Then, there's the spreader bar that intrigued me from Fifty Shades Darker. It did the same thing for him, too.

Again, our relationship continues to be fun the more we learn about things together.
