Purchasing a jacket that I thought I didn't need, but actually do

The other night, I realized that I had some GAPcash left. It means that if I spend $50 at either a regular GAP store or its outlet, I can get $20 off. That's not bad at all.

My problem? As much as I love this store, I don't exactly need anything. Well, that's what I thought.

I drove over there after work on Monday. There was a lightweight puffy jacket that was 50% off. I actually needed one. I have had mine for five years and it was falling apart. Some of the stuffing (yes, the fluff inside the jacket) was coming out of the sleeves and sides. I didn't get rid of it last year because it is perfect for me. I got a replacement jacket and it is too warm when it's not nippy outside. It works better when it's the middle of winter and it's truly cold.

Anyway, I tried this jacket on and I liked it. I got it. I'm so happy.

I had another GAPcash coupon left. I knew that I wasn't going to use it, as it was the last day that it was valid. Instead, I gave it to an older female shopper who asked how much a coat was. The cashier who had helped me out said that it was $55. She could get it for $35 with the coupon.

It's nice to pay it forward and make someone's day.

Vacation is over, but it has put things into perspective

My vacation is officially over. It was great and much needed.

I am fortunate to be working from home today and tomorrow. I am truly in no mood to go into work just to read countless e-mails.

I completely unplugged during my vacation. In the past, I used to check my work e-mails periodically. I decided not to. I didn't have any desire to read them, considering how hard I work.

Vacations always put things into perspective for me. I have decided not to log on to my work's instant messaging app on my phone, even when I am at work. Down the road, I may even consider uninstalling it.

I also have some more thoughts about my ex-guy. On the whole, my thoughts are clear. It's the mixed emotions that I go through periodically.

In the meantime, I am continuing to explore self-spanking. I like the wooden paddle that I recently got. I haven't used it just yet, but I did take it out of its packaging and like picturing how hard I can paddle my bare backside.

Work term, virtual reality, and sleep

It has been a great and memorable few days. My students have officially ended their work term. More on all that later. I am still soaking up everything.

The other night, I went to a virtual reality arcade. It was so much fun! I played Fruit Ninja VR and am hooked!

I'll write more when I'm not sleepy. Enjoy your weekend!
