The network is down - a perfect storm

It all started on Friday. Our content management system to author content was down just before lunch. We got database errors. My department seems paralyzed when such incidents take place. I got one of my students to report the problem.

Unfortunately, our helpdesk support is halfway around the world and doesn't look at off-hour issues. Ugh!

On the weekend, I had to do some preparation work. My team needed to create two documentation projects and requires all folks to not be working. I planned on doing this work on Saturday. Sure enough, I tried doing some copying work and database errors took place.

There errors were intermittent, though. I logged in using my regular account and I got tons of errors. I tried copying smaller sections with another administrative account and that worked. Weird.

Yesterday, I had my regularly scheduled 8 am meeting. I drive to work on the call. This meeting was delayed by half an hour. I called in about fifteen minutes from work. I couldn't connect to the network.

I walked into a meeting room that I had booked for my little team. My students told me that every network connection was down. It now made sense why I couldn't connect to my conference call.

I walked over to the lunch room to get some hot water for my tea. I found out that there was a Canada-wide outage. Nice.

I headed back to my students to relay the news. I found out later that it was a global problem.

E-mail was down. I loved it. I didn't have any distractions. I didn't have to respond immediately to my manager's questions due to his incompetence.

Slowly, the network came back up. My team was able to log in to most of our applications and continue with our content projects. Others on my team weren't that lucky.

It was a trying day. My team handled it with grace and humour. We are good with teamwork, fuelled by cookies.

If jokes are neither clever, nor funny, I get spanked

One of many things that my guy and I have in common is a sense of humour. My guy is better at puns than I am, although he would say that I'm too hard on myself.

He cracked a bad pun the other day. It's not unusual.
"That pun was clever, but horrible," I pointed out, laughing.
"I'm glad that you laughed. Normally, I need to tickle you," he noted.
Sometime, he playfully makes me admit that his jokes or puns are clever and funny. If I don't, he'll playfully tickle or spank me. It's fun for both of us.

Enough said and paddles

On Sunday, I went to see Enough Said at the local movie theatre. I felt like watching a romantic flick with humour. I am glad that I did.

I saw so many similarities in the dialogue between Eva (played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and Albert (played by the late James Gandolfini), and many conversations that my guy and I have.

I will be paraphrasing a bit, but Eva and Albert were talking.
Eva: Do you like fake boobs?
Albert: Nope, I don't. I like real boobs.
Eva: I have real boobs.
Albert: There isn't an issue then.
I am not saying that I have asked my guy whether he likes fake boobs, but my guy has always said how he loves mine. He states that they are perfect because they are real. He likes how hard my nipples get and enjoys sucking on them.

There was another intriguing discussion between the two main characters.
Albert: I love your hands (holding Eva's hands).
Eva: Thanks. I love your hands, too. They look like paddles.
They have another conversation a bit later. They are in Albert's car and he is dropping her off at her home after their first date.
Eva: I love your paddles (looking at Albert's hands).
Albert: I love your ass.
My guy often tells me that I have pretty hands. Late last week, he held my right hand and kissed it several times before I initiated a kiss on his lips.

I like the thought about hands being paddles. I have always found hand spankings to be more personal than using a paddle. I like both types of spankings. It would have been nice if there was a playful spanking scene, but just hinting at this possibility and planting this image in my mind made me excited.

Perhaps I need to drag my guy to see the flick when he is back in town. He likes romantic movies. He is a romantic guy. It just takes patience to see that side of him come out.

Friday: the beginning and end

I am behind (no pun intended) in my blog posts this week. I do have the urge to write a few things down at this hour.

Before I left for lunch, I asked my guy online if it was okay for me to crash his meeting this afternoon. He said that there was a spot for me in the training room.

Well, I got to the room and it was practically a full house. My guy introduced me as the writer, joking that any complaints about our documentation should go to me.

You can tell that my guy and I have chemistry, as we feed off each other when it comes to humour. I indicated that didn't like the sounds of that statement and threatened to leave the room. Everyone laughed at our banter.

It was a fun, informative session. We basically were like a comedic team. I even got to shake the hands of several new employees there.

We both had a meeting at 16:30. We left the training room and headed to the elevators. We had an entire elevator to ourselves.

It has been ages since we have been in this scenario. We kissed passionately. I enjoyed caressing my guy's head in my hand. My guy was caressing my right breast.

We got to our meeting. We sat facing each other. At one point, my guy sneaked in a wink, which was cute. He did motion as I was about to leave work that he wanted treehouse time. I was game. He winked at me again.

A future post will talk about our treehouse experience. At the end of our time together, we had this conversation while my guy was groping my left buttock.
"I need to punish you more," he said. "We have been so focused on other things that I have not been punishing you as often as I should."
"That's because I have been good," I said in a matter-of-fact way.
"Noooo!" he objected. "You are always bad."
"That's not true," I said in a girlie tone.
"Next week, I will spank you hard. But, you'll be wearing pants and not a skirt like today."
"But, I want to wear a skirt. We're in a heatwave and you have easier access to my backside. That's what you have taught me," I reasoned with him.
"When I see your legs, I get horny," he admitted.
"There's nothing wrong with that," I teased. "You can spank me for disobeying your clothing request."
He liked that. I politely asked him to stop talking about spanking me. I admitted to him that I was getting turned on, but was perfectly content after having our quality time. Our next meeting is on Monday.
