Backstory behind our change of treehouse plans

On Tuesday, my guy called me from a taxi.
"Hey, are you there?" he asked me, referring to the parking lot at work.
"I'm close. I decided not to wait there. My manager's motorcycle is still parked there," I remarked.
"Doesn't he ever leave work?" he asked me.
"Apparently not," I replied. "Is it okay if we move to a different area once I'm there?" I asked him.
"Of course," he said, noting how uncomfortable it would be for both of us.
"Yay!" I replied, which made him chuckle.
The last thing I want to do is have my manager see my guy and I making out in a car at work.

Five minutes later, my guy's taxi had arrived. He paid, got his belongings, and headed over to his car. I did, too.
"Hey, sweetie," I said to him.
"Hey," he replied, peering in as I pulled up next to his parked car.
"Are you hungry?" he asked me.
"I am," I replied, noting that I hadn't had dinner yet.
"Me, too. Let's go have dinner at our usual place," he said.
"Sounds good," I replied.
It's nice that treehouse time ended up being a dinner date.

Catching up with an friend and having a secret admirer

I grew up in the Beaches area of Toronto. A high school friend of mine is in town and asked whether we could meet. It was nice that it didn't take much effort to figure out where to go and at what time we'd meet.

We chose a restaurant-pub that was a block away from where I had attended elementary school. We spent nearly four hours together catching up.

I haven't seen her since my last year from high school. She came to the school to visit and we chatted.

She told me that I look the same. She also noticed that I have a good memory and that I am naturally musical.

It's nice that, after all these years, it was effortless chatting and catching up with her.

I told my guy earlier on Tuesday that I'd be seeing her.
"I'd like to visit where you grew up," he told me.
"Sure, I can show you where everything is when you're back," I replied.
"That would be nice."
My guy is still feeling the effects of jet lag. Although he was sleepy, he sent me an e-card for Valentine's Day. He is sweet that way. Ever since we have been a couple, he sends me e-cards like clock work. This one had a penguin. He knows that I love penguins.
"I like how you addressed the card by secret admirer," I commented. "It took me a while to figure out who that was until I saw your e-mail address."
He chuckled.

Year of the cock

My guy is on the road again. I won't see him for a while. He is in Brussels this week.

We got to chat here and there this weekend, which helps.
"Happy Chinese New Year!" he said to me the other day.
"Thanks," I replied.
"It's the year of the rooster," he said to me proudly.
"It's also known as the year of the cock. It's the year of your member," I replied.
Pure silence happened for about three seconds. He then chuckled.

I'm glad that I can make him laugh, no matter how crazy things are on his end with last-minute travel.
