Rolling out of bed

The night before flying out to Dallas, I checked myself into a hotel by my workplace. I needed to get to the airport early. I used my points, so it was a free stay.

I had set my alarm for 05:30. I had a room with two queen beds. It was a cozy room.

At said time, I woke up. What I didn't realize was that I was sleeping on the edge of the bed and my comforter was three-quarters draped over the left side of the bed. It's a clear indication that I was tired and the room was likely warmer than I was used to.

I went to stop the alarm going off on my phone. For the first time in my life, I rolled out of bed and onto the floor. The comforter was on the floor, which meant that I had a soft landing.

Of course, being barely awake, it took me some time to figure out that I was between two beds. I had to think about how to get up all twisted around a comforter.

I told my guy this story when we were sitting on the couch in our room in Dallass. We both laughed.
"Did you make a thump?" he asked.
"I thought that I would, but I landed on the comforter. It was a quiet landing. I never thought in my life that I'd literally roll out of bed in my life," I said.
There's a first for everything.

A rarity - at work on a Wednesday, eating sandwiches on a different floor

I normally work from home on Wednesdays. Yesterday, I did for half the day. I had meetings from 08:00 till 11:00.

I then hauled my luggage and laptop into my car, and ran a couple of errands. I had to get some gourmet goodies from my friends.

I decided to drive into work and spend the afternoon wrapping up some tasks. Instead of sitting on my regular floor, at my regular desk, I went to a completely different floor of our building and worked in a quiet little room.

Each floor has a lunchroom. I went to fill up my mug with hot water for my tea. I saw a tray of sandwiches. At first, I felt weird about getting some, as it's not my regular team of folks that I work with. I had to use the women's room, so I left my tea in the room and then came back.

A sweet woman whom I don't see often said hi to me. She was in charge of said catered sandwiches. She was covering up the sandwiches, as she didn't want the bread to get hard. I helped her with that task. She insisted that I grab some sandwiches. Cool!

Things just work out, I suppose.

Floor letters in an elevator

Sometimes, the conversations that my guy and I have can be amusing.
"You are such a bad girl," my guy tells me after I have teased him.
"But, I'm a good girl," I said in protest.
"No, you are never a good girl," he tells me, as we both walk towards the elevator.
"Yes, the elevator has the letter G, which stands for good," I reply.
"That's not what it stands for. It also has the letter B, which stands for bad. Using your lettering, put B and G together and we have you, a bad girl," he insists.
"You're being Mr Meanie again," I reply.
"There should be a letter C as a floor. You're cute."
He's sweet.
