Eye update and relaxes after decluttering

On Friday, I visited my ophthalmologist. I haven't seen him for five months, which is a good sign.

I called earlier in the week to find out whether my appointment was still on. In a pandemic, sitting in a waiting room to get an injection in my eye is not the ideal situation. The woman at the clinic speaking to me over the phone indicated that safety precautions were top priority.

I asked about seating in the waiting room. Each row has four seats. I told her that I didn't feel comfortable if someone sat next to me. She said that they have measures to space people out. She also said that only patients who needed injections or were emergencies were being accepted. I felt better and went with it.

I was asked to wear a mask when I dropped by the clinic. I let her know that I didn't have one (I have since ordered one, which came in the mail after my appointment), and used a scarf instead. It worked well.

Sure enough, staff were great making sure that everything was sanitized. My regular diagnostic tests were streamlined down to my right eye, which had the issue.

My ophthalmologist was in good spirits. He said that he'd evaluate my eye in another five months and will likely stop injections. So, it is possible that last Friday was my last injection, which I am grateful.

I am fortunate that my blood vessel burst hasn't recurred. I bounced back nicely and my eyesight is practically back to what is used to be.

Switching gears a bit, I have been reorganizing my bedroom and decluttering. It's therapeutic. I feel relaxed and accomplished.

  1. Yes, that's difficult. I feel for you. I had to go in to the dentist this week for an emergency appointment, and I was very worried about picking up something. Fortunately, I did have a mask to wear, and I cleaned things thoroughly after leaving the office. They spaced out appointments so no two patients had to wait when they got there.

I hope you don't have to go back after the next time, for multiple reasons.

    1. I hope that all is well after your dentist appointment. It is a scary time to go into a medical clinic. I laundered all my clothing once I got home, including the scarf that I had wrapped around my face.

Here's hoping that we don't have to go back anytime soon.

    2. I second that. I had some soreness in my mouth, but it's mostly gone away. There are fun pains and not fun pains. Dental pain, not fun.

    3. I'm happy to hear that the soreness has practically disappeared. Dental pain is never fun. I have been fortunate to be okay in the dental department.

    1. They are. I realized that when my right eye wasn't quite right and my central vision was incredibly skewed. I'm so glad that I have my vision back with the help of injections and catching the issue early.

  3. All the health-related clinics here have been on "need-to-go" only visit. Those deemed not urgent have been postponed, and the ones who do go for their visit have lots and lots of distancing, disinfecting protocol, etc in place.

    1. The situation is similar here. I wasn't sure with my eye injection appointment, so I'm glad that I checked. Injections were on, but it was up to me to decide. After hearing about their sanitation methods, physical distancing, and more, I felt at ease and went in. I had a good experience under the circumstances.
