My post on Chross's site, voting early, and photos

It is always a pleasant surprise when one of my posts ends up on Chross's Spankings of the Week page. This time makes it number four! My post-analysis of how sore my backside was after my last spanking made it and I am truly flattered!

On Saturday, I voted early for the municipal elections. I tend to vote early because voting day always lands on a weekday and I don't like rushing over to the polling station after work, lining up, and trying to figure out who I want to vote for.

I have worked at all three levels of governmental elections in my life. By far, the municipal elections are the most enjoyable to be a part of. In my city, the results are automatically tabulated by computer. You  can even vote online. I like lining up and having a ballot to make my candidate selections.

Next month, I am travelling to Turkey. My passport expires in April, so I need to renew it. It helps to have a passport that is valid for at least six months. I got my passport photo taken today at Costco. I look so different now than I did 4.5 years ago. I definitely like how I look now.

Then, I looked at my photo on my Costco membership card, which was taken thirteen years ago. It is not a flattering picture of me. I looked like a convict and my membership level wasn't quite right, either. As a result, I got that photo retaken.

It was a productive day. Too bad the passport office isn't open on the weekend. Otherwise, I would have submitted my application by now!

  1. Nearly finished my comment and it disappeared. I hate that! What did I say? oh yes, that I have never been to this website before and will check it out. All this exposure all the sudden on your blog, girl! congratulations.
About voting, I always vote early, and have never skipped once. I'm not sure if all those politicians deserve my vote, but people in other counties are dying to get the right to vote, it is nothing to take for granted.
I'm so glad you feel like another person than you did a few years ago. If you feel at peace with yourself, you know deep inside, you will look pretty from the outside.
Hmm, I hear myself, but I really mean it, the wrapping is just for a picture on a pasport. Not important.
Well, promise to be careful in Turkey, the world really is a mess.
    Congratulations again,

    Han

    1. I have had the same thing happen to me, Han. I will be leaving a comment and then it disappears. I then have to remember what I have entered. These days, I try and copy the comment to memory, just in case. But, I forget now and again!

Thanks! It's nice to have a blog post recognized now and again, just like you did with reviewing my blog. =)

That's great that you have never missed voting. I have missed voting provincially once, but it was because I had moved and wasn't eligible to in my new province. I also couldn't vote when I moved to the United States because I wasn't and am not an American citizen. In a way, I am glad that I couldn't. It was the year when they were debating whether Gore or George W. Bush had one, with the controversy over chads on paper ballots. Ugh!

As for how I look, I have an interesting battle there. I am proud that I have lost 60 pounds and have kept it off for a couple of years now. I still have difficulties coping with it when I look in the mirror, as weird as that sounds. One day, I will elaborate on it. It's not that I am ashamed. It's an adjustment that I need to work on. I do like who I am, so it could sound like I have low self-esteem, but I don't think that I do.

I'll try and be careful when I'm in Turkey. I will be in Istanbul, so I will be farther away from the Syrian border.

  2. I have worked on polling day in most of the state and federal elections for the past 20 plus years and agree that it is one of the most fun days

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Downunder Don! It is exciting to work on polling day, but it's also a lot of work, especially at the end with everyone coming in to vote after work. I still have fond memories of working them and may try my hand again down the road.
