It was a week before my undergraduate convocation. That month of June was crazy. I got married, graduated, and moved to a different province.
If I could do things differently, I would have taken my time getting married. I knew him for nearly three years at this point. I needed to know him better. It was a long-distance relationship, so I didn't pick up on some of his quirks that were red flags.
I suppose that's what happens when you are young and in love. You overlook red flags. You then spend time trying to muster the strength and finances to get out of the relationship.
I look back and I've learned a lot from my marriage. No regrets.
I guess it's a date that holds some mixed emotions for you. It's good that you can look back on it positively and acknowledge that you've come out wiser the other side!
ReplyDeleteFor sure. I'll definitely have a bunch of emotions when I think about this date.
DeleteI found out that a couple that I know got married on June 5. They just celebrated five years. They are a sweet couple, which makes this date special now.
