Picking up my guy and hearing a threat against my bottom - part 1

Sunday had arrived. My guy was teaching a course for a full six hours, in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Let's just say that the location is a madhouse. There is construction going on in the area. The neighbourhood is busy all the time. It took me ten minutes to drive four blocks.

Then, you have impatient people honking at one another. It isn't exactly stress-free driving.

My guy called me at 17:50. I told him where I was. I didn't realize that his car was near mine, with a dumpster was blocking my sight of his car.

He came out of the building a bit later than expected. He got into my car. We both had the same thought -- that it would be best to keep his car parked and I would drive us to the restaurant to eat.
"Have you done some research on where we should go and eat?" he asked me, knowing that I tend to come prepared.
"Are you in slave-driving mode again?" which made him smile. "I'm heading towards King Street, which is where all the eateries are."
"Sounds good," he replied.
We ended up talking about something else and another discussion happened.
"I am supposedly known as Cheap Bastard," he replied.
"What do you mean you are supposedly?" I teased. "You are Cheap Bastard."
"Really?" he said, with a mild threatening tone in his voice. "We'll see about that when I punish you for that comment."
"My bottom is safe right now. I didn't do anything. I am just driving us to a nice restaurant."
"Well, when we are together for a week in Turkey, you bottom won't be safe when I am done with you."
We held hands as I continued to drive us to our destination. It's always great when he is happy. I am happy, too.

  1. That's great. I love the intimacy of a car. Two people in a sealed container that blocks all the noise, and the stress from the world outside.

    I'm happy for you both,

    1. Yes, we love and cherish that intimacy, too. Perhaps that's why we like quality time in the backseat. ;)

    1. I know! I'm glad that I am not the only one who has noticed that my guy and I share the same acronym with our pet names. =)

Dinner was wonderful. I am breaking down the evening into a couple more posts.
